Oh my mistake, I read that wrong. I read that if you have a manual license and you're driving an auto you get in trouble. I am pretty sure that you can lose demerit points for driving a manual with an auto license.

What? That's ridiculous. No... If you have a manual license you do not have any restrictions in regards to driving auto or manual. lol.

Not exactly the same, but my point was that it is not always the fault of the person behind, at least not in everyone's eyes, and the most important people; the insurance companies. Your father in law's situation sounds a lot better than my sister's and hopefully the pictures, the fact that there are no skid marks and your lawyer are convincing enough. Best of luck.

My sister had a similar thing happen to her. Apparently she changed into the other guy's lane and braked too quickly and he ran into the back of her car. Although it makes me question this guy's driving style if he would not have time to brake and stop before hitting her. Whatever. Fact is my sister's car didn't get fixed and now I'm driving it.

I've heard/seen in car manuals not to have too much weight on your key chain, and a few people have said something like that too. I have a total of 3 keys, one is my car, one for the screen door of my house and one for the garage side door and a very light penguin key chain. My mum and sister are good examples of a decent weighted bunch of keys, over time they've lessened the crap after me bugging them all the time. I don't understand what the issue is but seriously, I don't think you need more than 6 keys (and that's pushing it) and 8 key chains.

While the speed limit might be 100 for those types of roads in some areas, there are also heaps of signs that advise which speed to do for the type of corner coming up. Anyone that completely ignores those deserve what they get. In some places there are also signs that state slippery when wet, slippery when icy (or whatever) etc. I'm pretty certain that everyone here appreciates the signs that tell them the suggested speed and what type of corner is coming up so I don't think it's fair of you to say "use a bit more common sense". End of the day, ideally, all drivers should know their car's limits and the conditions that they are driving in and drive to accommodate for that. A good example for most of you here is speed humps, they might say 20km/h but for some of you that would cause you to hit your head.

Seen that pink car around my area (where it lives apparently) there is an equally riced out blue car that also lives there, I'll go get a picture one day. Know where that pink car works too, or at least seen the car there like 5 times during work hours.

Worst thing I've ever done is in my '76 Galant which has no power at all.. In the wet, first time it had rained in months, started off from a red light when it turned green, turning right onto the main road and wasn't pushing it at all from memory and did a 180 and a bit. Luckily the car in the other turning lane made it past me and a car behind me had the brains to stop. Also lucky that it was two lanes.

Good work there with the driving course. That reminds me that I should do one soon too.

ABS doesn't tend to work unless you're braking - also brakes don't work to well when the car is already drifting/sideways. I can understand that you're upset, but really you have nobody else to blame.

Maybe you should ask your girlfriend in that case. Failing that, I think you can ask for a photo of the driver or at least the car.. Not entirely sure on that though. Best of luck.

Yeah I saw a red R35 turning at traffic lights while I was waiting to turn and I actually let out a little squeak. They really look amazing. Such a head turner. Didn't get a look of the plates but I am pretty sure they were the normal 3 letters and 3 numbers format. As for the one you saw, no idea. Sorry. ^_^

They only had one real GTR and the rest were GT-Ts modded to look like a GTR. Hopefully I won't be able to notice that in the movie.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. It looks really great compared to the early trailer that I saw of them stealing the petrol and about 20 seconds of flashes from the rest of the movie. I watched a 20 minute behind the scenes video and I am very impressed. Enjoy the movie mate.

Yup.

I didn't think we had many pursuits here in Australia, let alone Victoria. Almost everyone I know would certainly accept their fault(s) (if they were speeding or otherwise breaking road rules/the law) and stop when the lights are flashing behind them. That was certainly an eye-opening post. Is anything being done about this, is it being looked into?
