was that with cams? was that on a rb30/25? dont forget, was on a pretty hot day, im sure the Garrett item would be better, but, i think Tao's R&D is coming along well appart from response, what do you think of max power? little low for a 450hp turbo? or does making more response lower the overall max kw? Thanks for the input. Adam

hey guys, got the car tuned last week, really really happy with the response Sam put into it down low, but I think a little somethings missing uptop... or do you guys think this is about right? just a thought... was a 32 degree day and Sam's weather machine wasent working, so we had to try to manually correct the graph, as well as this, i think the timing was retarted back a little.... the next thing Sam and I were planning on doing was cams, but as I am a student there is a decent amount of time between each mod being put in mods are in the sig, but main things engine wise are: hypergear tr43 a little t piece manual boost controller set at about 15-16psi nismo 740cc injectors bosch pump z32 afm Exhaust cam gear hybrid intercooler turbo back 3 inch zorst and new metal cat powerfc + commander pod + cai + heatsheild it is really responsive IMO and pretty fun to drive... just goes a little flat at the top. max of about 8~15 knock, got a little missfire though

I have a hypergear tr43 on mine, just finally got fully tuned at sams last week. got about 15-16psi, I wasent going for power as much as response and torque. I dont have the graph infront of me, but I will have a topic up later on tonight, to see what people think, but to give you and idea... on my n/a engine with the hypergear bolted on, i have around 12 psi at 2650rpm in 4th gear, by approx 3000rpm I think im already around 150kw... so it made a really good powercurve on my car IMO. GREAT! coffee on the bloody keyboard now and people at work looking at me funny!

LOL, remove from cat from car, bash yourself on the head with it and then spend 200 dollars and get a normal highflow. I gutted my stock cat because I already had an exhaust system and just turboed the car and it gave me an extra 15kw, in a turbo car... in an n/a you would get 0-2kw? if your lucky... it may actually be increasing your back pressure atm so if you took it out you may loose power to! btw... an extra big dont do it (ontop of killing the environment and getting massive fines and black crap building up) you get carbon monoxide coming up the back end of the car.... the stuff that petrol companies say "cleans your engine" crap. it is a horrible yellowy browny colour and the back of your car will be completly covered in it in about 2 weeks. the only way to get it off is about 30 mins of scrubbing with cut and polish and degs each week..... its even worse if you have a white car like mine! and you always watch your back for the cops about that... cuz a cop that is switched on could tell and theres your 10g's gone.... I ended up getting not a highflow cat, but a metal cat... better flow (costs abit more) but it is just about as flowing as a gutted cat, so much so that I did not loose any power putting it on my car. Rb25det Complete Motor $900
WYTSKY replied to SHWU's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
all may not be lost.... it does look like a de engine.... but it looks like an oil line has been drilled? one of your pics shows the side of the block with a piece of rag jammed in a hole... pretty sure that would be oil... if it is, check if there is a return line aswell, ( cant see from the pics unless it is hiding behind some of the loom stuff) if there is a return line, as long as someone gets a turbo that is oil cooled, the engine can still be used with a turbo with higher compression like mine gl with it mate! probably better you got the forged engine then eh? Adam -
Is this the extreme torque controller off ebay? if so, it is a good unit, i have used one for almost 2 years and happy with it.... only thing you might want to add is that the 2/4wd switch will not work with 33's as they dont have a fuse setup for the 4wd system like the 32s, but you can still adjust them with the knob settings. Adam

why not just do it? looks nice on the resume anyway... and u'd be qualified no? I was thinking of doing a Personal training course aswell... I have been body building for about 8 years now and I do agree with you, feels awsome! maybe not getting into a jazz after though P.S my dad has a jazz with the whole factory body kit and wing in black with the license plates HOT.00, when im working on my car and I cant drive mine and he's not using his, I have to take his.... very imbarresing getting in that infront of the good looking girls you just tried to impress lifiting heavy weights

