Came back from Japan (Osaka/Tokyo) a couple weeks ago, I stayed at Namba and went to Sam & Dave Shinsaibashi on a Sunday night. Wasn't completely packed but was still lively with a mixed crowd of locals and foreigners, it was hiphop/rnb night and was overall a pretty good club. We went to Sam & Dave Umeda on a Friday night and although the place was bigger, the music sucked (only coz im into hiphop/rnb). Went back to Namba/Shinsaibashi area to go check out Club Pure instead but one of my friends forgot her ID at the hotel so I missed out. Check out www.bikeclubosaka.com to see whats on and most club websites have a schedule list so you can see what kind of music is playing on a particular day. I miss Japan

Well I havent decided which hotel in Shinjuku exactly, 2yrs ago I stayed at Shinjuku Village hotel, rooms were damn small but I was travelling with my gf at the time so it was ok since we had a semi double bed which was big enough. This time around I'll need 2 separate beds though so im assuming it'll eat up more room. With a semi double bed at the time and our luggage ( we had about 2 suit cases all up) it was a very tight fit. I guess im wanting to try a different hotel now just for the sake of it but when i decide on one ill let you know. I've got a lonely planet book for Tokyo, might have to look at the Osaka one. I have decided to have a bias towards staying in Tokyo longer than in Osaka, only problem is we're going to have to go back to Osaka since our flight arrives/leaves there (we are using that Jetstar deal). Ill take a look at the hotels around Namba and hopefully see some within our price range. When I say $1500 for 2 weeks I meant per person. So I guess finding a hotel which is $150ish a night (split between 2 ppl) should be doable? $500 a night is way out of budget though dop3y - have u decided on the hotels u'll be staying at as yet?
-
well we have $1500 AUD as our budget for accomodation for the 14 days split between the 2 cities. Realistically though we're trying to keep it to around $1000 if possible or as close as we can to it anyway. Which is 2 ppl per room. So do you think Shin-Osaka is a good area to stay in? There were a couple hotels I found around that area since I thought that may be the major part of town Car stuff I probably won't be really buying much (sold my 200sx and now have a Golf GTI), so as much as I love Japan and jap cars, unfortunately the parts won't be as appealing to me as it were when I had my 200 Might go and get myself some DEFI gauges though, universal stuff like that I'll probably get while im there

Hey guys, Im hoping some of the Japanese residents can help me out here. Im going to have a 2 week holiday in Japan with a bunch of friends and we've decided to base ourselves in Osaka and Tokyo. I've been to Japan a couple years ago and stayed at Shinjuku/Tokyo and found it to be a relatively good spot to be situated as its in the middle of all the action with a main JR line. My question is, whereabouts in Osaka would you suggest I base myself? I'd like to be as close to where the action is as possible ie. food, nightlife, shopping. and not too far from the touristy places I'd like to visit. Ive decided to stay at Shinjuku again when we're at Tokyo since its the place im most familiar with, but would you guys suggest somewhere else considering Im wanting a place that meets the same criteria as mentioned for Osaka?
-
hmm sorry Im not sure either as we actually did it the hard way ie. Narita Express all the way to Shinjuku station and dragged the luggage all the way to the hotel. Its a pain if you have alot of luggage although it was very do-able for us when we first got there. Going back was a different story though because with all the shopping that we did over there we had so much more things to carry and the bad thing is, Shinjuku station doesn't have any lifts/escalators where you could drag your luggage on to. Which means you have to literally carry your suitcases up the stairs.

Yep thats the same one, I booked mine online from the same site as well. The price was slightly more expensive at the time i booked by a few dollars. The pics are quite acurate but I guess you really dont get a feel of how big/small the rooms actually are till you're there. If you're carrying alot of luggage the you won't have much room to put them. We only brought 2 suitcases and it was pretty cramped already but overall it was a pleasant experience.

