Skyline R32 Clutch Disengagement Problem
Bl4cK32 replied to ezekiel10's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Did u have the carrier replaced for one that suits the clutch u are using for the box its in (like blind said ^ ) ? -
since when did anything relativly useful / factual come from ns.com?

Diff (i`m Lost)
Bl4cK32 replied to daryl the pony's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
R200 i think (from vague memory) refers to the size of the crown wheel (ie 200mm - r200) nope fer the gtr diff. The hubs are different that bolt to the axles. Your best option for a mech diff is just looking at geting the nismo, or kaaz centre. There is a reason everyone uses them -
Diff (i`m Lost)
Bl4cK32 replied to daryl the pony's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
factory diffs run a viscous lsd centre. Fitting a mechanical centre only replaces the centre. The ratio is determined by the crown wheel and pinion of the diff. These are fitted / part of the existing diff, so once u install the new mechanical centre the ratio will be the same as it was before. the only factory mechanical i think there is, is the r34 gtr? But i dont think you can simply drop these in. Someone with more knowledge will know. 99% of the time ppl with r33s willl drop in an aftermarket one (Nismo, Kaaz etc) Drive shaft is still the same, as the diff housing is the std one u use (just the centre needs replacing) r200 short nose is the diff type you have. stick with the factory ratio you have 4.11 -
due to the age of the 32 these days its a fact of owning the car. Replace one hose, the next weakest will go. Try to find where the leak is, or get a shop to do it.

32's have a hydraulic clutch setup, so no cable. Under the dash you can adjust the pedal throw, so maybe take a quick look under there and check out the pedal box at the same time. The boxes have snapped (mine and about 5 others i know) have done them. Squeaking and weird noises from the pedal are a early sign.

nothing in the end. Its why they let stuff pass through and people seem to think something is legal. Just gives them something else to put down when you drive out the door. Yer gunna have to do the bs again and prove its legal.

Have u got the bush in round the right way? If you cant sit the rack down it sounds like something is off...? I cant remember when i did mine, but from memory the stirrup pulled down onto the new bush a little.

Hey, i got one... an idea that is... WANTED TO BUY
-
dont buy stronger ones, just install factory ones, and make sure they are put in with the nuts to correct torque. They always snap on the 20 and 25's due to the long arse cast exhaust manifold (u dont see 26's snapping em with their small 2 piece ones) or people who over tighten the nuts. It doenst take much for them to be at the correct torque so go easy.

looks nice pretty close to the 3lt in the 32...uses ~10Lt /km

They arnt if you know where to look

Whose arguing Simply having a normal discussion as per forum rules without resulting to insults is perfectly fine. Yes, but i specifically said This is where i would think that the tt might cause the problem agreed
-
Ok. To say something is impossible (not capable of occurring or being accomplished or dealt with; something that cannot be done) then to say only if in case of a catastrophe doesn't make sense. Pretty big if, considering most people like to diy, or let a savvy friend do it Any large impact throwing the driver unconscious, causing an electrical fault never likely of happening or hasnt happened in the past? I agreed with u Im sorry please clarify? I dont understand how parking sensors could make the car run after an accident? AI and Cruise controls are factory fitted in most cases, and if found to be aftermarket would have an affect on insurance claims if they found them to blame in any way. Same as for any mod.. No arguments. I agreed with what you said, just added that nothing is impossible.
-
Impossible means that there would be no chance, but who really knows what will happen in an accident or when? There are no laws for TTs so all 3 of the things u listed above would be ideal, but how many brands sold have all 3 as a failsafe when installed? For #2 above there is always the chance that you would be knocked unconscious like i said, which means yer, you would have hit the brake before impact, but then doesnt mean u can still be chomping the pedal when the shit hits..#3 i guess there is the chance as well that in the accident that there would be an electrical failure somewhere...short circuit...who knows.. So i guess even though its more likely to not happen, id still wouldnt rule out that there is no chance at all..

i care more about the fact that the car would still be pumping fuel into the engine bay if your upside down (or just generally trapped) still in the car unconscious...

wtf are talking about? If you cant have a normal conversation without resorting to trying to belittle the other person, then why should people even bother with what advice you have to give? My original point was for a defect on a car. You have missed this point twice, so ill ive said it for you again. Re read what ive said. If you passed this time, and get sent back next time, just because you got through with the mod doesnt guarantee the next person will, so by you saying someone will get through with a mod "based on your experience" is wasting everyones time as we all know how inconsistent Regency is, which is why if you follow the ADR's then you cant (in 99.9% of cases) be defected for it. Numbers checks dont mean squat for most mods. Going through regency 5 times doenst mean anything to anyone else. All it means is that you never learnt how to stay out of the damn place.. Have fun yourself. Im out...
-
Ok firstly.. Numbers check. Completly different to a defect notice. The op is going for a numbers check only and you wont get a defect 99% of the time while doing this, and making sure there arnt any obvious defects is the safest thing to cover your own arse in the long run. Which is the point of the OPs asking to borrow parts in the first place... Now..i replied to your original post based on if he gets defected. I simply suggested he ring them and let him make up his own mind, based on the info regency give him, because then only then will he have someone to blame for mis information, not word of mouth off the interwebs. Now, for the rest of what u have said...I replied I never listed wheels, front mount ic, or filters so i dont know why u mentioned them. The bonnets however, in the past few years lots of members here in the past have been defected and told to remove them as they dont meet ADR's as im sure you would know because in an accident they wont perform as the factory intended, and u would possibly void your insurance in a crash. Like i said, if im wrong, show the the laws regarding that they are legal and ill shut my mouth. External pumps in skylines arent allowed in SA, so you got lucky. Coilovers...well i personally know someone who has been through the process of getting them engineered, and spent a lot of money doing so, only to be told by regency that they are illegal, cert or not. It doesnt matter that you have been through 3 times before or not, because 99% of others here that have and will go through have/will be told the same that they are illegal. Im not aggressive and dont try to be, but theres so many people on this forum who give mis-information as fact, when it only based on experience, not the damn law. Emo hat...please. Dont result to try insult if u dont read posts in the first place.
