Nem, Nick, you might be thinking of me? Still lurk around these areas and motor is still going strong. Wiix your mechanic mate is wrong. You can push more through an N/A 25 but you have to put in the money for the right parts and spend the time/money tuning it correctly. And has been said, injectors and turbo ecu for your current setup is most likely draining your power.

Making A Professional Heatsheild/pod Cover/air Box At Cost!
WYTSKY replied to WYTSKY's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Guys, good to see my tute is still going and people are producing some great results! Just thought i'd post up my cover is still working great. It's been through 3 different pods - now onto a monstrous one for a bigger turbo and it still is doing it's job. Unfortunetly I have scratched it a bit using it to rest tools on but other then that it's still in good nick. -
You don't need to make a new thread for every new question you have you know.... http://www.skylinesa...-out-their-ass/ http://www.skylinesa...wd-rocket-ship/ And btw, better to be honest and say you want a car that has some go then say the vicroads lady thought you were just a p plater wanting a turbo because infact you do and right now you are looking at alternatives to get that. Guys on here will see through it in a second. Alot of members here were/are in your position. Money factor - paying more for an N/A can't help you but I was in the same position as you, wanting a turbo, we had power to weight laws back in the days(6 years ago ) . Got an N/A - the exact model in you are talking about in "R33 2door 4WD N/A rocket ship" stock it is a ship - think titanic. In the end I choose to modify what I had, happy with the outcome, but I can say the N/A skyline in stock form is very relaible and easy to drive - a good car for a p plater to learn in and looks decent. As everyone is saying, just get an N/A if you want a skyline. Even if you get a turbo, as you said, it's 20 years old and a high chance of being tired/thrashed, not saying an N/A wouldn't either but theres generally more mechanical issues with turbos so there's more money you have to spend to get it running correctly.

FYI. GTST = Turbo, so you are after an R33 GTS.

I went for on the exhaust housing - yes if I wanted to change housing more of a pain but if a stud breaks or the manifold has to come off that can be a pain too so both have advantages and disadvantages. interms of sound, no difference as others have said. these should help give you an idea of how to mount off the housing correctly. http://www.turbosmar...tegate-fitting/ http://www.turbosmar...wastegate-work/ Adam

yep, I've had that noise, but I relocated my gtr bov when I got a bigger turbo and moved the afm to the hot side of the turbo. mine made that sound as soon as there was any boost it sounded like a train's horn, just a constant noise of what's in that video @ 6 sec. it's the bov opening on light cruise as aggroman said. can't tell you if yours is buggered or not, not sure why some people are fine and some aren't. when I did swap my gtst bov for a gtr's I did notice that the diaphragm inside the gtst one was alot harder to push in the the gtr's.... the gtr bov was fine until the bigger turbo. so I just got one similar to this -> http://www.turbosmar...umb-back-nissan that I could tighten and made it as tight as possible, which it needed to be as the bov is 15cm away from afm which could causes issues if it's leaking on idle/cruise. Not to say there is anything wrong with gtr bovs, I liked mine, but right tool for the right job. may have been this one as it is adjustable... http://www.turbosmar...duct/plumb-back but I know the current one I have is mostly black.

Hey guys, I'm getting married in about 6 weeks and if possible, I wanted to know if anyone was available to take myself and the groomsmen to the ceremony. The ceremony is in Sherbrooke forest - there is a lot of great twists and a really nice drive up the mountain, doing it in my car is alot of fun, I have considered driving the guys up in mine, but an R33 for a wedding does not have anywhere near the same presence and imo appears crass. I don't have a multitude of hundreds to spare for this, it is just something nice for the guys and myself, the girls are coming in Daimlers. What I can offer is sprits and/or slabs and/or predetermined monetary amount. The one unique thing I can offer though is we have professional photographers and I would let them take a few shots of your car if you wished and they take some amazing pictures. I think it would look quite unique having the R35 sitting in the forest in front of an old English Manor. So if you have an hour or two spare in the afternoon on the Melbourne Cup Sunday it would truly be appreciated. Regards, Adam

admittedly it was 7 enterprise, But I tried XP pro too and it was still slower then my 2gb ram atom hp 2133 with a normal hdd running xp pro. the only thing that was snappy was a cutdown version of xp that didn't have touchscreen capabilities. it is one of dell's first tablets, and part of the problem is the design doesn't have ventilation - I think they have turned down the processing power to keep heat down, might run some 3d mark tests.

I have been running Win 8 beta on a Dell tablet that originally came with win 7, but unfortunately it's horribly underpowered. it's got 4gb of ram and a 128gb ssd, but alas the atom processor makes it unbearable under 7 or 8. I put 8 on because it's "designed" for tablets - admittedly it is faster on it compared to 7. Pros: it did install the touchscreen from the windows 8 drivers and it has a good onscreen keyboard inbuilt. Copying a few files I like the little graph going up and down displaying transfer rates - however i always default back to robocopy/xcopy etc for massive transfers as it's still faster to just transfer the damn file as oppose to waste clock cylces calculating how long it will take to actually complete the bloody transfer. Cons: Few drivers still needed win 7, not a big deal. andd....... I hate with a passion the stupid "start' interface - I have had to make shortcuts all around the desktop and taskbar just to run stuff quickly. I dont want to have to go to another screen to open admin tools/ control panel. I have had to make icons on the dtop for all my normal applications (outlook, notepad, run, etc) because it's still faster clicking that. I really miss the windows button in the bottom left the access this stuff really quick. Maybe it's just for the beta or just tablets - as I havent tried on a dedicated desktop - might be better on a purpose built surface tablet, but I think I will be reluctant to switch immediately. To me it just seems counter productive to put your programs on another screen when they were readily available in 7, and theres only so many icons u can have on the quicklaunch bar.

Let's Go Rock Climbing! Sunday 16Th Sept-Hard Rock City
WYTSKY replied to WYTSKY's topic in Archived Events
Unfortunately we just couldn't get the numbers to make a booking, I tried to organise with Hard Rock as general admission, but unfortunately they didn't have enough trainers on last Sunday to cover, whereas if we got the numbers earlier and confirmed they would put more on purposely. Will post up another event in the near future. -

Hey guys, It's still pretty cold and rainy outside, no fun for driving - so why not have fun indoors? For a SAU first, we are going to go rock climbing at Hard Rock in the city! Why? Because it's cheaper to do it in a group. For $19 per person (as oppose to $30) you get: 2 full hours of rock climbing on 17 meter high walls (if they aren't too busy they might let us keep going for another 30-60 mins for free) All the climbing gear Training how to use the equipment A couple of instructors to help if needed Located on the corner of Franklin & Swanston streets, Melbourne CBD, there's parking all around the area and multiple car parks. All you need to bring is loose stretchy clothing and maybe a water bottle. Will be on Sunday, 16th of Sept at 1pm. If you are interested please post, we need minimum 10 people for this to go ahead, sooner we get the numbers the sooner I can lock it in. Don't worry if your not super fit, if you have never climbed before, the great part of a car club going climbing is 99% of us will be in the same boat and just having a good time. If you aren't comfortable going any higher no big deal, you get a fun abseil back down, there is always a spotter and you are always safe. This is a completely open event - anyone is more then welcome to join, feel free to bring a mate along. Adam

Wrecking R33 Gtst - Vic
WYTSKY replied to bluey33's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Hey mate, see the Aerial in the shots. 100% functional? If so how much? -
Glad to hear you got it sorted mate. great result! Really makes me think about adding the juice to mine too. Be really interested to know what the higher compression would do with it. How much would you estimate the additional costs were? do you have a ethanol meter? tuning etc?
