  1. The catch can setup involved the following: 1. intake cover and exhaust cover linked 2. the connection between the intake cover and the pcv valve on the intake manifold has been blocked 3. the linked exhaust and intake covers are feed to a catch can 4. the catch can is plump back into the intake piling between the air pod and turbo is this correct?
  2. i have no oil......... so i must be burning oil
  3. IF it helps... i had oil on the bonnet and in the engine dip stick blown out! blow by (i think it is called) I had the same catch can setup with only diff now being the adapters which are quire restrictive. the PVC is blocked. in and ex linked and than to catch can > to intercooler. and i raised boost recently! can revs feel in neutral
  4. so i should get a 1. compression test 2. coolant test 3. ?leak down test? and if radiator test comes back positive i have a small hg leak?
  5. Not entirely sure there mate, if you selected a larger compressor say a 25g and had a 8 cm exhaust housing with external wastegate and dump and 3 inch exhaust i think at full boost she would be RUMBLING it would be awesome than all u would have to do is find the nearest COP shop.......... sit at the lights REV drop slide round the corner let the waste gate open on a saturday night!
  6. Hey guys, Recently, I was just pulling up at my mates house when a cloud of white smoke. First i thought head gasket right...... lots of white smoke but my idle is fine and she revs fine so i put it down to maybe water after the storm. Next few days driving to work intermittently clouds of white smoke. I thought maybe it was a overly restrictive breather system that i installed but its fine i think. I have ex and in connected to each other then to catch can and catch can to intercooler piling. blocked PVC So far i have these opitions: 1. small leak in the head gasket which means i should start to get lumpy idle, oil in coolant and in stuff under the oil cap. 2. Its a valve stem which i have no idea to diagnosis or what the F it is 3. turbo seal... therewas some white smoke coming from the dump oil or water? helpplease
  7. Well.. my opitions: 1. TD06...$6400 for the entire kit from CRD or 2479 for the turbo itself from ISC performance 2. HKS gtrs from slide 3. 2200 for engine, auto gearbox, loom and ecu, approx 1500 for installation excluding a rear diff change.... (different diff ratios) This requires diff change, re-wire using existing remapped rb20 ecu and vtec controller for variable cam timing. I am seriously considering 3. due to the modifying potential of the car however the wiring/tuning seems tricky. 20 ecu with 25 block and vct controller!
  8. gt3071r i thought that would be a little too big for a 20
  9. I will have to sell my splitfires, and high flow turbo if i gut this rb25. hopefully they will be easy to sell
  10. i guess i should just give gcg a call for a quote! umm 8cm on a rb25 should be awesome for response:)
  11. can anyone suggest somewhere to source tdo6 and piping kit? in QLD/Brisbane
  12. I have my sights set on a tdo6-20g 8cm LS2 if i have enough by xmas i think i will go rb25, manifold, ex gate and tdo6! Umm.... i am hoping mercury motorsport and just rewire existing loom which should give me more displacement and hence more torque down low. z32 should help with the tuning and the tdo6-20g 8cm might be small on the exhaust side however external gate might help! i welcome any input either encouragement or discouragement.
  13. Thanks for your input guys. It is really about design at the end of the day. I mean lets face it i have a POOR mans gt-r! all the braking, handling, etc with out the kicked out guards and the 2.6dett. I could get injectors and z32 (would this work with a remapped ecu?) and maybe pull 200-220 with my current turbo or i could get a tdo6-20g 8cm exhaust with a ex gate and manifold and just crank it! i know the rb20 is a lag monster at the best of time but i love the REVVVVVVVVVVVVS! but i have called mercury motorsport and asian auto spares soo its all on a roll. AAS have an rb25det 4wd auto front cuts ($2200 - gearbox, ecu, loom and block) and mercury reckon they can modifiy the wiring or rewire so at the end of the day there goes my $6000 from tax last finanical year and my revv machine! i think i will go the whole hog and put the 25 in with z32 and a tdo6-25g 8cm with ex gate and i should be happy with the power figures! i konw its only a figure on a dyno but i have been in 260wks cars and I lIKE IT!
  14. I am unsure! maybe it was at all four which won't be that bad from an rb20det! but i think the decision is make.... find a rb25det stagea engine and drop her in with a modified loom and look at that tdo6. asian auto spares and stz auto have stageas cuts that just arrived! this should help me break 220 kws
  15. I have been suspious from the start...I have had a leak in the intercooler before hand full mod list is: (i have no snap... i was thinking new turbo or replacing my block either 25 from a stagea or a 30 Model: R32 Skyline GTS4-T YEar: 1993 223XXX kms Compression: 165 - 175 across the board! Modifications: - FMIC - K&N air pod - Splitfire coilpacks -mech boost controller - 12 psi - Fuel pressure regulator - Sliding performance (highflow" rb25 turbo) - 3 inch Dump pipe - 3 inch Exhaust - gutted cat - Auto to man conversion r32 GT-R gearbox - Exedy HD clutch (Pull type - i think) - two BOV (pervious owner) *stock *atmo - Apexi muffler - Walbro fuel pump - re-mapped ECU by mercury motorsport (newmarket) - STOCK AFM, injectors, internals should i retuning?
