  1. Well it looks great anyway http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...&threadid=18020 If you want to be technical the background is of the Sydney Skyline, it wasn't intended but makes a good excuse
  2. I love the banner!!!!! There was also another one from funkymonkey with the keys on it, thought thats was pretty good as well, nice work!!!!!!
  3. Have a look at the R34 on cardomain http://www.cardomain.com/id/brian_01 This is apperently the car used in the movie, you can see for yourself that it does in fact have an RB26 in it. It does have the GTR logo on the front grill however the car is listed under the normal Skylines not the GTR's so i dont know wots going on there. unless however this is purely a showcar for the movie, considering this car does 12.1 second quarters and nowhere near what is achieved in the movie but neway its still a pretty nice 34.
  4. geee, maybe i should consider buying imports from brissy.. seems cheap up there, in adelaide we practically pay that for a 32 with those kinda mods and in that kinda condition.. got a couple pics of my mates 32 we jus bought for 17.5k this was a pretty good deal for where we are. http://www.cardomain.com/id/cyrius
  5. Don't know if an R30 can even be comparable to this, but neway i have a whining noise coming from the transmission which is pretty screwed at the moment, so my guess is that it would either be your transmission or diff:D (But dont be like 1 of my mates who put banana skins in the diff to make it seem smooth *sigh*)
  6. :D Had a call from the police this morning, the thief has been arrested Im happy, thats another one off the street, now i jus have to wait for the court case to go through where he will need to pay for everythin that was stolen and any damge to the car.
  7. Did i mention there were witnesses to it, they came and saw me when I got to my car, the guy sed 'he was affraid to confront him because he thought the guy might attack him with a crowbar or something' ahh well they gave me the registration number to the theives car so good on em. What would be the best locks to get to secure the car as much as possible, It just needs to be used as a deterence since the locks I have now are obviously no good.
  8. ofcourse it isnt impossible, you only need to supply the engine with fuel and a healthy spark and she'll run regardless, but with efi i think the immobilisation trips something in the ECU for fuel management making the injectors useless, but if they desperate enough they'll always find a way, i've heard of thieves bringing theor own ECU's, ripping the old 1 out plugging in theirs, then startin up the car. but i seriously cant imagine too many people around here being clever enough to do what your mate did tho.
  9. Brian you made a good point about them taking the lock, I hadn't even thought about that, Thanks, but still it has dual immobilisation though ignition and fuel, security is all black wired so i can imagine it taking a long time to be able to override the system. after mentioning that about the locks, I think I will get a set of dead locks as soon as possible. any suggestions, my mate just got a set of SOLEX deadlocks for about $80, do you think they would be secure enough.
  10. I have a CYCLOPS S35c Security System, includes dual imobilisation, Doors Bonnet Boot Protection, Shock sensing, Glass Break Detection, Horn Pulse with alarm.... well it is pretty good anyway, only had it installed about 4 months ago, long after i had my previous system in the car. But anyway, apperently the thief was sitting in the car ripping everything out while the alarm was going, it was in broad daylight in a reasonably busy area. I was going to get deadlocks for the doors and hatch but hadn't got that far yet, if i did so they wouldn't have been able to get in so easy through the hatch.. well another possibility was just to simply rip all the locks out, patch them over, and make use of the keyless entry, so you can't 'jimmie' a lock that doesnt exist. Well on the brightside I dont really need to worry about car security anymore since there is nothing left in it for thieves.
  11. Something I thought never would happen to me, just happened to me today, I couldnt belive it!!, get to my car and everythin was missing, even the custom box i made for the whole lot, grrr Well heres my page shows what I USED to have and the damage the theives done. http://www.cardomain.com/id/cyrius (Out Dated) Some people seriously need to have more respect for our cars and especially our soundsystems. Well i just posted this to stress my anger towards people like this. Well keep your cars safe people and make sure to get the most out of them.
  12. Yea your right about the hatch having all round disk brakes but i think its only the Ti model which has all electrics like mine, i've seen heaps of the R30 hatches without the electrics tho, had heaps of trouble trien to get parts for the power windows when they stuffed up but I was lucky enough to find one down at the local U-Pull-It.
  13. hey every1, yea i got an R30 Skyline hatchbak Ti with the std L24E engine. The only mod done to it is the airbox replaced with a K&N pod filter. im in the same situation as hoon69 at the moment, im maybe considering doin an engine swap as soon as iv'e saved enough money but im just trying to get as much info as possible before I do it. Checking prices at Adelaide Jap Dismantlers i found: -FJ20 Turbo Twin Cam 1990cc, 4 Cylinder, 190hp, RWD - $2000 includes gearbox, wiring loom, computer, and all sensores required to run engine This I have considered, because im assuming that the FJ series should pretty much fit straight into my R30. Im not sure wot would need to be changed to get an RB series into my engine bay, but if its not too difficult i'd consider maybe: -RB20 Turbo Twin cam, 6 cylinder, 1998cc, 24 valve, RWD, late model, 215hp - $2500 including gearbox, wiring loom etc... or if its even possible: -RB25DET 2498cc, Twin cam, turbo, 6 Cylinder, 4WD. 250hp - $4000 including gearbox, wiring loom etc... Any comments or information regarding this kind of project would be apprechiated.
