thanks. Looks like i only really need an rb20 afm - or a r33 series 1 green sticker one Im wondering if they would let my Bilsteins through?? I can get em set to std height via the circlip. Manta racing will machine a groove to put em up to std height for me. Just gunna paint em black and set then to std height, and hope for the best

Springs that came with em . Bought all 4 as a set about 3 years ago. Ill get under there and have a look to get measurements for SK to work out the spring rates. I rang an engineering shop here in Adelaide, but he had no idea what i was talking about. He said he didnt know if they could do it as the body of the shock would be a small wall thickness?? Obvious he has no idea.. I'll have to rip em out, and drop em off HOPING that they dont stuff em up...

any aftermarket is illegal as it changes the cars emissions. Highflows are popular as it still looks stock

As topic states, i need new grooves machined in my bilstein shockers. Anyone know somewhere that can do this for me? Currently the fronts sit at 330mm and the rears are 340mm. I want to have them done so i can put the car at std height (360mm all around) to clear a defect. They have 3 grooves machined on there already, and its at the max now on the fronts, so i need another groove say 30mm down (to raise the car) and the rears need one groove about 20mm to raise it to 360mm. Places in adelaide dont know what im on about, so id have to take out the shocks to show them, but i dont want em to stuff around as they havent done it before. After its off defect i will raise the car to sit at 340/350mm as per SK's recommended height.

This is my first defect in this car of owning it for nearly 4 years. U can fix the car (in my case it lists too low, so just raise the car) and go to the cop shop - if there is a long wait to get into regency, and they will sign off and stamp the back of the defect notice to allow me to drive as per normal anywhere i want. When i go to Regency its a complete inspection regardless if it has "non std gear knob" on the form or not.

Im after a set of std r32 gtst suspension. Either a full set, or just the fronts without springs (i have a set of springs at home), or the rears with springs. Let me know what u have and what u want for it. Needed to clear a defect. thanks

thats why im going back to 100% stock. Im luck ive kept most of my gear as ive modded, except the items im loaning off cubes. It really bullshit as there is nowhere to check if u can pass the emissions before hand, so its a multiple pass through for most people. Looks like a new way of making more money... I'll be running stock boost, but for good measure i may throw on the std catback as well...

you answered your own quetsion. Yes u are right. Yes R32 gtr Sumitomos use the same pad as r33 gtst.

u should actually use the aircon with the heater to demist the front windscreen in winter as well. Not using it for a few months a year is what makees the aircon stuff up in the first place.

r33 gtst calipers are identical to 32 gtr ones.

have u run the diagnostic aircon check?

yer ecu is coming out, and that means injectors are as well (550 rx7 ones dont run too well even with remap std ecus) im not too worried about the gb, Cubes and i have done it a few times now and from memory got it in last time in about 1/2 hour edit/ thats an hour out, then /2 hour to get it back in the next day

What x-member are u using Andrew? Mine looks a little dodgy is all. Id rather go through once, than have another defect for a few different items. If i return it to stock its not that hard really, Cubes has 90% of what i need, + i still have me std ecu + injectors etc...

They just look for the colour of the sticker to see if its std. Mine being a q45 its yellow as opposed to the green of the r32 std one. I should be set for parts now, as Cubes is swapping the gearbox and x member with me when he goes for the auto. If i think of anything else, or need anything i'll post up

nope origionally he saw the exhaust under the car, which is a tad low, but not illegal. Then just saw the front when i pulled over, and stayed with what he could prove...
