Hey all i got the extractors about 5 mins ago. They look great my car is booked in to get them put on, on monday. Just want to say thanx to Greg for organising everything. CHEERS DUDE.
-
i rang today, 4800 apparently there are alot of people interested, that includes extractors and computer.
-
yeah i did all that myself, the battery is still in its original position, the hicas computer was moved to the middle of the parcel shelf to fit the speakers in. They are alpine type r 6 by 9's in for rear fill, Type r 6 1/2 splits up front Type S 12 subs with and Alpine MRV-F540 and an alpine MRV-T420 powering it all. The amps are located behind the subs on a piece of mdf mounted on the fake partition in the 33 boot. The grey u see is just a vinal trim piece and the box isnt much bigger then the whole cut out for it. and the base of the box is just 19mm mdf the is much longer then both sides of the box so i had somewhere to screw the bow into the floor. It takes all of 5 mins to remove so i can still get to the spare tyre.

i here ya dude, its addictive, i cant even drive my parents cars for extended periods of time ne more, i just need bass.... i think i have a problem.
-
do u know how much power they make?? or ne specs?? cheers John
-
ok dude, unless u know ur shit i wouldnt tune it urself, if u lean the car out too much u can cause some serious damage. Im going to be hooking one up this week end, ur two wires on the s-afc go inbetween the one wire on ur ecu, AIRFLOW SIGNAL as thats how the unit works, interupting and modifing that signal, cut ur AIRFLOW signal wire going to ur ecu and ur yellow AIRFLOW OUTPUT goes to the ecu side of the wire and the white AIRFLOW INPUT put goes to the airflow meter side of the wire. Set it rich when u first drive it, then take it to a dyno shop and they will do the rest.

i used the same earth point as the battery, and dit all works a treat
-
hey all, Just have this funny little problem that really pisses me off when it happens. Very rarely i will go to turn the volume up or down on the head unit and as i touch it it turns off then turns itself back on. All the wiring is fine as generally it works fine. I have no ides what it could be. Has neone experienced nething similar to this? Ne help would be great. Cheers John

hey all just thought i make a start, i dont think ill ever be finished with my car. I got my r33 gts NA last august and it came bog stock with a HKS Super Drager Exaust and slightly lowered. The next thing to do wwas put the stereo in out of my old car. I then purchased some 17 inch chromies about a month later. Soon after that in went the subs with a basic but still custom install. As i save a bit more money i got both doors and all quarter panels resprayed. Then we were renovating the house and the front gate fell on it putting a hole in the front left quarter panel and bonnet. So back to the panel beaters it went. I soon installed some neons and other interior stuff like EL guages momo wheel and knob. A little closer to the end of last year mum backed into it so back to the panel beaters again for a front bumper respray and GTR style front grille. I then got my licence in January, only to re end someone 3 days later as some **** WIT cut her off but oh well, if u run up someones arse its ur falt end of story . I then got a boot lip style spoiler. In the last month i have completely re made my boot, which is now no longer a boot. I got it back today from the body shop with a brand new kit and some extractors and an Apexi S-AFC ii is going on in the next 2 weeks. I now have to save very hard to do a 5 stud hub conversion and put some 18's or 19's on it as the kit makes my 17's look like golf buggy wheels.

the one that madre me laugh the most by far was on a apparently 320kw commy with nsw plates on the GC it was "IH8 WRX" i hate wrx! i thought that was quite amusing seeing as most would do it with mindor mods. -
fully dude, today was my 3 week aniversary without my baby, and it has just taken forever to go by, hopefully ill have her back tomorrow.
-
hey erin i think i saw u at indro one day? and on ipswich road aspley area aswell. would that of been u? u in those areas much? whenever i see another skyline i almost always give a wave but like some of u said i just get an up turned nose and they keep driving.... i think i might just give up.....
-
oh yeah just thought id mention my subs are type s 12's in my avatar, but im looking to change to either 2 15's or three type r 12's, im leaning more towards the 3 12's just need a bit more cash.
-
congrats dude the rear speakers in mine help heaps especialy when im using original (not burnt) cd's, i got alpine type r 6 by 9's rear that have an external crossover, awesome speakers.
-
ive done a few not real big comps in my 33, got a good set of 6 1/2 inch splits in he front, and 6 by 9's on the rear shelf that will soon be traded for some good 6 inch speakers all run by an overly big amp, the imaging is great, i am soon to buy another set of splits for the front doors and make some custom pods and up grade the bass side of things, and a crossover will also be used when i do this. Its entered in a sound off in two weeks but im not expecting to place as its more an sq set up. I am also enterd in an SQ comp in about 4 weeks, ill u all know how i go.
-
cheers for all the info dude. ill talk to my dad about it when i get a chance as he has a degree in metalurgy (spelling) and see what he has to say about it.
-
clarion?? its cheaper and the quality isnt too bad either.
-
not totally sure, but i think there a different box, i was looking into doing a manual conversion when i had my vl. ill have a look at my mates and compare it to mine when i get it back
-
i love white!!! my car is black also and have always wanted white rims but dont have the dollars....
-
hey man, just use a search engine, put it "s-afc II" and "sale" and it will come up with heaps of places between 300 - 330 american, which by the time u get it here works out to be a bit over 500 bucks. i think i got mine from supra store online.
-
yeah man this happened to mine as i used to have to pull the trims off about once a week to tighten everything up to stop the rattles, most places sell the clips, pull them off and go to a place like autobarn and match them up there pretty cheap.
-
dude thats one serious set up, but u really shouldnt post that kinda stuff on forums, it like k-mart for prospective car thieves, i would be devistated if someone stole nething outa my car. also be careful, most insurance companies will void ur policy if they find out u have big $$$ audio system as it makes the car hot property for theft. Just my 2 cents
-
do u have the seperate multimedia box thing?? they dont work without out it, they have video and audio imputs in RCA form pm me for more info i recently put one in a mates car.
-
not for type r's dude, i got two type s 12's, check my avatar, and it pumps my whole system is over powered, but i am eventually gonna upgrade to 3 type r 12's i reckon that should go pretty hard, mate of mine has 4 type r 10's in is silvia and that is some really phat base. i have nothing but good stuff to say about alpine subs type r's are the way to go if u have the cash, but if not type s's are still an exceptional sub, mine get driven very hard constantly and ive had them for about a year now with no prbs.
