Yeah what the others have said works well, I used kero/metho on mine a couple of weeks ago. Just make sure you dry it out well - mine still held a lot of kero after I left it on its side to dry for a day. Might sound queer but I left a couple of flood lights on it for 30mins and just let it all evaporate, in hindsight much faster.

Only another day to go! On that note, its my first time attending - Saturday to Monday (Should make it in time for 3rd practice session if I can navigate Melb). Can anyone give me some survival tips / what to expect / places to visit / best places to watch from etc etc.. Anyone else making the trek down? Cheers. Towlie

Can try "Pat's Tyres & More" if you need Fyshwick. Fitted 255's on my 9inch and 235's on my 8inch. Didn't damage anything. They are usually pretty busy but it might be worth a shot.

Yeah dude sorry to hear about it. My mates Pinny was stolen from the same spot as yours just a few weeks before. Sounds like they really need to do something about theft at that place. On the road a fair bit so will keep an eye out for you. towlie.

18" Volk Racing F-zero Challenge
towlie replied to towlie's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hey dude, Replied to your PM ages ago but I haven't heard anything back so they're still for sale. -
I'm keen, prefer a Saturday but not too fussed. Should be good to compare figures across another dyno and see what my torque curve looks like without the misfire from the last run

Hey dude, They'd look pretty sweet on the GTR. I've got a set of 18X9 +22 volk wheels I'm trying to sell which would be pretty good for track work. Let me know if you're interested and we'll work out a good price. </plug>

18" Volk Racing F-zero Challenge
towlie replied to towlie's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hey James, Offset isn't wrong. They did scrub slightly on full lock and touch my guards over pot holes in the road with my set up. I'm not sure if that would be a different issue with non lowered or factory suspension but thats upto the buyer to decide, hence me not putting up a specific list of cars. I can take more photos or if anyone wants to do a test fit I'm sure we can arrange something. Huy, Spacers work in the opposite way if im not mistaken, that would just extend the wheels out. Anyway, still for sale and ad will be removed upon sale. Cheers. -

Volk 18" F-zero Challenge Wheels For Sale
towlie replied to towlie's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Lol, I never said I liked them.. they're just a large step above some of the crap I've driven on in the past... Where abouts do you work, I may have to pay you a visit and check them out as I'm not really impressed with some of the crap thats been fed to me today. Best value for money I've come across so far are Advan AS01 for $1472 for a set. -
Volk 18" F-zero Challenge Wheels For Sale
towlie replied to towlie's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Frink - PM replied Bullet32 - haha horrible tyres.. I've just gotten back from tyre shopping and you would be surprised how many reputable shops tried to sell these to me. A certain shop was pushing Nankang's onto me like crazy because they didn't have any Adrenalins in stock. The Nankangs are fairly decent for their price and my driving but then again I dont have Federals to compare them to . I just want to see a local buy them as I really like them and would be good to see them round on someones car every now and then. Cheers guys! -
Hey everyone, Putting my wheels up for sale here for a local to scoop them up before they head off to the main section. Brand: Rays / Volk Racing Model: F-Zero Challenge Size: 18x9 Offset: +22 Tyres: 2x 85-90%, 2x 75-85% with slightly worn inner edge 255/35R18 Condition: There is a bit of gutter rash and some scratches, the usual wear for older wheels. Also tiny bit of chipped paint in non visible areas. Price: $2000 or decent offer I have never come across another set in this colour and I have been advised they were an extremely limited run so you can be almost certain no one else has them. Very regretful sale and they would be a nice addition before marques in the park..... *hint* Any questions feel free to ask.

Didn't spot but I just heard a massive set of tyre squeals and a thud and some more squeals then at the Chisholm shops then a white r33 pull up in the same car park as me and check for damage. Anyone off here?

Spotted zenith13 driving down Canberra Ave in Fyshwick this morning.

Sorry to get off topic... Steve, was that your 33 today at Telstra? It matched the description perfectly just not sure about the colour. Real mint!

Spotted a dark grey R32 GTR giving it a hit up Erindale Drive this morning and scaring the crap out of a lancer so badly he almost crashed into me changing lanes haha. Also drove side by side this afternoon with a black S1 33 GTSt from Commonwealth Ave to Woden Hospital and no wave

If its still as clean and in good condition as in the pictures you posted I think its a good price to be asking with such low Km and modifications, thats what I paid for mine a couple of months ago. If you need or want to get rid of the Work CR Kai's before you sell the car PM me and I'll probably buy them depending on condition.
-
No offense mate but I think your gonna be in for a very rude shock. It's a performance sports car, not a commodore and I think you will find you get what you pay for, especially with brakes. If you want to use cheap and nasty parts and cut corners, don't expect your car to perform to its full potential. Don't want to sound like a prick but you really need to do your homework and find out a lot before going to the service with mechanics and these cars and before committing any money or handing over the keys as I have unfortunately found out. And to n15mo, while it is good to source your parts you will find that the mechanics will not carry out warranty without you paying the associated labour costs to their workshop, something that I decided not to skip last service and it has saved me about 300 bucks and counting.

Sorry but I had to resurrect this thread up after the rain today... Absolute moron in an auto underpowered multicolored sh!tbox vl whose complete value wouldn't be worth more than the petrol in it thought he'd be a wise ass and come flying down the hill and tailgate me through a school zone. Unphased by the idiot I drove normally, look back the mirror and the retard is swinging it 45 degrees side to side around the corner 1m behind my car then almost loses it so backs off then floors it to tailgate me. I drive slowly approaching the corner and not giving him the opportunity or room to do it again but he does, then tailgates me again. Then the loser goes to overtake me on the right lane of the roundabout and when we are side to side he boots it and swings it out toward my car then floors it to 90 through the 60 zone. Oh and matey, if you even have the internet or any sort of insurance (..judged based on the car you were driving) you have no idea how hard I was hoping you would stack your pride and joy into a lightpost, Go find an oval or park somewhere you idiot. Is it only just me and where I live or does everyone see a lot more of this sort of crap on the road when its wet?
