  1. my 2c is throw the time book out the window. Do what you can to the car, and see what you can improve on. Otherwise everyone will keep shooting you down telling you what you cant do, rather than help....like a lot of replies so far. Good luck, and hope it goes well.
  2. yerp I would assume they would let these through, as the only adjustment is via a circlip, which if there is only one groove means no other adjustments.
  3. just want to know what people are using for suspension when they go through for an inspection? 20 year old std suspension is well gone, and im not paying $200 for a set that might pass or leak, so whats the deal these days? Would they allow a set of Bilsteins pass at legal height? They arnt adjustable like the normal "screw up and down" type like you normally see, just a circlip adjustment.
  4. interested to see how you attach the gtr tank. Its mounted different than the regular pos metal gtst one
  5. TS Magna rebuilt head, ready to bolt on. New seals etc, will throw in a new headgasket for it as well. Sell - $300 Pm here for details. cheers
  6. do a leak down test, then start looking further
  7. I have one small patch of rust, but its in the inner channel. The part where once the glass retracts into the roof you can then see it. As for the drainage, I assumed (havent had a chance to strip it out to look) that it was similar to other cars where it would start at the top corners and exit via drain tubes inside each panel to the closest corner of the car, like the two rear ones would be connected to tubes that go down inside the c pillars to exit out the bottom of the boot somewhere...? I dont have FAST avail, or I would spend some time looking. I know that when I worked building panels for holdens it was a similar setup.
  8. awesome rebuild detail. Was contemplating how far to go with mine, this sorta puts it in perspective. Any chance you could take a pic of the new sunroof you sourced? Mine has worn rubbers in it, but the whole thing still works perfect. If i take it out, was wondering how easy it would be to slap some aftermarket rubber seals around it to reseal it.
  9. the original post was in 2008, id say that the sale is long gone now...3 years later
  10. door / panel sorted, still interested in the above.
  11. just to help you out, http://www.transdirect.com.au/ offer door to door courier and are damn cheap. They offer free quotes via the website too, so worth checking out.
  12. NEED the following for an r32 gtst: Drivers 1/4 panel - black preferred, in exc. cond. drivers door - again black, same as above. Would like the following : std exhaust to get through regency r32 gtst std diff rb20 engine mounts - the metal brackets, not the rubber mounts r32 gtst headlights in good nick Let me know how much etc, cheers. BTW, if you have parts (like a diff) id prefer if it was ready to go, not "ill pull it out next week" which never seems to come.
  13. Im pretty sure when you take the car in for inspection, it wont be "on the system" yet as a car on the road. Doing the roadworthy to get rego is clearing it at the same time also, so once inspected, they would then add you and at the same time it would be cleared of any defect.
  14. auto part shop monkeys are a joke. They hire sales people, not spare parts experts. I tried to get a rocker cover gasket for a magna, and ended up leaving after trying to explain to the guy the difference between a rocker cover gasket and a head gasket...
  15. Anyone tried this?
  16. Non car related, but anyways... I need a cheap laptop to use for uni. Around the $300-350 mark, may spend a little more if its near there. Needs at least a 15" screen. Usage will be internet (needs wifi), word processing, and java programming. Any extras will be a bonus. Let me know what you got around that, and ill consider it. Cheers.
  17. As per title, I have 32GTR front calipers and discs (non brembo) on my 32 gtst. Was hoping someone would know if the 32gtst standard rims (16x6.5")? would fit over them? thanks.
  18. Done it a few times. Have a read on the net to see how to apply / work the resin (once its mixed) to the sheets also. Follow the instructions and its pretty easy. Also, when you go to wash up after using it or sanding, use cold water as hot / warm water opens the pores of your skin and the fibre dust gets in and it itches like hell
  19. Not with Just Cars. Long story, but parked at a mates house and the neighbor over the road decided to back out the driveway and use the whole road to reverse out...my car copped it in the drivers 1/4 panel, front bar, door and side skirt. Anyway, im claiming through the other parties insurance and they want a quote to approve...
  20. I thought the use of these was dismissed a few years ago. Street driven cars dont need one. Or do we all fang it til its red hot just before we pull in the driveway? Normal driving wont have need for one, more so because once you park the car, its just heat soaking the engine.
  21. Only reason i found out was it was happening to my old 20, then replaced it with the 3lt and the same symptoms happened with the new motor. No airflow through a fresh system..had me wondering. Only old thing i reused was the clutch. Factory cooling works fine though for a lot of thrashing as long as its left intact, shroud included.
  22. had the same issue with mine, turned out to be a stuffed clutch hub on the fan. Coolant would spew into overflow and boil, then suck it all back in. How old is the one on yer car?
  23. I only really need is someone to do a quote on it atm as its an insurance job. The quote has to then go off and be approved etc before I get the damage fixed and painted so im in no rush to get it down right there and then. Id like to see about getting the whole car repainted though