33 Gts4s...whos Got The Fastest/sexiest/best?
WYTSKY replied to WYTSKY's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
UPDATE: got my final tune from Sam a couple of days ago, absolutely wrapped with the response he's added to the car. I gained about 20-40kw over all from 2600-5000 while still keeping the same top end power, im sure i will want more soon , but i am more about response over high kw. What do you guys think of this? -
Non-turbo Supra To 32gts-t
WYTSKY replied to supralicious's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
bah, you know your dream car, its ok to say it...... mine would be a highly modified 33 gtr which funnily enouh isnt that expensive... but by the sounds of it you want some convincing to come to nissan's side? mmmm... maybe have a look on youtube for skylines vs supras or just look up some modified 32 gtsts doing the strip or some drifts... I think that will convince you! Adam -
Non-turbo Supra To 32gts-t
WYTSKY replied to supralicious's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
hey mate, while I dont like hearing people say they dont like the 33's, which surprisingly enough happens quite often (guess they havent seen a really neat GTR version)... but me personally I dont really like the supra's looks to be honest... so to each his own I think that eeiko321 is right. really wait for the car you want. it will make the world of difference when you buy it and will be so much more appreciative of it... you have a functioning car now, that still looks good to you... just not enough balls.... might I add... they dont allow talk of illegal racing on here... so I hope your meaning on a drag strip but imagine how much better you will feel when you beat the rest of the cars in your baby, the one you really wanted. wait wait wait... I waited a year to find the right skyline. gl with it! Adam -

R34/33 Gtt Car Parts For Sale
WYTSKY replied to Rzr_s15's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
would you be able to confirm if the cams will fit a 33? cheers, Adam -
no, no fuse in the 33.... I have to drop the front shaft everytime I get the car to a dyno pain in the arse... and I don't like the draining 4wd reservoir method.... but still begs the question... why do you want it rwd??? your not going to be able to do any better burnouts if thats on your mind... overall, it is a horrible choice because unless you do everything Chris has said, the car is still going to be 50kg heavier then a nornal non turbo and your removing the 4wd .... why??? Adam
-
congrats mate, looks really tidy. power rd is where i bought my car from a few years back... shes been good to me and still going strong how is ol Shane holding up??

probably best to stick with stock for now. but a small breakdown of bovs are: atmospheric- completly illegal, emit the air that is meant to be recercuilated back into the system straight out to the world.... the are the loudest and if your car isnt tuned, can cause issues plumb back - ones like in the pictures above. these are bovs that do send the air back into the system, it is what a stock bov is but you can also get aftermarket plumb back models. you can also get bovs that emit half atmospheric/ half plumb back Honestly, its hard to say what is legal/illegal apart from standard parts, because it depends entirely on the cop who pulls you up if he doesnt like your aftermarket bov, even if it is plumb back...epecially considering they are cracking down on "hoons" these days... so the only thing you can be sure of is that your standard bov will be fine. Hope this helps, Adam

Problems With Exhaust Sound R33 Gts4
WYTSKY replied to Mr.Massive's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
my car started out as a non turbo, but already came with a cat back momo course system... the rest was standard and it was fantastic, not drowny and absolutely barked when I put my foot down... but its a 3 and 1/2inch system, which is too big for an n/a.. so I dont know why it came on there, but now I miss that growl, turbos make it really quiet unless boosting hard.. so have a look around, if you want something that you can control volume with, xforce make a muffler that can be controlled by remote to open and close a valve in the system to divert air around baffles or what ever you call them and makes the exhaust sound that quiet that it is legal... open up the valve and it is straight through and loud as buggery... Adam -
the driver was an 88 year old granny? this statement though.... "A VE HSV Maloo R8 Ute (317kw) has around 220kw at the wheels and weighs 1700kg" Really??? they loose that much through the gearbox/drivetrain/etc? I thought they were meant to be like the super ute....

he called a vic club executive a "f*kin smartass and a clown", for an extremly minor joke..... this site has been a wealth of knowledge and support for my car modifications. Occasionally you get a joke directed at you, but I know I wouldnt go walking into work, get a joke from the manager saying nice tie and call him a f*kin smartass... perhaps instead of having a long shot of finding a member, you could get the papers when it was bought, see if they have the name of the previous owner... look it up on white pages.... or as other people have said, get some pictures of the engine bay... the final thing is though, how can you make a large purchase such as buying a car without knowing the modifications done to it? fine if jap importers cut and paste bits of stock panels and paint over the car will go back to stock, but this guy is saying there was a previous owner, not a workshop. maybe we arent the only clowns.....
-
your calling paying vic members and vic club executives clowns... when you have contributed nothing to the site... hope you wernt planning on actually getting your question answered after that little tantrum... let alone getting a warning or a killed account....
