lol... really??? you thought fog lights that should be turned on when foggy/rainy were meant to come on with your high beams? Look on your right indicator stalk... the one for your headlights.... the switch in the middle of it.... that is your fog lights.. you may have gotten your car the same way I did... without any globes in them and the fuse removed... check the fuse box near the drivers door if you have the fuse and for globes and the general wiring to the lights... they arent even that bright... dont make that greater difference... honestly... not much to whinge about mate, very easy fix and a small price to pay, I know it may not seem fair but as cheez said it is the law. the price that some of us have to pay to get are skylines back to what they believe to be acceptable and remove performance parts can be enormous! one thing to note though, I have a blue led strip lighting up the rear garnish of my car to show the word skyline ( check my avatar) I have never had a problem. one cop once told me its ok because it doesnt flash or "dazzle" as the cop told you...eg flashing or pulsing. does yours pulse? because that could have been the main reason why. If your not planning to have it that long then I wouldnt even recommend doing too much to it. instead of spending bout $1000-$1300 on cams and gears, use that on your next turbo car..(I picked these mods because u already have a full exhaust they are the next best thing to do for power) also... people are probably going to have mixed opinions about what I say next, but I have read this in a few magazines about skylines.... went something along the lines of: "Skylines are a supurb car to drive for performance and handling, however there are quicker cars that go in a straight line, but they are one of the toughest competitors around a track." Not saying obveously you can make them go faster in a straight line, but it takes mods and money to do so... stuff that at the moment I imagine arent flying at you(im a p plater too)... so definetly do try a cold air intake and a heatsheild, but you'll be spending a decent amount of money to notice any type of gains from an n/a... one final thing... personally, I would recommend doing cam gears for now, I did it to my car last week and noticed a heap of difference in response and torque, which from the sounds of it, you are after aswell. Its a nice thought, however, as alot of people will say, and as I have learnt(I have since changed my pod a long time ago from the pics), oil based air filters can cause issues with the afm and most generally recommend to stay away from it, thats why if you use a non oil one, cleaning it will be a weekly or atleast monthly chore. BTW evil_weevil looks very shmick, definetly the way I would have gone if I didnt go perspex. I didnt know if the funnel would make a difference either but it is there just for good measure. Adam

Thanks for sticking up for me Andrew, this is why I just want to get this thread closed.. people just flame and flame.. never do it themselves and give me crap for what I do and try to share with others... and satanic.... the prices were also high because each part was going to be measured and fit to suit the car.. ie.. what we did with mine, cardboard cutout for measurement for each part so that it would fit togther and be as strong as mine. crap like your saying get some piece of sh*ty aluminium to hold the pod in place or not have it at all... these are skylines, not bloody excels... this is the reason why cops like my setup... it is sturdy... non of this tinsnip crap and aluminum sheet... Im really sick of the smart asses on here who think they are know it alls, therefore I request that: ADMINS PLEASE REMOVE/CLOSE THIS THREAD, I HAVE HAD ENOUGH. I have had enough stupid comments come into my inbox about this thread and people replying in it.. I only put this up to help others, charged a slightly higher price then what was expected because each part would be customised for each car. Thanks guys, really makes me feel better. I was upset that people were laughing at what I had done. My car has been around to quite a few workshops and they all thought it was top work, one even asked me to make one up for their drifter car, so I didnt understand why people were bagging me on here. I can understand that the prices are high, but I sort of did that for a few reasons. -being a student and a network admin and running my own comp business is pretty full on, so its hard to find time to build things -I didnt really want people to buy a whole setup, thats why it is a little pricey, but for example, if you can do the cai and everything else, but needed someone to just make the heatsheild, thats what I wanted to help for. I wanted people to try for themselves, if they get stuck, im always here. I was trying to get this thread removed because of comments made like bn_sil80, but now i'll keep it up Thanks again for the kind words, they can make a massive difference. Please pm me if you guys need any advice/ideas for your setups Adam P.s one final thing to note, I am not saying my setup is legal, however, since posting this thread up I have been picked up more times then I can count, not a single cop has defected my air intake setup or any other part of the car for that matter. One guy said to me it was really sterdy and thought it was a better setup then standard.

alright matt, understand all your 1-9s... which is fine, except for 2 and 5. 2... its cool, the people you see say you dont have to have a bov, mine do... no biggy, but I think thats why we have strong opinions about what can be run comfortably... 5.. I never said everyone... just from being on these forums now for close to two years I have seen predominatly more threads about keeping factory bovs or upgrading to gtr ones.. then blocking off... Finally.. I completly agree with everythign you said about insurance and the popo. I have already talked to him about being cop bait. But... I dont know if this will work for you hannibal... but it did for me and we have the same car... once I turboed it, I called up justcar, talked to a nice girl, told her I turboed my car and want to cover it, she said fine, extra $50 bucks a year ontop of your third party fire+theft... I honestly could not give a toss what you run... I simply am trying to advise hannibal to steer away from this setup... especially considering it is a non turbo engine... it might be somewhat sensitive to things like running it with no bov... and cause to have issues further down the track. By all means you can say what you want... but from every single ligimate tuner I have been to, they DO NOT RECOMMEND running it without a bov... as well as hundreds of people on here... plus a CA18DET is not a skyline engine now is it? so it was there from factory for a reason. so one person having an alternate opinion to what most other have is not going to convince me. I am not going to continue arguing about this on here considering hannibal is still trying to work out what to do... good luck with your monster setup, now give hannibal some advice if your replying in his thread. no prob mate, I know how daunting this can feel and there are so many options, so I want to atleast try to steer you in the right direction, cuz no one helped me the first time round get everything standard except for the fmic, easier for installing and getting an idea how your engine handles it and less attention from the popo if worse comes to worse. if your engine can take it without blowing, slowly add the next mods. Get this douchebag rock up next to us in this sh*t box integra and stops so fast that his and his ratty thing he called a female head's fly forward with his awsome $80 sony explode sub going nuts.... lights go green, we drive off normally, he didnt see they went green... absolutely tried fanging to catchup to us...redlining... just narrowlly cut us off as his lane was ending and slowly speeds off... guess he feels like a big man infront of his whor, beeting a lady driving, doing the speed limit.
