  1. i just went to ultratune... or even your original guy.. just tell em what u need and they'll do it all for you.. most cars are the same.. i guess if u'r after tuning then take it to specialist shops..
  2. yeh bed those suckers.. hard!.. i had lucas.. which i assume is similar.. and they squeeled like a bitch for ages.. i did try to bed them in initially but i guess i mustn't have done it very well.. but after 1 track day.. they were fine..quiet as anything.. and that was a lot of braking and on a super hot day..
  3. I'm not sure if u sold it already but in desperate need of a R33 Bootlid. Ill give ya an offer of $100. I just need the bootlid without the spoiler if that will make it cheaper.
  4. Anyone got a spare R33 bootlid lying around they wanna get rid of? edit: dont worry got one.
  5. i'm after the rear boot lid, steering wheel... how much? and wats the condition of the steering wheel.. if u got pics email me.. $60 each? but feel free to give me a counter.. pm me edit: dont need the bootlid anymore.. still after steering wheel
  6. Hey guys, just out of curiosity, any of u have a spare R33 Boot? or a cheapie one to sell me one.. would like to get started making moulds for this.. either that or go to a wrecker and find one there for an over inflated price.
  7. yep cool.. will try the rubber insert method first then do your method.. tho i still don't have a lathe..
  8. no manuals.. dam.. that's some contaminated brake fluid then.. and i guess i should'nt have left it drippin on me carpet for so long..
  9. i wonder if plates pimped or dapimp are taken.. hehe
  10. I believe that hypo cars were always out there, and i believe this was always the case, there will always be ppl that wanna burnouts/drifts/watever.. its human nature.. However in terms of ACA and TT it seems that hy po cars are the flavour of the month, the sad thing is i believe the general public is largely uneducated and will continue watching these stories and believe everything they hear. I mean looking at their stories what has hair removal products and other household cleaning products really have to do with news.. Its the same reason why tabloids and womans weekly is so popular. The public in general has a extremely malliable mind and we are becoming more and more like American example. Believing what we see and instead of making educated decisions follow like sheep and creating a society of Fear to sell products or have the select few enforce their views.. (hrm sounds similar to a dictatorship doesn't it) Maybe some of these people should start watching SBS news and really realise there's a world out there and there's more to life than "is your toothbrush really going to give u cancer", but of course they wanna find out why all these crazy hooligans must own modified import cars, and that its impossible for professionals and other enthusiasts to have the same interest..
  11. or a definate way of getting them sold.. put up a paper poster outside or inside metros hahah.
  12. unique cars.. quokka.. sunday times.. in the beemer section.. i've seen plates in all these..
  13. bump.. anyone?
  14. chicken wire.. go the retro look
  15. crap.. mine's done the exact same thing.. does that mean i have to fully replace the master or slave cylinder or can i just rebuild it?
  16. Hey guys, Got a small clutch slave/or master cylinder leak yesterday, just wondering what kind of fluid u use to top it up.. its a little dark.. is this correct? hehe need to drive it to a mechanic but currently the clutch doesn't even disengage.. (no don't wanna crunch my gears all the way there) oh as i've read in other threads, mines done the squeek... click.. and now leaking thing.. does that mean the master or slave cylinder is totally gone.. or can i just replace the seals/rebuild it? Also ne1 know a good place for a good major service and work on skylines?
  17. hrm ok, hope i've got the understanding right.. i dont currently have the knob with me but... u're speaking about the segment that's next to the screw? u made that 9mm.. did u change the second segment to 9mm too or made it slightly smaller too? coz that too is a bit loose so u'll have a bit of twist i guess (Vertical twist as in top to bottom of the knob) i think ill try with some rubber inserts first.. if its not fitted enough (coz i sometimes race on track and frantic gearshifting has caused some previous knobs to slip and miss gear!) may have to trouble u to make me another one of those inserts..
  18. err wot? u got another piece of plastic to shove into this? i too am having problems installing..
  19. i'm curious in how well the boost controller works? anyone installed/played with one before?
  20. hi, can i still get in on this group buy.. i'd like the gray one.. pm me payment details pls! that problem with chrome is on every gear knob.. my $160 mom gear knob had the same problem (cobra leather side inserts) it even fell apart on a 40 degree day the leather inserts fell off coz the glue melted.. The chrome also got very dirty and spotty.. hand acid is very nasty after a year of rubbing your knob.. now.. that sounds.. very .. bad..
  21. interested.. how does it work?
  22. Hey guys, we do want to focus more on items that aren't readily available or to the quality/performance you want, rather than items that are already bulk made and more than likely we won't be able to match the price not to mention we don't have an army of people to make them. For example the bonnet geordie sent..There's plenty around of this exact design, i've even seen some selling for $850 (fb with cb skin -http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63249).. i don't think we can match that or either our price would likely be similar which isn't much point.. but i guess more to the point whats stopping u from buying it? is it price? performance? not quite the right design? not available in Aus? i.e. why haven't u bought it from them, and why are you likely to participate in this group buy instead?
  23. Hey guys, thanks for the replies and keep them coming.. Well i'm meeting up with my friend today with these suggestions and get a rough (note very rough) cost vs construction method write up for you guys and whether u'd still be interested. It seems the most popular suggestion is the R33 Flat boot lid, with 5-6 ppl already very interested. Just a couple of points to remember is if u just want a skin on top of fibreglass etc.. its gonna be a hella lot cheaper than a fully carbon one.. as well as building a fully functional carbon fibre door instead of just a eyelid... Price vs Weight vs Complexity.. will be the key issue here..
  24. Hi guys, Just wanted to get some eoi of what carbon fibre parts ppl would be interested in. I and a couple of friends are able to fabricate parts out of carbon fibre would like to find out what kind of parts everyone would need. We're thinking of smaller sized parts not the obvious Bonnets and that, which we can do as well. Just a note: my friend (the main fabricator) has a lot of experience with carbon fibre, including helping build the UWA motorsport car (carbon fibre monocoque chassis - yes same as F1) so they will be of proffessional quality. Some possible ideas.. carbon fibre surrounds for rear lights, mudflap surrounds, front light surrounds, eyelids, etc..
  25. here's something u all will find interesting.. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/09/30/kimble_rally/ ah well i was abit late .. (just read first page) i got mine from jeager3
