see.... if you got a cop who knew what he was doing and heard the sound of an atmospheric massive thing trumpeting air out and opens the bonnet to find this little stock bov... and you say "no mr officer, I don't have any other bovs"... and he looks a little harder and finds the other one, I reckon you'd get done alot worse. and for what real point to have one to try to get the attention of everyone? Jay_r33, as you said, your a cruiser, the gtr bov will be plenty more then what you need and should serve your purposes just fine. Get one off any rb26 engine, look in the for sale section for wrecking gtrs... 32,33.. it doesnt matter, they are the same... I got mine for 50 bucks.

Joeyjoejoe's E85 Tuning Adventutres
WYTSKY replied to joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
great stuff mate, well done. great results. Im interested on how you go with the fuel economy -
everyone says "apparently" because at the end of the day,its at the cops disgression to issue you with a fine or not, whether or not you have done something wrong is another issue all together. to hopefully answer some of your questions.... GTR bovs were obvously made for much higher powered vehicles then the gtsts, I have one. they are interchangeable with gtst ones, the reason why cops wont defect u is because they look very very similar to facotry gtst ones but can hold alot more pressure.... one thing I have found tho is that I dont get as much noise from the gtr one as the gtst, but it sounds alot tougher.... and it was my impression that to avoid issues with the law, keep things looking as standard/stealthy as possible... some may let you off, some may not, so why risk it when the stock items do exactly what the aftermarket ones do, if not better, just not as show offy... Sqeaky Clutch/clutch Pedal?
WYTSKY replied to WYTSKY's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for the info. Am really disappointed I have to take out my whole gearbox just to fix the clutch sound... as said the clutch pedal isnt as bigger deal, but handy to know... How hard is it to remove the whole gearbox and do the bearing and the price of parts? Thanks heaps. Adam -
Hey people, Has your window switch stopped doing the double clicky thing? one click is meant to be for go down/up until you release your finger and the other you just push and goes all the way down/up? Then this tutorial may be able to help you! and it only costs $2.30 to FIX! Tools: Small flat heads Possibly a pocket knife or small knife Phillips head Beer Others: Tarzan super glue Cost: $2.30 for the glue I take no responsibilty if you glue your hands to your private parts/hair or superglue yourself to the table.... or if you damage your own switch. Righto... 1. Open the car door.... 2. In the handle of the door there is a little plastic cover down the bottem in the middle, remove it with a flat head and the screw underneath it. 3. Your ready to pull off the panel from the door. Try to pull the top end out first, be gentle but firm, then run your finger down the edge of it and pull out the back end.... BUT JUST LIFT IT A LITTLE,DONT PULL IT RIGHT OUT AS THE WIRES ARE STILL CONNECTED! 4. Disconnect the wires from the control switch by pushing really firmly in the middle of the plug (where the arrow is pointing) and then pull. 5. Undo the 4 bolts holding the switch unit to the panel. Now you have your unit. 6. Undo the remaining 3 bolts on the bottom of the window switch unit which hold it together.Simply pull off the button to lock the passenger window, because you have to, to take off the top plastic (note where the button would be in the pic above). Now you will see the circuit board and the top plastic, we are not interested in the circuit board. 7. To get off the driver's window button, use two tiny flatheads and slide them inbetween the button and the main plastic surrounding it(where the arrows indicate) and then slowly pry up. 8. When it pops off, you will first find there is this little springy item which is needed.... so now go find where it sprung off to... Also, I stretched the spring just a little to make the button extra tight... 9. Now checkout the underside of the button, you will have to remove all the grease under there because superglue does not stick to it, I did it by wrapping a tissue around one of the small flat heads. 10. Once all the grease is gone, you may notice a small crack, that is where the problem is being caused... 11. To fix, simply apply superglue to the cracks and wait to dry. I used a mixture of tissue and tarzan superglue because I wanted to glue the plastic back together and then reienforce it, so i tried to make a sort if mini paper-mache, which did work. But just be aware, dont put glue/tissues in the little partition, as that is for the greasy spring. 12. After it is all dry (I left mine for 10 mins) put the spring thing in the little hole with the white plastic facing out of the bottom of the button and then reassemble and put back into the car! I hope this solved your problems as it did for mine, the switch is now much firmer and has two proper clicks. Even though it was a very minor thing, its the little things in life that count! Adam

