  1. Looks like the privately imported one is up for sale http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?Cr=0&R=9349645&keywords=&trecs=1&__sid=129DA2CA75F2&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Qpb=true&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&seot=1&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294962861%204294817506&silo=1011 Check the crazy interior.
  2. I've got a bit of a thing for wagons and have always loved the Mitsu evo wagon. Now this car isn't available for low volume import because the lancer wagon was sold in Aus and they were too similar. But now the MX5 coupe is eligible, I assume cause it has 'significant' differences to the local model (ie. the roof). I would have thought that the significant mechanical differences in the evo wagon (4wd, 2ltr turbo etc) would have made it eligible even if the slight body differences didn't (wider guards, body kit). Just my 2 cents worth anyway.
  3. That was me in the car park. Nice to see another Stag tragic up this way. And spotted a silver/grey S1 in same car park yesterday.
  4. I don't think it really matters what new cars enter the category. Although seeing Merc, BMW, Chrysler and Audi shaped cars would be cool, the cars are all going to be running the same gear anyway. As long as the racing is still close, there's lots of real passing (pit lane passes don't count) and some cars get bent every now and then, I'll be happy. The racing is generally pretty good. It just needs to be as far from F1 as possible. If you want a category with real variety check out the Aust GT championship. Audi, Ascari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Nissan, Lotus, Dodge, Ferrari, Mosler and more. All they need is for channel 7 to broadcast it properly and they'd be on a winner. Some brand name drivers probably wouldn't hurt either, although seeing Tony Quinn crash two Mosler's in one weekend was pretty entertaining. How much money is in pet food anyway?
  5. After a pair of Tein Hook © Spanners, for height adjustable coil overs. Cheers
  6. CES made up a turbo back system for my 260, so i can't comment on results for a vq25, but they did an awesome job, and sounds great. Sometimes you have to pay for quality.
  7. Will these fit as replacement 260RS (series 1) front indicators??
  8. GT-SS's feel like they spool up just as fast as the stockers. Don't have exact rpm numbers, but by seat of the pants they are very impressive. Almost feels like a big cube NA motor. My old RB20 with 450hp bb turbo, had lag. These are light years ahead. Do miss the sudden boost hit and manic wheel spin though, (damn ATESSA, sometimes i wish i had a switch to turn that off)
  9. Very nice work Grim. How did you manage the rwkw figure? (front driveshaft out?) Jim Berry clutch is a rebuilt factory item. Slightly shorter travel than standard but really smooth (wife can easily drive it).
  10. it does the job. unfortunately we're not exactly blessed with a choice of 4wd dynos on the Sunny Coast.
  11. Thought about cam gears, but I like the fat low-mid range and am not really chasing peak power. Not sure if they'd make much difference for what I'm after. Yeah, it was Stu (and friend) who installed all the parts, and did the tune. He did an awesome job, and is a top bloke as well. I couldn't thank him enough.
  12. Had it tuned on Sat. HKS GT-SS's Sard 800cc inj Nismo in tank pump Z32 AFM's PFC CES dumps, 3in twin front pipes, 3.5in cat back Jim Berry clutch JJR intercooler hard pipe kit Made 361awhp @ 18psi feels gooooood.
  13. Been looking at replacing rubber intercooler pipes on my 260RS for a while now, and while tuning at >1bar, one kept blowing off. Bought a JJR hard pipe kit for BNCR33 and it fits perfectly. Bit of drama getting the oem pipes off behind the front bar though (thanks for your help Stu).
  14. How do identify a RB26 N1 block while it is in the car? Have already tried searched the forums but came up empty. Cheers
  15. Cheers J-Spec, thats just what i was after
  16. Does anyone know of any free links to Auction websites (USS etc)? I was using one through Star Cars but this no longer works. I don't want access to auctions sheets or prices necessarily, just the basics. cheers
  17. Yep Ray thats probably mine, esp if it has squeaky brakes. Just got some Project u rotors delivered today, so with some new pads the squeal will hopefully disappear.
  18. I've been looking for rims for my 260. Looking through hyper rev mag, 18x9 +20 seems a popular size. But, there isn't much choice with this width and offset.
  19. What the?? Had to have a second look at this thread after seeing the author. Looks like he put as much thought into his name as I did . What are the chances of two Andy D's having Stagea's? Looks like a sweet ride. Darrin, wanted to thankyou for organising the cruise the other weekend. Had a great time and looking forward to the next one.
  20. will these clear R33 gtr brakes
  21. Mate i'm with Shannons as well. I had some nob reverse into the passenger side rear door of my 260. Was a real pain cause once the door was opened it was real hard to shut again. Panel shop said the door could have been repaired but sourced one from an import wrecker. That all happened pretty quickly but lack of communication between the panal shop and Shannons caused things to drag on a bit. Having comprehensive insurance and getting nob man's address meant i paid nothing and didn't loose my no-claim bonus. Wasn't a fun experience, but could have been worse.
  22. I'm definitely keen. If a date could be set soon I'll make sure I get the weekend off
  23. CES at Meadowbrook (Bris). Tried to keep it looking fairly stock. Cost a bit more than I budgeted for but is quality system. Give them a call for a quote. Just had a read through some earlier posts. PFC definitely needs tuning from the factory maps (otherwise its ping city). Advice to me was that the dumps are really hard to replace without taking the turbos off (mine are still sitting in the garage waiting for the turbo swap). Be really careful with used turbos, afm's and injectors (they may cost you more in the long run). Try and do mods all at once if you can. Should save you heaps in tuning time and money. Cheers
  24. Had my 1998 260RS for just over a year now. At the moment has KN panel filter (autobarn) PFC (R33 GTR) with with hand controller and Boost Controller (Nengun). 3.5 inch stainless exh with hiflow cat (CES) Ready to go on GT-SS's (Nengun) with (HPC) ceramic coating on turbine housings Ceramic coated split dump pipes (CES) 3 inch merging to 3.5 inch stainless twin front pipe (CES) Z32 AFMs (Just Jap) Nismo in tank fuel pump (Greenline) 800cc sard twin outlet injectors (Greenline) (huge i know, but who knows what the future holds) Still need a clutch before the turbos go on, will probably be Jim Berry or Direct Clutch. Aiming for about 300-330awkw. I have probably gone a little overboard on some of the parts, but I had a r32 gts-t which taught me a few lesson when it comes to modifying. AFM's, injectors, and fuel pumps fail on cars over (and under) 10 years old. Might as well replace them now and not be chasing faults or blowing up the engine Power FC is good for plug and play, easy adjustment for Z32 AFM's and boost, and hand controller can double as multifunction guage (not keen on screwing guages in the dash). Tuning was done by Stu at Jarrett Performance in Maryborough (went up there cause i've known Stu for ages and he does a tip-top job) I intend to keep this car for a while so a stainless exh was a worthwhile investment. CES did an awesome job. With the stock dumps and front pipe the system is db legal (just) and doesn't drone, and doesn't hang too low. This set-up certainly wasn't the cheapest but I wanted a quality product and thats what i got. Go for a known product when it comes to turbos. I experimented with the skyline and got a few headaches as a result. Have a power figure in mind and see what the people in the forums are using to get it. I was willing to sacrifice a little top end for a fat low-mid range, hence GT-SS's. I wanted the wagon to look as stock as possible under the bonnet, don't feel the need to be defected. The forums have so much info and all the advertisers I've used have been excellent.
