sounds interesting, whats the compression on the motor? at 6 psi i imagine u wouldn't need an intercooler... or a big one atleast... edit...just checked ur sig... well its safer i guess and looks shiny personally I have been pretty happy with my hypergear turbo, look them up... better then a kkr imo, but alot of these somewhat larger aftermarket turbos have a much higher efficency range... ie. at 15-16psi they really get some power and before that no where near as much.. whereas a stock 33-34 turbo came from factory running that sorta boost (about 7 from memory) so therefore would have more punch at that psi... so a vg30det turbo is probably a pretty good choice for now if u want a little head room for the future... gl with it

Running A Series 2 Rb25de On A Det Computer
WYTSKY replied to 4 door love's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i think u may be ok, possibly running a bit rich, buts thats ok.... dont fang it tho, nice and easy as the injector sizes wouldnt be as big as the turbo ones, so if u put ur foot down the injectors would probably max out...and dump a ton of fuel in the engine. when i first turboed my car, with standard turbo, injectors, etc... the car didnt know it was a turbo, the loom didnt account for it as its still a 25de loom... but i plugged in a det ecu (s1) my car is s1.... and there were no probelms, as u dont have a turbo or bigger injectors.... thats why i imagine ur mixtures are going to be screwy... but keep it at low revs and u should get her home -
Converting A Turbo R33 To N/a Non Turbo !?
WYTSKY replied to coco's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
eatkao, just have a quick check of the age of the threads u reply to, this one is close to 3 years old. -
as said above, u can go very wrong with some K&n stuff.... they are an oil based filter, meaning that the real tiny nitty gritty stuff gets trapped in the filter by the red oil (that gives it its colour). This oil can-not always- cause headaches when trying to tune the car and it is screwing with the afm as the car is sucking in oily air to try to get the right ratio to mix with fuel... this can happen when u clean them and u reapply the oil and u put too much on, or even from just chuking one on from new.....so imo, better to go for a dry pod...

I have the same, the second version in black, works really well...

well, as everything is now done in terms of supporting mods... a bigger turbo will be next, on low boost, then there is hopefully forging + boost up! hehe, think we both are going to head in the same direction oh yeh, got these puppies last night think she needs a lil bit of a lower now hey... -
lol, why 225.00kwS? If this is in relation to the thread you made in vic section, then yes mate, turbo will be the "smartest" interms of cheapest, but its still not that cheap to get it all up and running....

hey man, your plans still sound good. while I could have bought myself a brand new gt3076r that id been saving for, some nice looking meisters came along, and I figured i need to put a bit of cash into cosmetics as well theres nothing wrong with the power u have now... quite a comfortable mix of power and looks for the street. and yeh, the ms-ibc was recommended to me by numerous people. but make sure u get the 2nd series in black... the original ones ( in silver) couldnt hold boost very well or something like that.... basiclly better to spend 50 bucks more and get the series 2. to get 240.4 we added in a litle more timing, hence some slight detonation, and while it probably would have been fine during the colder months, it wouldnt have been as reliable in summer, etc... so for 10kws diff and a little piece of mind it was an easy choice.... -
Flogged Rb Oil Recommendations
WYTSKY replied to Nismo_Boy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
my personal favourite is motul 4100, 10 40. my motor seems to love it. but if ur engine has been fanged it would probably do this: go and buy three 5ltr bottles of your preferred oil, get some oil filters with the magnets in them, or chuck some strong magnets (ie. dead hard drive ones) on the side of a normal filter. do an oil change, do another one in 1,000 kms, do another in 3,000 kms. this would get out exrta crap from ur engine and try to keep it as cleanly lubricated as possible. there are also good oil additives u can use to give ur motor a good clean out, which u can mix in with some oil changes. gl with it, Adam -

yes the turbo im currently using, but look out.. in the future am having SOME sort of plans to look at something along the lines of a 3076r.... but on a lowish boost. ms-ibc - model of gizmo electronic boost controller, the 2nd series ( in black) does a really good job, brought boost reponse up by a couple hundred rpm even more and holds well) its pretty much 15psi from 3,000 up the price I paid for the injectors, basiclly it was cheaper then second hand s15 injectors... u'd be stupid not to buy them for that price and have the car ready for forging in the future.... and N-DAWG - live life on the CrAzY side hey btw, got the kw's up to 240.4 now, but it wasn't going to be as reliable, so happy at 230 for now.... -

everything looks right to me, but I just thought that was funny -
whatever looks better to you, no real advantage of either, as long as u can still park over curbs

and yet im not a massive fan of crown I guess over these past 2 years & 10 months and some days I have owned the car, I have always tried to keep a low profile on the road - regardless of it being an n/a or turbo, and obey all road rules and always give a decent gap infront of me, or maybe it has been luck or a combo of both. Much appreciated advice from the older members, ironic I find this out less then 50-60 days before im off my p's... interesting whether this would have stopped me doing all the engine mods earlier, still can believe that just cars can tell me over the phone yes will all be fine, but they only meant when its in my garage... as for driving- I am taking public transport to uni each day, travel in the missus's car alot, and as if this wasent enough pressure on me when I drive, I was also concerned about police attention, dont want any fines in the last few weeks either with all the cash ive been saving from expenses of not driving as much these past few months, ive gone out and bought a set of meisters for the car Once again, thanks. Adam

damnn.... wot crap... seriously though u ask them everything... will the car be insured in a crash... will the car i hit (hope I dont) be covered... will my mods be covered.... everything comes out yes yes YES! will have to check my policy in a month or so when i renew and im off my P's

WYTSKY replied to dori34's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
well if it was that cheap then why not! but wot about the manifold tho? with manifold, turbo and gate id imagine you could get a internally gated aftermarket turbo for the same price? or was this setup alot cheaper? im only para because of the popo in melb... might not be as bad for u.... and yes.. external gates sound pretty bloody nice. -
affirmative, -1 for fart noise through bov.
-
I didnt mind the slow mo, just because in the first 1 i wanted to watch a few bits and really checkout how close he gets to things, etc... pretty bloody good but the first was jaw dropping...
-
hold up, just before we go BOLDING everything, I checked with my insurance, they were well aware of my age, they said "YES" that will be fine... I put the turbo on, the next day I called to say i've done it, they charged me an extra 50 bucks a year and said no worries... they even send me out my list of mods when I pay each year and it says turbo, injectors, ecu management, fuel pump, anything and everything, so if anything happens it is all noted for... they even have the model of my aftermarket turbo. I'm with just car third party + fire and theft...