Hey guys, This is my first time browsing through this part of the forum. (but I did search my problem with not many results) for about 6 months now my clutch pedal has had a slight sqeak, only occasionally and not very loud at all, so I'm not really that worried about that. however, a few months ago my exedy cushion button clutch(or atleast I think it is the clutch) began squeaking whenever I am not in gear or my foot is not pushing/resting on the clutch pedal a little. Its Absolutly fine apart from that. I put my head down there and when I push the pedal in a cm or so, the sqealing stops, but the sound is defintetly coming from outside the cabin and is a fast sqeaky sound. I don't drop the clutch or do silly things and so far the clutch has never slipt. Just one thing to note: the car started out as a non turbo and now has ~230rwkw so perhaps some of the original factory components cant take the extra power? Its really starting to annoy me now so please help! I also can make a recording and post it up if you guys want to hear. Thanks heaps, Adam
-
See... these guys know what they are talking about... you being on your red P's I don't imagine you know a hell of a lot about cars or skylines considering you've only been driving for a few months/years. tyres do make a large difference in performance... things like wheel spin can slow your car a heap.... (you may not notice it yet because your car isn't really modded) so basiclly what they are saying is that these mods help keep your car stuck to the ground and deliver the power from the engine to the road better, not to mention possibly save your life if you put a lot into straight line performance over handling. now as for your question, even though I think it is stupid of you asking consering you are on red p's...(i dont know parts prices really because of the exchange rates these days) > Is your exhaust completly upgraded? turboback - tip? if not, make sure that's done first... things like dump/front pipe, metal cat are good upgrades... you may only have cat back.... so check they are all aftermarket parts... >FMIC is normally next, but instead upgrade the sidemount to a 34gtt stock one as they are alot bigger and are good up to a certain amount of power. >Fuel pump >Upgraded clutch then you can start going into more costly things... >Electronic Boost controller >Engine management (apexi powerfc, wolf 3d, haltech, etc) >bigger flowing injectors >air flow meter >THEN once all this is done, the car will be ready to handle alot larger turbo. Ofcourse you can wack on a bigger turbo before engine management and afm and stuff... but there wont be a great deal of extra power because you can't really go past 200rwkw on stock afm and fuel pump and other bits..... >Finally.. depending on how crazy you go with the setup, you can go into forged internals... Losing Power After A Long Session Of Thrashing
WYTSKY replied to nisskid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hmm.. so you dont have a complete exhaust system? I'll tell you my experience because it seems similar. I have a full exhuast system, went from a gutted cat and a leaky front pipe to nice non leaky system and a metal highflow. we dynoed the car after this and after a few runs she started to loose power..... tuner tried a few things(thought was a leak), couldnt find anything. we let the car cool for a bit, the cat was ticking like crazyy... after it cooled down a little we chucked it back on. all the power was back and everything was fine.... so I knew the cat was going to be a little more restive, but after each run it was loosing ~2-8rwkw. perhaps thats why after a few laps of you thrashing the car it feels a little more slugish...? gl with it. BTW... i dont like your sig! -
check in the tutorials section, I made 2 tuts, one on making a heatsheild, one on making a cai to the heatsheild enclosed area. I did it on my car, which is now turboed, but still has the N/A GTS4 body, which should be basiclly identical to yours. cops think its fine, theres a noticeable difference of power when at speed as the cold air rushes to the pod. I had various ideas/designs but went with the current setup as oppose to something like your suggesting for things like : less cop attention(hopefully)-which seems to have worked no worring about idle actual gains in some power if possible the overall neatness of the system gl with it Adam

Making A Professional Heatsheild/pod Cover/air Box At Cost!
WYTSKY replied to WYTSKY's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
toddlls idea isnt bad, but I found it was much easier seeing where the perspex was that I was melting. BTW, I tried a normal hair drier and it didnt work honestly, at bunnings I bought a cheapy heatgun for $12-15 bucks and it worked a charm. within 30 seconds it was almost like honey. Gl with it. I remember reading about this GTR.... just beautiful and I remember saying to myself how tasteful the mods were. gl with the sale mate!

N/a+t Power Results - N/a +t Turbo Conversions Only
WYTSKY replied to N-DAWG's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hehe, nar different dyno, different formula and measurement of working out torque... he believed it was quite alot for the power the car is making.... I'd love to know the conversion formulas between dynos if they exist or any1 knows.... so I can compare between. -
What Your Girlfriend Hates About Your Skyline Thread
WYTSKY replied to SLEEPR85's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Complaints and bad things How much are u going to spend on it now?-WHY DONT YOU SPEND THAT KIND OF MONEY ON ME?! When will it be fixed? Why isn't it as realiable as my stock as a rock charade- your always doing something to it? Your car is too low, why cant you go over speed bumps at 60 like my car? Stop changing gears so rough, its hurting my neck Drive faster, your driving like a grandmar - (this is my driving most of the time) a few good things- (just so my gf doesnt seem like a complete whiner) beat this guy, hes just said something derogatory to me Jeeze your car is fast - (I love that one ) I wish my car(charade) looked as good as yours (skyline) -
