  1. hey buddy... if u look at the engine shot, u can see part of the radiator up against the engine... so im going to have a guess that its not salvageable... please correct me if im wrong Priestley gl with the part out..
  2. isnt it sorta like showing off that u have small genitals....
  3. mine didn't have the drain..... but had a perfect spot for it... on the other hand... mine had a bolt where the oil feed was..... but in the wrong spot... so they re drilled one closer
  4. as I said in Pm to skit_r31.... Racingline Motorsport ( who do not exist anymore) were the ones to tap and drill a hole for my oil line and same for the oil return in the factory location for a GTST block. Still seems to be working fine
  5. yeh definetly... and the ppl with watery black smoke around them... wtf... does not sell it for me at all.... I mean theres so many good features about the GTR and you only get a gernal overview for 5 seconds.... whos going to buy it based on that.
  6. well if it were me, id be taking off the dump pipe from the back of the turbos and checking if you still have all the fins on the turbos, I would also be taking off the intake pipes and checking the front of the turbos (where they suck in air) if its got lots of oil... if either of these things are true then its more then likely ur turbos. I would also do a compression test on the motor to be safe.... and if i didnt know how to do/check any of these things it would be straight to a reputable mechanic.
  7. It can be either the turbos or the motor. If your lucky, the turbo(s) have done an oil seal and oil+exhaust heat like that of the turbo = blue smoke. U will have to get your turbo(s) rebuilt or purchase some other ones. Otherwise it can be your rings and thats more costly. A tune will not help the situation, blue smoke always = oil. It would be wise to get it to a mechanic on a tilt tray or off boost if you are unsure, they would probably be able to diagnose the issue for you easily. When you say lag, what are you comparing to? If you just bought the car how do you know if thats not how the car drives?
  8. tough as nails!
  9. call them a muppet if it makes you feel any better get reading -> http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ve...bo-t279943.html do you really care what other ppl think?
  10. front of it makes it look like its melting.... its like the batmobile robin would choose....if he was a cross dressing whore ... and an in the closet gay
  11. until its in the middle of low and high on ur dipstick.... for me, i jack up the back of my car to get as much dirty oil out as possible and i use approx 4.9 liters
  12. I rekon you could do it from home with a little help from the boys at mighty mods. not bad idea actually.. companies do make these kits that you can buy too....
  13. I have been told a number of times ... (and I have done it this way and I also have a speco mechanical boost guage) to t-piece it off the hose that connects at the front of the stock bov...
  14. That sux mate hope u get it sorted cheapishly....although I think we both know it wont happen... on a side note... not that it matters now but maayyybe for future references, even though (well mine is) the gearbox screw is magnetic, I don't find it strong enough.... So I have an old HDD magnet on there and 3 around my oil filter... great thing is, instead of spending like 20 bux on those drift 1's the HDD magnets are much much stronger and seem to be holding more of the sludge/fine metal fragments better, just a thought and panda... if u run it on stock number boost ie 7-10psi... You can use a standard GTST computer, injectors and pump... I did for a few months while my bank account tried to recover and get a power fc... but theres not much that can be tuned then, so an emanage like N-dawg said is neccessary to do anything more and get more juice into it.
  15. Firstly... Thread revival, u must have dug for a while.. Secondly... They are not powerful... sorry to say any commodore past the VS era will demolish u, ur almost the same weight and down on power by heaps... 140kw is at the flywheel, ie what the engine makes, it losses a fair chunk of that by the time it gets to yours wheels... at the wheels... the actual power stock you put to the ground is about 95-105kw... thats it...
  16. Yeh thats a good point N-DAWG.... after I first turboed my car, I killed my clutch COMPLETLY after 4 hours.... so budget something decent for that too... I also bought new injectors, afm... intake pipe with bov ..manifold... drilled oil lines.... theres a lot to do....
  17. I ran 12psi on a stock turbo. I'm running 14-15psi on an aftermarket turbo. I'll be running about the same, possibly 1 or more psi on my new turbo. That in no way means ur car will last past 1 psi...... luck of the draw I guess. But the only thing I did was slowly up the boost from stock on the standard turbo, to 10psi then 12psi... then the oil seal went after about 6 months, then the next turbo, yet again... slowly increasing...... hint hint..
  18. I have a thought... because basically the same thing happened to me- and I have a GTS4 ( 4wd- should be a great handler in the wet) happend a few years ago ( back when i wouldn't have even known to change a flat tyre) I also did like 20 around roundabouts and the car almost spun out... turns out the tyre pressures were like 8 psi over the max in all 4 tyres... was like driving 4 bricks on the road.... and it was because I didnt have a personal tyre gauage... cuz I just went by what the servo's machine was and they are all f*cked cuz ppl dropping them/missusing them. I let some pressure out and she stuck perfect... now I keep it at a constant 4-5psi UNDER the max, seems to be best at that point. So buy a $10 tyre gauage and use that to measure ur pressures and keep it in ur car.... Adam
  19. Sorry Fellas, Jake needed them desperately, he just picked them up! otherwise he would have been driving on his hubs tomorrow without these! I hate doing that, normally I go by interest first, but I couldn't let a fellow SAU'er not have a car. Astro-boy, re ur pm... You are a very decent bloke. Sorry again to all interested parties who missed out. *SOLD*
