2 things I can think of are: heat soak from the engine bay that warms the intake pipes...when they get warm/hot feels much less responsive and it does loose some power.. but obviously the next day should be back to normal... or the option I think is more likely: slightly popped cooler pipe, revving right out= full boost = highest pressure you've set and the most likely time a cooler pipe would pop off... but sometimes they don't completely pop off... so go around, check all the silicon joins and make sure theres no leaks.. gl, Adam

you have to realise not all cops know about cars and if on the build plate it says this car is a turbo charged vehicle and you say its not who is he going to believe? So the answer to the question of why is because the policeman does not know how to tell if it is turbocharged or you cannot prove its not turbocharged...

Not that this will change your view on any of this but you should be aware that just because you have removed the motor with the turbo attached to the side of it and replaced with a non turbo, does not mean the police will think or believe your car is non turbo as all the registrations for the car will always say turbo and thus you will be fined. wait for a clean N/a skyline to pop up, they do, but it can take months, or by a crap box and get something special when your off the p's.

exactly the same thing happened to me, 3 days after I got my tint done professionally at tint professor and asked to make sure tint was legal... cop picked me up about a km away from the tint professor... in the end i got off, but had to cut a hole in my tint.... tint professor did say however that when im off my p's they will replace the back tint for free and they did

ive got Mitchelen pilots on, they are on the wear line on the inside of the wheel because of camber and about 2mm off the wear line on the outside.. im assuming that should be enough tread then.... because im getting new tyres a couple days after this....

I always put 2 stands and wheels to be extra safe... plus have 2 1500kg jacks... reason is my gf's brother was working on his old vs commo wagon about 4 years ago, his jack gave way as he was sitting on the ground with his legs underneath the car, if he didn't put his wheels under the car aswell, he would have been an amputee up to nearly his hips... be safe when modifying everyone!

I was actually thinking i should give mine a compression test the other day as I have noticed a little bit more blow-by then normal when on full boost.... car still running sweet though so not too worried. Dont suppose you have a S1 aircon line from firewall to the unit? normally with silver heatshielding over the entire lenth of the pipe?

Does it have a tune? 5. work out what mods it has we cannot give you any advice or thoughts without more information... in regards to the "boost tap": a boost tap will not bring it down, it can only make the boost (psi) go up....

I agree, the plastic wont make him a better driver or handle a more powerful car, but thats the law and if they were nice about it then sure, they would have given him a warning, but as he's said, they were out to get him and therefore in black and white he was on his p's so the car was too powerful, sucks but its the truth.

For the record, I also received mine in the mail about 2 days before I turned 21 aswell, just paid online and they are now sending them out as for you being 20 and not displaying p plates I don't think you can get out of it. why? because: 1. how old were you on the day you got picked up? 20... minimum age (im pretty sure unless maybe special circumstances) for full license is 21 in VIC 2. regardless of when you received your full license in the mail, you still were a probationary driver according to the law... they did the right thing... just because you have the little bit of plastic, doesn't mean your now a full licensed driver. Infact, isn't there something in there that says when it is valid from? Simply put yeh the defects are a pain, but you put them in and risked getting caught or you bought the car with them in and didn't both to change them so also your fault and YOU took down your plates because the little bit of plastic with your picture on it says your a fully licensed driver... obviously once those entire 3 years of p's are complete, not a week before. I'd be more pissed off at myself tbh...

I second just getting a good panel filter OR making it yourself. A pod and a small heatshield did nothing by themselves, but added with a CAI, there was a decent noticeable difference and no defects from the cops. so save your money and spend it on something useful, ie extractors and exhaust system. By the way, K&N is fine, but unfortunetly they are oil based and over time the oil can coat over the afm and cause idling issues. I would recommend a non oil based one. In fact, look up best car air filters or something like that because a car mag did a review on the best filters and a cheapy 20 dollar non oil based one beat them all.
