  1. The Silhouette GTS of that era had the kit, wheels, extractors and i think even a mild cam. Didnt know they made a TRX as well.
  2. U would'nt be able to get the airbag module recovered as it is made of special material that folds open when the airbag deploys. i would suggest trying armoural on the airbag or failing that maybe even try shoe polish. As for the wheel, reckon red stitching would look nice
  3. it would have been a lot easier to check when the motor was out of the car. If u take off the timing belt cover, you will be able to check the condition of the belt. If its an aftermarket belt ie Gates or delco, you should be able to clearly see the logo stamped onto the belt if its a fairly new belt.
  4. ^ yes the steering wheel itself will fit, but as mentioned the airbag module on SII wheels is different hence the airbag will not be functional.
  5. yeah he pretty much admitted he was speeding, he said "not excessively" lol and cos his dash lights didnt work he couldnt read the speedo. cant believe he got away with it lol. he had a Ova performance workshop sticker on his car is that a well known shop over there?
  6. just replied in another thread. I just got some Kumho 265/35/18 Ku31's from Tempe yesterday for $190 each. I've had good reports from them from others on this forum and also from tyre reviews online. They are definately better than Nankangs, Nexens etc I've used Goodyear eagle f1's(not the GSd3's) a few years ago, nothing special they still aquaplanned and were made in Thailand (NB: the latest Goodyear Eagle F1's GSd3's rated top of the list in the Wheels or Motor mag)
  7. I went to Tempe Tyres and got Kumho Ecsta Ku31's in 265/35/18 for under $190each. So i think $210 for Nexens isnt that good a price. I bought some Nexen 265/35/18 for my old car a few years ago for $150 each. Give Tempe a call, they will freight to Vic. OR also try Taleb tyres on this forum, their prices are pretty good as well.
  8. This guy is great to deal with. I got my boot badge off him.It was in good condition as described and he posted it express for me!
  9. why are you looking to upgrade? trackwork? >300kw's?
  10. which ones did Nismoid refer to, he said $150 for a set.
  11. thanks for the input, im still 60-40 (60 towards getting them lol)
  12. When my friend pulled out his restrictor, it only boosted to around 7psi. Then, he reset the ecu and it never happened again. Try that
  13. As per the title, should i get a set of Cam gears for my GTR with mild upgrades, ie exhaust, boost , filter? Im getting my timing belt done, so i thought i would get this done @ the same time. Also what brand of gears should i get? I've heard of HKS gears ripping timing belts.
  14. yeah, numerous people on this forum run 10w60 Castrol on there Rb26's, and yeah this is the viscosity Castrol recommend for GTR's. Perhaps give Castrol tech support a call. But i doubt its the oil, try your old plugs again
  15. The 180 and Rexy would be round the same on fuel compared to your NA R33. In terms of performance both would be quicker than your NA R33. The gearboxes in SR's are pretty reliable. The MY00 Rex had stronger syncros than previous models. Depends what you want it for. If you want some dori dori the 180 of course. Having owned several S13 SR Turbos, i would say I prefer the handling of my AWD car, especially in the wet.
  16. Depends on what type of alarm you have. Some have a Turbo timer interface. If you dont know what model alarm just take it to JB hifi or something. You could also ask in the Car security thread.
  17. If its not a series II and you have a GTR grill it will fit.
  18. My clutch feels heavier than say a clutch out of a normal car, but I would say its at best an organic heavy duty. Any launches higher than 3k and it will slip and smell for a good day or so. Which can be good as it will prevent me from snapping anything from hard lauches lol. I'll look to replace my clutch to a stronger one when its worn out as its still great for daily driving. i would say with the relatively minor mods on your car and good time that you have your launches and gear shifts down pat.
  19. Red calipers would look good, or also gold
  20. Nice time! What type of launch did u do? Mine only has a std clutch so cant do any launches.
  21. So is it making any boost @ all?? If not hopefully its just a boost leak in your plumbing or BOV.
  22. If you were'nt @ fault and need a car whilst your car is getting repaired/assessed, you can get a rental car via Acorn Rentals. Thats what i did when someone totalled my last car. Acorn Rentals then recover the money from the party @ fault's insurance company. YOu have it as long as it takes for the claim to settle. They gave me a brand new Lancer to use for a month lol
  23. I run HID's and have not had any issues with the light spread. Similar to the stock halogens just brighter. I adjusted the aim of the headlight to dip a little bit lower than stock via the screw on the back of the headlight.
  24. use some liquid paper and draw a line on the CAS and on the actual cover and take the CAS off. When u put it back on just line it up with the line you just marked
