Tuned..... 1002hp R34 T88gk 18cm Monster!
WYTSKY replied to STATUS's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
so rwd... at 5,000rpm at a meak 250ish hp...by 6,200rpm its at a monsterours 920is hp and +.... in the wet.... not that you want want to go a smidge over 5g's...but what... like straight into a tree... spin out completly... or into the 4th dimension? still trying to work that out... just a serious question though.... the torque difference from 350s to 1030s.... in a second... the impact of that on a body? like a space shuttle launch? trying to imagine it cuz I would have never felt that form of acceleration before... also.. with the torque... couldnt it twist the body a little? -
Hey guys, just thought I'd give a heads up... last weekend I was cruising around the Hawthorn rd, North rd, Neapen hwy area... sorta beach drive... anyway at about 10-11 at night I saw some cop lights in the distance.. as I came up they were not from an undercover ss or standard Police car.. They were coming from a new dark blue Mitsubish 380! he had someone pulled over... I had a second and third look to make sure I wasent tired, but my gf was just as confused...went to a pizza shop, ate, headed back the same way... see him on the other side of the road picking up someone else! any way more crusing... come back around the area and sure enough find him writing a ticket for a parked car at like 12 am... (i know because there was no one else around and no one in the other car) so I thought crap.. this guy must want to be super cop or wants to make lots of people really unhappy.... I took a pic... but the bloody nightmode and slow capture time on my fone left nothing there... just a blur of his reflecting uniform ... The car specs from what I could see: 07/08 model Mitsubishi 380. Ultra dark tint. factory alloys? Regards, Adam

I have the complete set of ( from the top of my head- this is all non turbo stuff) : rear calipers, front calipers, 4 stud hubs, brake lines, and looots of little bits and pieces... i.e front arms, pretty much everything you would need for a brake upgrade except for the rotors, because at the moment I have interest from a party, but could always try to work something out. and interms of doing a 5 stud conversion, this was left over stuff I got back from the mechanics... I would not risk stuffing anything regarding brakes and steering myself, thats why I wanted profesionals to do it! from what I have heard, its not too difficult, I was looking at doing it myself until I thought about safety... the biggest concern was the back, something to do with the hicas playing up, but I dont think 180s have hicas do they? so shouldn't be as bad? Happy to answer any more questions to the best of my knowledge Adam

Thanks mate, the results have been rewarding not just by their looks, but also by their functionality, although I dont have a temperature reading of the pod, I have on a number of occasions gone for a drive, quickly taken off the sheild and felt around and the actual pod and metal.... they were COLD-outside temperature while the rest of the car is hot as. IMO i have ganed a small amount of power at high speeds aswell... ie the freeways because theres no restrictions of pure fresh air going straight into the system at 100km/h. Adam

If your concerned about your pod, read these tutorials particularly the heatsheild one(Lots of pics)... I had been defected for the pod before, done this and the cops have picked me up 4 times since without an issue.... Heatsheild CAI that should keep them away from your induction area (apart from if you have a bigger turbo) Adam

sorry to hear mate, I hope one day you find those bastards...

hehe, glad someone else has a sense of humour but also guys, stealth is the way to go... I have an aftermarket turbo, but I made a turbo heatsheild/cop sheild out of my old non turbo manifold sheild. A cop picked me up, tried to stick his torch around my engine bay and get a look at the turbo, he couldnt, he said the sheild doesn't look like it came out like that from factory ( but he couldn't be sure - i must have done an alright job) I said its just so I dont burn myself when changing the sparks... and it does its job well... *cough* deflecting cops .... and another set of issues avoided I have pics of it if you want to get some ideas Adam

A place thats not bad... is brakes plus is Moorabin.. they stopped my squeaking... but if you need to get rotors.. id advise buying them off a group buy on here and then bringing it to them... they charge body parts for that stuff! but they use pads called qfms... no brake dust- very very minimal! really good Cheers, Adam

lol... yeh mate I saw a fair few as well... also on warrigal..... ahh well.. bad luck buddy... btw... this bloke... likes picking up people for the same crap... so theres not much you can do you know... one thing that went through my mind when he picked me up is that why didn't he go after you? cuz he knows my car and he knows he can't get me due to lack of specs etc... but as it turns out he already had you... poor timing.

That would be me mate!! hahaha having a little squiz at your ride before he got me! he is the same knob who tried to get me about a month ago while I was filling up petrol at the nuna shell. standing there minding my own business when he rocks up, goes "Turbo?" i said yeh, he goes "too powerful" and then i beat him with rubbish statistics because mine is a GTS4 and is heavier then a standard GTST! so he went on his merry way! he picked me up tonight for a chat..... remembered who I was.. didn't even need to see my license and gave me an update from when he tried to pick me up at shell.... he apparently looked that night for over 3 hours for power and weight info about my car... couldnt find anything, which I told him so, he said he still rekens mines over but just cant prove it cuz its that rare... I laughed at him and then he put his face into my HIDs... said theyre bright... I said yeh... he also commented on my back blue skyline light saying (in quote) : "That blue light at the back dude, its a bit gay" I told him most people like it.. we said our goodbyes and he was off to have a w@nk at the next skyline. I loled all the way home.