I stayed there about a month ago! Same exact hotel I must admit the rooms are VERY small however it is enough for a place to crash since with the tight schedule you have you'll probably wont be there much, only to sleep. It is in Kabukicho right? I just remember walking there for the station and just before you reach it you will see an adult store called HMB (the sign looks like HMV) but its full of adult videos I think. I didnt go in there since i was with my gf hehe. Ahh i miss japan already.. Theres a nice ramen shop close by which has a statue of a fat pig in the front, be sure to try it out

Where is/was the Tokyo Motor Show held? Its a shame Im not going when TAS is on, but bring on the japanese girls Im sure my gf wouldn't mind, Ill just say that they're in the way of the cars so I have no choice but to look hehe

Great forum guys, Ive been reading up alot on the Japan section of these forums, especially in the past few months since Im finally off to Tokyo for a few days at the end of this week Im hoping some of the Japanese locals will be able to help me out with the question that i have without re-iterating what alot of other people have already asked. I basically have 4 days in Tokyo and one of the things on my tight agenda is to purchase some car parts, namely a Power FC. Now Ive been buying japanese magazines recently to keep up on prices but alot of the times the magazines don't list the actual price for the Power FC and instead ask you to call up instead. Now this may be fine for a local but seeing as though Im in Sydney and I cannot speak Japanese, it is pretty much impossible for me to get an idea of what kind of prices these go for nowadays. To cut a long story short, Im curious to know whether buying straight from Japan would be cheaper than buying online from Greenline or Nengun? Greenline's prices especially seem very good and are even cheaper to some of the prices Ive seen in some Jap magazines. Would any of you locals know how much they go for over there? To be more specific it will be for my S14a ie. ~96-99 model. BTW, does anyone know how much cheaper Japan is than HK? As im also going there straight after. Or is HK actually cheaper (Im assuming japan should be cheaper) ?

Yep they actually have a whole website dedicated to it, go to http://www.grippingdrive.com.au/launch.asp and click on the Interactive TV link. It is the exact ad they show on TV over here

The whole point is to market the product so that people will buy it, Mitsubishi are not going to make their product look bad if they want it to sell. They use the Commodore and Falcon because they're the main competitors and share the same target market as the Magna. So if a buyer was contemplating the idea of buying either of the 3, theyre hoping to make the buyer see an advantage in buying the Magna as opposed to the Commodore and Falcon. Why do you think Commodore ads and Falcon ads tend to make each themselves seem better than each other?

what happened to siu_loong_bao? If you're there, im wondering whether you've recieved my email about the group buy?
-
i dont think the P1's come in 18's, so my guess is no. Depending on tyre quality, Id say budget around $200-$250 a tyre for 17's (for decent ones, that will actually improve grip) so $800-$1000 (for tyres) + $1399.95 = 17" Buddy Club P1's + tyres

im interested in the group buy, but having watched on a couple forums (mainly silvia ones) the number of different shops (ie. slidewize, modyourcar, mercury motorsport) which are offering the group buy, it gets all abit confusing when they all start to undercut each other. Obviously I would go for the one which sets the lowest price (including shipping), and im sure most people are thinking the same. At the moment mercury motorsports one sounds most enticing, although until it is confirmed whether shipping is included in the $1299 price tag. I would still be leaning towards slidewize. Im not too fussed who the group buy is purchased from in the end, but maybe showing that there is competition out there for slidewize they might offer us a better deal yet?

ahh so 'it' wont be a problem very good indeed! Now its time to save up some cash

great to see someone finally selling some of the more unknown brands (in australia anyway). I love the URAS front bar for the s14 series 2 (would match my car perfectly ), I will know where to go when I finally decide to purchase some cosmetics for my car. Love the range of rims too, is the import tax limit still $1000AU?

R33 GTST vs S14/S15 vs 180 vs 300zx
200sx replied to supra's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
not to be bias but i say the s14/s15 should beat the r33 (from past experience). Not sure about the 300zx though. R33's are heavier than the s14/s15 and between the s14 and s15, the s15 should win due to a ball bearing turbo, lighter body and better diff. A friend of mine has a stocky 180sx and that used to beat my s14 when stock and another friend's stocky r33 too. But im sure that 180's shouldnt be THAT quick normally, just that his happens to be a bit of a freak. -
ahh sh!t, I gotta park there when I go to lunch And I go around that time too. I didn't think it'd be that bad during business hours with so many people walking around. Any ideas whereabouts the car was parked exactly? Which level?

Help with AutoWatch alarm - XCUZME & Friski please help!
200sx replied to Scotty's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I was referring to the Brant Nemesis since that was the quote he received, whereas my bro was able to get it at a lower price. I think as a company you would assume that they would only allow qualified installers to install their products and that they meet a certain standard so that they dont tarnish their reputation. Do Brant have resellers? or do they have their own installers? -

my bro had the nemesis sytem installed on his s15 a few months ago, (around 6months) and managed to get it done for $990. This came with all those features mentioned with the exception for the auto window closure thingy and the pager. Try bargaining with them abit and see if you can get it down lower because i dont see why someone should be paying $300-400 more than another person when buying the same product.
