  1. ill agree with this but you are starting to make an epic long trip. Also consider taking the train home from Adelaide. Its quicker, you can relax and i assume going back is alot more boring cause you just passed everything not too long before. EDIT: Or another idea would be to fly to Melb rent a car and do some of the above drives. something like >fly in and spend a couple of days exploring the city (goto the zoo, we love it!) >rent car and do day trips to yarra valley etc >over night trips? sorrento (check out the old ww2 base) then ferry across to bellarine peninsula to check out Torque (bells beach/rip curl/quicksilver shops?) stay somewhere over night around there then back to melb via geelong (Warrabee open range zoo on the way into melb) then spend another couple of days drinking epic coffee and exploring the cbd (arts centre, museum,HM Thearter for a play etc). Hmm think i miss Melb/vic been a while since i have been there, lol.
  2. Right o i have done this as see bellow: so like i said we did it in 5 days. We stayed at caravan parks on a powered site in our tent. while some of the place along the way have a "motel" they are no better than the camp i stay at in Karratha and most were about $100 a night. soooooo not worth it!!! Some of the 'towns' along the way are no more than the servo so dont expect anything good. Food (half decent stuff) is hard to come by. we stopped and had roast beef and gravey rolls. the rolls were stale and reheated, the meat was very, very thing and the gravey was water. also there was a great little inlet at ceduna (i think) over the sand dunes from the caravan park. spent quite a few hours in the water there on the half day. Happy to go into this further in person next time i see you. When are you thinking of going? Im in melb over easter will have to catch up if you're thinking the same time.
  3. flat bed tow truck? that is unless you want to make it look like you are stealing your own car (window>bonnect>cut batt>etc) or if you know who put the alarm in they may be able to help by pass it but still will be hard to move with out the key in the barrel.
  4. *Clears throat loudly* Bottom of page two Chris, not good. haha
  5. nice, looks very clean.
  6. check out Option1 garage in QLD they use to do great deals on Khumo's and fed's
  7. First thing you need to decide is WHAT you want to do with the car. Targa Tas, west point, targa west all run different rules (from what i understand) so while it may be ok for one comp it wont be for the next. So do you want to: -Rally (Taga, duton etc) -club events (hill climbs etc) -fun with mates All of these and many other events you can choose from will dictate what you do to the car. No good building a $30k motor only to find out that you cant race it. Check out the motor sport section they have different thread for some races. The other thing to consider is WHERE you want to race. Targa is good and all but you have to transport to tas not only the race car but your crew parts and FUEL! apparently very hard to find a reliable 98 pump fuel in most of the small towns you go through. If it were me i'd be looking at club events here in WA. Hill climbs, track days and maybe targa west etc. Check out the member secion there is more info on local races here. So i say decide what and where then build accordingly and this will save money and tears in the long run.
  8. one of several reasons (both the v8 hoons and cops) to which i changed to a euro car. Normal and to me will only get worse.
  9. Gram lights *drools*...............
  10. i like the PWR intergrated rad and oil cooler (same as the v8 use). From all the cars i have seen with them they are a good brand to have.

  20. Hello and welcome to Wait Awhile. fellow east coaster here. E85 is illegal to sell at the pump in WA and from what i have been told bp98 and shell vpower are the same (shell hasnt got the ability to produce it here so they get it off BP) Retune to 98. as for the 26 check the workshop thread and also Mayhem seems to get a good rep.

  23. check out simonr32 (?) thread and read how he removed his sunroof to gain extra room. Should be achiveable on a limited budget and tools.
  24. Are you sure its not a connection or something else? 1 not working - yep 2 not working - you got poor luck. My experiance is that the either work or they dont (one the car is warm) so even stranger that its ok for a few hours then goes bad. Happy to be corrected on that. Find someone that has a working unit, try it and if it still happens you know it something else causing the problem.
