  1. do you have the car, or has it been sitting in their workshop? Id be telling them to f**k off by now for wasting your time. Surely the engine would be covered somehow, if someone stuffed the build, much the same as if you had a std engine built that went pop. Engines not running right, looks like its our f**kup so we'll shift it aside and deal with it later.
  2. owner posted here, but it was deleted by the looks. It was covered by insurance.
  3. moreso the knowledge of where it is at an instant can help recovery before its used in other crimes.
  4. im not sure what your point is? Again, pete's reply was that a highflow is a waste of money, as it would fail the epa test and if you went through an inspection without a cat, then expect a fine. Here in SA, you only need the one defect to be sent for a full inspection (can be a few things like noise etc) and then fined just for being defected
  5. Im not disagreeing with anything you have said, other than ask for an example of when someone was actually fined 10K for failure to not run a cat converter.
  6. if its electronic, there are small control boxes you can install to adjust the signal to the speedo, like they use on motorbikes.
  7. Show me proof that anyone here or elsewhere in AU has been fined the full amount of 10K for not running a cat converter. Pete was stating that its better to run a std cat than a high flow - which probably wont pass.
  8. after a thrashing from being stolen? unlikely...
  9. appears to be an old chart I think....r32 is lower now than the 360mm front n rear.
  10. Id be tracking down the issue first before throwing other items into the mix. Your running the same cams as I am and cubes did to start, which worked fine. Not sure if we mentioned it, but Cubes looked around and picked our engine builder at the time we did ours. The builder was also the machinist, who was used to do v8s. No special knowledge of RB motors, only going off the information Cubes gave him. Its an almost proven setup, you just need to find that gremlin. If you get stuck finding cams, ive got 2 sets here and cam gears I can lend you.
  11. Howdy, Im after the following items : rb20det 2 piece tail shaft, the one that goes from the gearbox to the diff. Also after a 2 door coupe drivers door GTR or GTST (both are the same), preferably in black and in good condition. Id prefer one in good nick (no dents or scratches) so I dont have to paint it, but it doesnt have to be complete with door card or glass. Located in Adelaide, but willing to pay postage if the price is right cheers.

  13. Lol, forged pistons. Its not a requirement, but people do ad much as possible while the motors out. Rebuild with new bearings, balance then forged pistons if u like
  14. ive got a kit here i can sell you i bought, but never needed to use.
  15. Rocking horse poo?
  16. im not disagreeing, they balanced mine to something like 0.5g using a hines balancer. Its definitly worth doing to a street engine though as it can help with engine life and fuel economy.
  17. when i had my engine built, they balanced everything from the front pulley, back to the os giken twin plate clutch. I brought the motor home, the crank had been marked, as well as the clutch where to line them up when installed. If i replaced the clutch, then it would get balanced the same as this clutch was.
  18. does anyone know the best place to get a complete front cut from? Id like to know prices and condition. Dont want one thats been stripped of all the bits and pieces like headlights, indicators etc.
  19. Chris mentioned in his other thread that the parts appear to no longer be available from Nissan. The only way to get a factory cruise control would be to find one fitted to a car. Im unsure if all 32s use the same loom, but its probable that they did, in which case the plugs would be definitely there in the GTR as well as all the gtst models.
  20. can sometimes be put down to pad type and the usage people give them. Running hot track pads on the street will see them glaze over and start squealing. I run rb74 in std 32 GTR rotors and did the above and they never squeal on the street. Ran em in so they were smoking hot on fresh rotors
  21. depends on the piston height to start with. Cubes and i used rb25 weiscos at the time we did ours and had to deck the blocks to make the pistons sit flush due to the lower pin height.
  22. timing has been checked apparently, but i still personally think its time for a second opinion.
  23. if its perfectly fine when cold, then specs are ok. Time to start looking at things like you mentioned exhaust and other things that get affected by the heat.
