  1. Shaun actually mounts the AM pumps in the same spot as std so u get the same pickup location. U need to measure the old one, then mount the new in the same spot using the factory filter sock as well...
  2. buy a new one, or blow it out from the inside
  3. gtr calipers + rotors = bolt on, nothing else needed. btw - there is another section for this stuff...
  4. yer the speedo end.
  5. could u make your sig a little bigger gazza, it doesnt quite fill my 52" plasma screen enough?
  6. valve guides only blow smoke first thing in the morning as the oil drips down overnight then burns off when u first start the car in the morning. If it was valve stem seals u shouldn't see smoke after that initial start. This was one of the reasons Cubes and myself spent extra to get the head recon'd before the bottom end was built. No point having a fresh bottom end then slap on a 100k+ old head on it Try a leakdown test, then look at the turbo.
  7. u need to remove the cable from the box, where it comes through the firewall is a couple of bolts on a plate, then u have to remove your speedo cluster and it pops out. A place here in Adelaide actually can put a new steel end on the cable which should never break.
  8. go the car loan. Im in the same spot, and the sooner i get the debt off the better....
  9. thats what the wasteland is for..

and then i said..."where the hell did u get a thing like that" and we were all like OMG!!!
  12. thanks mum.
  13. Yerp the extreme one i had in the car when i got it had burnt the std flwheel a little, and no doubt would have led to some slippage. Good idea on the replacement with that clutch. Now ive been using the OS twin for a while, i doubt ill ever go back. Its softer than the ceramic, and soo much nicer to drive. I dont think Cubes will need a new clutch soon, just a nice shift kit for an auto
  14. Pics of exhaust? Catback only, front pipe, or full system?? $10 fer airbox
  15. Can he guarantee that? Is he willing to replace anything on your car if it blows? Is he responsible if something goes wrong? Just because hes an engineer for 20 years doesnt mean he knows shit about you or your car. Yes numerous people have put additives in their car before, and numerous people have burked their engines by it running too hot / out of tune / wrong mixtures. People recommend it to clear carbon, and clean the fuel system, but not recommended for long runs on it. If u get your car tuned to suit then go on a long trip, are u gunna have a few litres of alcohol in the boot to top the tank off with? No need for agro mate, ive seen the results of people doing it, and yes motors have died. Your valves dont like excessive heat and can melt and drop into the bore, which HAS happened to a board members here. I guess i wont bother in the future...fyi go put some toluene (recommended fuel additive) in a plastic cup and tell me it wont have any effect on rubber hoses.
  16. im at 330mm in the front, 350mm in the rear. @ the correct height, im 30mm too low in the front, and 10mm to low in the rear. @ 375mm (if this was measured) id obviously be 45mm too low in the front, and 25mm in the rear.
  17. The nice policeman politely showed me on the front of one of his books the list of thigs which either require a VIS inspection, or just a police station clearance. Suspension shows a vis check. Then he tells me "If it was an oil leak, that only requires a trip to the police station. See here". The funny part was he was looking for what height the car is supposed to be std. He then sees r32 GTR and says "Yes, see it says here 275mm..." I then proceed to show him in his book that mine is listed as a r32 GTST and yes, the height is supposed to be 360mm (I cant remember now though for some reason...too much trauma) not the 275 he was going to measure.
  18. of course it will work. but your likely to stuff something up. Its the same as adding toluene to your car which is the same again, but its actually designed as a fuel system cleaner. Make sure u get the mix right as u can bllow your motor, or even drop a valve. It might not like it either as without a tune to suit u are wasting your time. Remember the lines in your engine bay are 12+ years old now, so say bye bye that were on the way out
  19. Quick question to make sure ive got it right - When adjusting the height on the bilstein shocks. when i put the circlip down one slot is that raising or lowering the car? and vice versa??
  20. r32 gtst springs they are. The previous owner had them on my car to put the car at std height. What would this pair be good for? (besides raising the car up )
  21. $600 buck in labour if i send it out. Id have to pay for parts either way, but if i do it this way i dont pay someones 10% on top. Only thing i dont have is a press, but i can get someone to do that for me.
  22. as per the manual, with feeler gauges etc When i need to get something pressed i'll just go see how much i can get it done for at a local workshop.
  23. Anyone tried to rebuild a r33 gtst before? Is it possible to do it at home with a few tools? Ive got the R32 GTR service manual and it shows how to disassemble the box and put it back together again, so if i use it as a guide would that be ok? Will take pics of everything as i do it for reference though. Just going to stick a bearing set in for now, and get the syncros checked. Any tips?
  24. Coil ID = 66mm / 96mm Wire OD = 13mm # of Coils = 8.5 turns Just a set of std fronts for an r32. Just like to know what they are rated at
  25. KPM have to send em out to do the machining so it looks like Manta will be getting th job done for me.