  16. True... intake manifold, exhaust manifold, rewiring, AFM, ecu
  17. HEy Al, Yeh i have read his post... his tdo6 is insane but i was thinking depending on how much a kit cost i probably spend 4.5 to 6 grand on building, fitting and tuning an rb30!@ problem being i can't build an engine! no idea how it is done!@
  18. Hey guys, I was wondering if u guys had any experiences with both or either of these turbos. I have an rb20det running on a gts4 r32 with splitfire coilpacks, sliding performance highflow turbo, mech boost controller, k and n pod, 3 inch exhaust from the dump back, remapped ECU, fuel pressure reg, fuel pump, gtr gear box, exedy HD clutch pulling 160 kws...... and i am now looking for more! as expected! i am thinking of a bolt on turbo or a kit. My aim 220kws at least with good responses.. I have done a bit of a search and some research and i understand that the short stroke and big bore many the rb20 lack tourque down low however my current turbo doesn't start pulling till 5000ish........ very disappointed opitions: 1. trust tdo6 LS2 G20 8cm Does anyone know were i could source one of these kits and approximately how much? $ 2. GT2530 and make excellent response but just make my power goal 3. Garrett equivalent? Does anyone know were i could source one of these kits and approximately how much? $ in addition, i was thinking about getting new injectors and a electronic boost controller but would the injectors work with a remap cos i haven't got any ideas or the extra 2000 for a new ECU Tired of waiting for boost! or should i find a shop and supply a rb30 block, rb25de head, forgies, and rods and a 4wd sump adapter plate and be done with it!
  19. YEh.. one of the r33 s1 or s2 has a nylon wheel which is easier to spool up. my mate has one on his rb20det sylvia boost around 3. I have a sliding performance high flow boost around 4.5/5 grand bigger house in compressor and exhaust sizing witha steel wheel..........14 psi at 5000 rpm....... ANNNOYING
  20. Hey guys, I have recent spent 3/4 weeks preparing a trial front bar, m spec side skirts, gtr spoiler, and front right panel (accident damage) including prefitting, sanding and painting. I have never spray painted before with acrylic or two pack. I have realized a few things 1. its great for the challenge and the learning (huge learning curve - if u haven't done it before) 2. I spent a lots of time with preparation..... anyone who is thinking baout painting BE patient!!! - after spraying high build, and sanding, sanding, and sanding (block sander, electric sander, detail sander and blasting with a air compressor to see the rough areas, its was PERFECT than i mixed the paint! tips: FILTER PAPER very important! FLASH OFF TIME very important! prevents RUNS...and CURTAINS! 3. Get a few tack cloths and spend times cleaning like a obsessive compulsive FREAK 4. Professional painters are exactly that...... PROFESSIONALS day in day out......... every day of the working week! 5. u don't save that much......... calculate this: Mask ~$100 Gun (HVLP) gravity feed ~$140to $200 4 litre kits of primer in two pack ~150 to 200 3 litres basecoat 150 4 express clear coat 120 to 160 sand paper sanders? body filler? prepwash? tack cloths I have spent the equivalent to sending it to a shop and in the end! i am going to send it to a shop! P.S My parts look awesome prefitting but when the colour is off and the clear coat RUNS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I nearly lost it! I AM SENDING IT TO A PROFESSIONAL!
  21. Yeh the way the parking lot is position i could have hit a few cars along the way. I am in the process of fitting. just primed today with 2 pack..i will post some pictures and final product!
  22. Hey guys, I thought i would share my frustrations with everyone on this forum considering i am slow but surely being driven mad... Recently, my hand brake slipped due to the handbrake being slightly up during some lateral cornering so one wonderful day at work security contacted my manager and i was taken from my work area and told that my car (r32) had rolled ~100 meters in the car park into a fence. Damage was to the front spoiler, my clear indicator, and right front quarter panel...So i have decided to prefit, sand, prime, and spray a r32 trial front bar (mybodykits - ebay), m spec side skirts (carmate), and a gtr spoiler! I have obtained high build primer(2 pack), hardner, thinner, clear, basecolour, body filler, sander, grinder......... AFTER several weeks.... i should have took out a 1200 bucks from my account walked down to the local performance centre and had it sprayed fitted and ready to drive out! great experience F-lot of work!
  23. i just got a r32 trial front bar lets see how she goes
  24. Hey matie, Its good to see other kean modifiers out there.... Scissor doors bolt on kits are available quite readily on ebay and www.autostylingaustralia.com.au Its pretty much a vertical lift bracket which i htink some aussie guy thought up with a dampner attached however i am unsure how solid these dampners are! the brackets look pretty tough but i guess u will be lifting the doors a fair bit... They are probably installed by removing the front quarter panels and bolting the brackets on to the chassis. anyways if u ever get around to it... take a pic or do a DIY on the forum! best of luck! p.s they market for about ~$1000 mark
  25. Ohhhh originals from nissan! umm a fair bit of damage! started repairs already... putting on abody kit!
