  1. Funny that, went past at 2:20ish and they were gone when they were actually needed with a ford broken down at the intersection causing all sorts of chaos with idiots cutting lanes to save a precious minute.. Also saw a wrx pinned by an undercover VZ just down the road too.
  2. Delivery drivers / couriers! Expecting 3 deliveries today with set times and only 1 turned up with no phone call from the others to say they will be late / make alternate arrangements... ffs if you hate your job that much and insist on continuously doing this then go find a new one, but theres no reason to be an ass and not turn up when you demand stupid amounts of money for the privilege not to mention that the fact that people need their items. Will probably stop buying online completely because of this as it always turns up in me chasing and having to abuse them, great customer service! end rant
  3. Think it may be time to look for a new mechanic. I've got the same issue and two different mechanics, one being a clutch specialist within a minute of hearing it said it was an issue with the thrust bearing on the clutch. When you place a slight load on the bearing by pressing the pedal the noise disappears. Don't ask me to get more technical than that I'm just telling it like I heard it. If it's the same thing then I was told it's not a problem unless the noise starts to really get to you then you can replace the clutch otherwise to leave it till it needs replacing anyway, but I like my thousand bucks more than the sound (even if it is embarrassing having a sports car sound like a cricket).
  4. Spotted Superfly Skyline at Supercheap Tuggeranong this afternoon. Remember you from the XR6T at the dyno day but didn't say anything at the chance of looking like a complete stalker... Very nice 32.
  5. Just like to say thanks for organising the day John, had a great time.
  6. In that case I will send you through a pm for another car in the hope you get it before you leave... Has anyone advertised on any other forums or is the turnout large enough for a good day out?
  7. Sorry for the noob question - but can anyone confirm if there will be a printout rather than just on screen display and explain the basic run through of the set up and whats involved? Have attended dyno days before as a spectator but never payed too much attention to the precautions, whats required of the car and what not.... Cheers
  8. Hi John, I have just paid for the last two spots and sent the details through to your PM.
  9. Have to agree with going the TRW Lucas pads. Just had a set installed all round with new DBA 4000 series slotted rotors up front and street series slotted for the rear while also putting in Motul DOT 5.1 fluid. I was a bit skeptical at first but the stopping power for the street is far more than adequate (possibly overkill) and thats even with my Nankangs and no ABS.. I personally don't know how well they go on the track or sprints but was assured they would hold up.
  10. EDIT: Would no longer recommend this brake shop to anyone.
  11. Spotted a black 32 gts-t down Isabella Drive who waved but I didn't see until too late.
  12. Sounds good, I'll come along for a drive and to meet people. Does anyone mind if a friend with an old school Mazda 323 with Familia engine and turbo comes or is it limited to MR2, Skyline and MX6?
  13. I'll be keen to come and take someone if I'm still needed after all this interest... This is almost sounding like the mass SAU convention at the museum when Ignition came to town.
  14. Spotted a white 33 getting towed from Limestone Ave across the war memorial tonight at 7, owner didn't look too happy. Also saw a nice dark 33 at Chisholm shops with cracked front bar Tuesday night I think it was.
  15. Saw about 10 different skylines within 15 minutes around civic on Wednesday arvo, so much for thinking they were a bit rare... Also saw a nice silver stagea with a skylinesaustralia sicker on the rear windscreen giving it a bit past the dealerships in Belconnen on the same day.
  16. Hey SKYLVIA, I was after getting the same done to mine. I went to Quickfit in Fyshwick the other day and was quoted $230 a piece for respraying and getting the gutter rash sanded out. Was told they would be brought back to new condition. I'm about to get a quote from 'wicked wheels' which is a mobile type van that comes to you so will let you know what price I get from them, but to answer your question it can definately be done. Don't know how well it would go if you tried it yourself though.
  17. Hey guys, I'm keen to come along and meet everyone, however I can't get there till just before 8:30 so if someone could save me a park at the museum if the skylines are gonna be together that would be really good. If you see a silver 33 looking lost and aimlessly driving around just wave me in. Cheers, Mateo.
  18. Silver 33 S2 down through Chisholm, I tried keeping up but the speeds he reached were really quite impressive down past the oval. Think they may have even kicked it sideways a couple times. . Think its the same car thats parked outside at Fadden?
  19. Sorry to disrupt the chat on the ol perve session fellas, Did spot a nice dark grey kitted 33 (GTR?) following me through Gowrie and Chisholm this afternoon then chuck a u turn and head the other way, unsure if they are a member of the forums or just live in the area. Did enjoy the view in the mirror while it lasted .
  20. Hey everyone, Can't believe it’s already been 2 weeks since I got it. Thought its time I got off my ass and put some pictures up. It's in immaculate condition for its age and drives beautifully. Extremely pleased. At the moment it’s got: Bilstein Coilovers. RAYS / Volk Racing 18X9 inch wheels. Turbo Back Exhaust (Don't know the brand). Tilt and shock sensing alarm with immobiliser. Autometer boost gauge and some el cheapo brand pod which is going to be replaced on Friday Already started making a list of what’s next but don't want to get carried away. Love to hear your comments. Also a big thanks to Discount Tyres in Belconnen for not screwing me over and being the first tyre shop that’s done a half decent job in my experience ...oh and can't forget Jacko's Dickson for getting it on the road. Cheers Mateo.
  21. Spotted a silver S2 R33 down limestone at about 3:50 this afternoon turning off to civic just cruising behind me. Also saw a nice white 33 giving it some on the end of Northbourne through the sweepers to Woden last night which sounded pretty good. However, didn't spot the jeallous lowlife who spat all over my drivers side while my car was parked opposite Mooseheads.
  22. I called around and Canberra Connect said an ACT roadworthy certificate was required in any case. RTA confirmed this along with some other queries I had. The only problem I think I may have is with the wheels they put on the car. They passed roadworthy and added more registration with the standard alloy's but we agreed the car would be sold with RAYS forged 18's which happen to be 255's so a guard roll may be required or a change to different wheels but I will have to look into that. I'm not sure but I suspect the pod will have to make way for an air box as well depending on where you go?!? SKYLVIA - I actually ended up paying around the 2800 mark for full comprehensive but that may also be because the car is fitted with a top of the line alarm and immobiliser and I've had insurance on my name with the VN. That being said the excess is a little high for both theft and accident but that is something that comes with age and the insurance rating 4 they were happy to give me. I did have a hard time convincing NRMA about the car in person and that's only because the operator's boyfriend drove a skyline (and managed to write it off) but decided it wasn't worth it in any case as they'd make it even more difficult in the case of a claim. I read through some threads and gave John at Trojan a call about a service yesterday and found him to be rather helpful. He told me they were booked out this week but if I called him on Monday he might find me a spot or to swing on by. Well now I'm stuck at work while you guys are probably out on that cruise so I'm gonna make myself look busy and earn some money to cover the car. Cheers for the welcomes. Will post pics shortly.
  23. Whoops, Would you mind giving ECR33103613 a go. The 1 was obscured by a printed line on my paper. Cheers.
  24. Hi guys, Could someone please do a check on the VIN: ECR3310363. Would like to know if it came out with ABS and if there is anything else was optioned. Cheers.
