  1. rule of thumb is if you are asking how to tune your car then dont do it yourself. Get a tuner and a dyno
  2. Ive got a few parts here waiting to do the swap myself. Got the guards so far just havent bothered to do the rest. Do what u want i say.
  3. old cam bolts have been known to snap once re used. Few cases in the past here on sau of people fitting new cams then one bolt lets go. Cheap insurance to make sure job will last.
  4. dont get me wrong the only 2 games i liked were colin mcrae and gran turismo when playing with mates
  5. welcome to teh interwebs boys. My personal opinion = waste of time buying consoles for gaming.
  6. overpriced gaming console that charges $100 a slug per game maybe? Or the fact u need a high def tv to get some good use of teh eye candy?
  7. yerp i had one in when i bought my car from the previous owner fitting it. I had to remove the driveline to fit my 3lt and while the clutch was out i replaced it. Simple fact is buttons suck for a daily driver, or carpark shopping. Anyone who uses em on the street will make em slip soon. This is like the 10th person ive heard recently complain. I also noticed they burn out the std flywheel as well which is a bitch, but lucky i bought a os twin to replace it with (flywheel incl.) The pedal feel is back close to stock, it doesnt slip or shudder from carparks, and will handle anything i throw at it.
  8. seriously why would u want to? I mean the cyliners are 78mm vs the 86mm (or something way off as im not familiar with rb25 specs) The cylinder size difference, let alone the valve sizing (29 vs 36?) would be enough to make anyone not want to do it. Boost is a measure of resistance to airflow so if u have smaller ports/valves then u need to cram more air in (more boost) to get the same number as u would using a 25 head. If i were u id be slapping the 25 head on and enjoy a lower boost level for the same power u had before. Cubes and i had our heads mildly ported before doing the 3lt and i can tell u we dont have to push as much air in as some to make some good power.
  9. If i were u id be looking at getting a mould made or some copies to help either pay for it, or incase something happens to it (damage)
  10. because telling ppl to pay for a rad flush isnt helping anyone. Unless u need a new top tank replaced or pressure test, then a quick way to save some cash is to service your own rad system regularly, like manwhore has posted. Ive seen numerous workshops show customers faulty parts that wasn't even on the customers car and say yes, we replaced this see here then proceed to charge a large repair bill. The more things u do yourself the less likely u will get ripped.
  11. ps pump sold pending payment.
  12. Its an easy job to do yourself and u can save the $200 for something else
  13. U can get a top tank replaced for cheap. Its not worth playing with cooling items as they tend to let go when u dont want em to (read hot day out in the middle of nowhere stuck with no phone credit ) Or pickup a cheap rad off the forums..
  14. doesnt sound too profesional if hes managed to get 2 to go. Are they aftermarket items? Did he clean the hose to make sure no dirt was going into the new slave? Slaves are a rare thing to go...
  15. yerp mine came off a while ago...been meaning to get in there and glue it in again
  16. u could narrow it down if u had an idea of power goals now and in the future...
  17. Sounds like an injector issue. Have u had them cleaned or looked at? How new is the fuel pump?
  18. Dont jump to conclusions its a headgasket straight away. Brown coloured coolant is usually just a sign of rust build up in the coolant galleries. Get your cooling system flushed properly (power flushed at a rad place is good) and have it pressure / leak tested. Replace the thermostat and coolant and u are good to go for 12 months.

  21. i had my car for 3 yrs before i got a fine or defect. Was going home from the shops and got pulled over doing nothing. Give it time. Statistics mean the longer u are out there the more likely u will be done sooner or later. We should have a poll to see who hasnt had a defect as of yet, and if not how long u have had the car...
  22. Theres a well known saying amongst riders...theres old riders and theres fast riders...but theres no old fast riders
  23. Form the looks of it the ign barrel was still intact. They had a separate key barrel which had been wired in up under the dash from what i saw....?
