Y didnt u ever mention it before that u have an N/A Skyline aswell! U could go for all the extra effort now, changing pistons, paying for more labour, and no, not a bad idea if u want to drive the de turboed car normally for a while... but remember how I told u that cops can still say that the rego and compliance plates still say its a GTST and u still can get done... WHY would u bother? drive the n/a.... if u want to really increase the compression on the gtst after ur off ur p's then fine...

Actually... i believe those buttons are for arial up/arial down... I imagine it has an upgraded headunit? if so, thats probably why its not working...

GTR's are actually twin turbo... so there are two turbos to remove... and yeh horrible for the car.... plus the law still see it as a GTR and then ur REALLY stuffed... even though there are no turbos attached to the car... plus it will barely run... please search... this thread is 1 or 2 under yours and a bloke is just asking questions after removing a turbo from a gtst.... the outcome is pretty poor.... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Po...sh-t294259.html

Yes, id be concerned about the IQ of my mechanic if he did that too (my mechanic is me most of the time ) Also, if cops want to be asH*les they will, and even though there clearly is no turbo on the side of your car, they can say well, you have hidden it from us because your car clearly has it stamped on it as gtst.... so theres nothing u can do there... As for conceling it, I drove for over 2/3s of my p's with a turbo and a fair few mods on... hid it with a little custom heat shielding... still got defected once (cop wanted to be an ass) ... but the point is that as long as theres no whistles and hisses from an aftermarket BOV and u drive sensibily... you should be ok... better then driving a tractor of a skyline for 10 months imo... PLZ GET A standard N/A ecu... go to wreckers... look on this site... ppl have them... u just gotta look... it will atleast solve a few of your problems. Now, why not try something like this :

Please tell me you replaced your ecu with the non turbo ecu.... if not, thats your problem with running poorly... you car still thinks it has a turbo... and is accommodating the amount of air/fuel it puts into the engine. Also, your car will feel slugish, as your compression ratio is lower then an N/A skylines (due to the turbo)... id be surprised if you could beat an excel. Interms of not feeling right and clutch etc... im assuming you got it done by a mechanic? if so, have you mentioned the other things to them? I dont think they are related unless they took out your motor to de turbo it... which wouldnt be neccessary

lol... just while ur pointing at me... im almost ready to be chuck on my new goodies i went all out... im not gonna say nemore till its done but it will be fun also... i still never have a perfectly accurate measurement of my exhaust... some spots its 3.5inch... some its 3.25.... and where theres some dints its 3".... I bought the car with it on... only mod it had.... it was insanely loud... and yeh... the car barely moved in the low revs with it on... with the turbo... quitened it down heaps... almost stock decibels until the boost comes on... BTW... great example with the straws

What he just mentioned is about 5 GRAND or more worth of gear.... not to mention clutch and tyres etcc... u'd be getting close to $10,000 ... so at the end of the day...is it worth it? just asking(and assuming)...do u have a small package or something and need to show ur a man? u've got the basic stuff... buy a $50 manual boost controller and get some more boost... if he wins hes no better or worse a bloke then you...

I left about 1cm of perspex to slot and bolt in the guard... its not going anywhere, plus its modeled to the shape of the body. Cheers mate

Nathan just gave him a quick rundown of mods... in a good order too....tyres are one of the best things you can do for your car... unless u seem to think the car will stick to the ground when its wet... The performance mods are there if he wants to skip handling and traction... but lets be honest... theres not that much power to be had from an N/A skyline so focus on something else.... taking out ur back seats and removing sound deadener is not going to make a big difference..... only useful for cars to get that last few hundredths of seconds faster around the track... unless you wanna make it a bare shell with a steering wheel.

gl with the sale man, i got a full jl audio system too and could not vouch for them higher, clearest and strongest sound out there..... I'd be interested if the subs were W7's, but then again... you'd need alot more power for those.... and your car would rattle to bits....

I'd be interested to see when/if the working world decide to change over to it, as most preferred to stay with the reliable, easy to use and highly COMPATIBLE xp when vista arrived. I wanna have a play with it, but IMO after all the disappointments with vista, they should have had another version to add to their range... windows 7 lite/fast.... so essentially the newer interface but cut out the visual rubbish and background driver validators and user warnings and make it fast.... U don't want to have to upgrade your hardware just to keep it at the SAME level of performance as it was with the older OS and older H/ware. and KR4-GTR dont stress,im all for windows and dont like macs, apart from their exterior design. if I had to, id be going for unix before mac neway....

as you said you have stock ecu, i'll assume this turbo is also internal gate? if so, a good way to help not boosting while driving there is remove the actuator rod from the wastegate flap.... i did it once driving back from my tuners (45 mins) as my current turbo was on it's way out.... didnt get passed 2,700 the whole way and it was fine, didnt make boost.

But i can tell u now, run over it with a wet cloth and dry... still looks like the day i made it.... and I will prove very soon.... Not to mention i have taken it out to work on things and rested tools on it heaps of times!
