  1. if you have the power fc commander you can change the rev limit as simple as going to settings and changing the value... by the looks of it, lTrent changed it for the dyno as it goes to 7200. Someone else will be more experienced in answering on more wear and tear with higher rpms but yes it can cause big issues, factory items were not designed to spin that fast etc, but if you rarely are on limiter things should be ok, atleast for a while.
  2. NISSAN SKYLINE R33 GTS4+T
  3. yes exactly - not like it would happen often, but when it did it was scary, the entire time (6 months) I had it like that (180rwkw and 4 stud) there was only twice.... just for instance on freeway, busy traffic, ass wipes keep trying to get in front of me, slow down, speed up, (couple of times) slow down, speed up (and give it a bit so people dont keep getting infront), brakeeee and i still pulled up but no where near as well....
  4. ^^^ been there done that, n/a brakes are useless pulling up anything over 180rwkw... they just cant cope and get way too hot too easy... 5 stud + turbo brakes is definitely worth it .
  5. Unfortunately not, as I am still using it. as long as you have an aftermarket dump/front pipe (you need one to get the most of larger then factory turbos) it can easily be made to suit v-band style exhaust by an exhaust shop.
  6. you know, a single picture of the engine bay particularly passenger side, will give us a good idea and we can tell you...
  7. absolutely normal. airbox is doing it correctly and quietening down bov noises. most people do this to avoid unwanted attention. suggest getting a good panel filter to keep same or better flow (then pod) of air to turbo... stock panel filters are a little restrictive.
  8. Sorry to hear mate, but you do have to pack up your gear properly or someone has to stay at the site if you are staying in the forest and going riding/4wding the next day. Its sad but its the truth, best thing to do it get swags which are like hardcore sleeping bags - you can put a little mattress in them and your own dona and they close up to a cocoon if it gets wet, then in the morn just roll it up and chuck in the back of the car and off you go. Otherwise a quick pop up tent (good ones are expensive) and a few pegs to make packing up easier....
  9. ^^^ thats a front facing plenum like a factory GTR one, rb25's have side facing plenum - disadvantages are intake pipe has to cross over hot motor, makes everything tighter and have to take it off every time for spark plugs...and more intake piping apparently makes car a touch laggier (for turbos). Lots of problems fitting one of those unless its an expensive one that is known to fit well. factory plenum does not need to be changed unless going for over 300kw+...seeing as this is the N/A forum going to bet not.
  10. What tyres do you have? not cheapies I hope... also do you have factory wheels?
  11. Sorry to the others that have been asking, Apexi Super Suction Pipe SOLD and picked up, thanks Jamie - enjoy
  12. Hey guys, Had this gear for a while from my old setup and completely forgot about it until I was cleaning up my garage. Item: Hypergear TR43 internal gate (roughly .64 or .68 rear housing, will check) Condition: Excellent Price: $350 Details: Bought it brand new a few years ago because my factory turbo died, worked absolutely fine on my car, only reason I took it off was to go for more power. Had it rebuilt about 9 months to a year before it was removed. Its a bush bearing with a 360 degree thrust bearing in it and from memory a hard 14psi actuator. Water and oil cooled, uses factory lines and I still have the larger flowing oil feed bolt to go with it. Is a good step up from factory, had a really good pull, this accompanied with some support mods will do 230kw+ easy with good response, see my dyno attached. For an extra buyer's cost I can get it checked and put on a simulator for them if they want at eastern turbochargers in Bayswater for $100-200 from memory Item: Apexi Super Suction Pipe Condition: Good Price: $200 Details: These with a pod and some silicon joiners are over $400 new on Nengun:http://www.nengun.co...it-standard-afm This suits factory position mounted turbos, stops all those suction issues and you can still use the factory afm and plumb the factory bov into it, looks good in the engine bay. Item: Boss kit for 33 GTST Condition: Brand new Price: $80 Details: Never got a steering wheel, so just opened it for photos, apparently its for a 33, don't know much else about it. My number is 0419110110. Cheers, Adam
  13. ^^ its a non turbo mate
  14. I took my soon to be brother in law for a spin in the 33, he's 6'7, im 5'4... and I have factory seats, I had to have the sunroof open for his head.... hit boost and the back of his head hit the sunroof
  15. I'd say the tuner would be risking it... might be good for the street but what if something happens on the dyno for it to reset/ reengage or anything like that... As on the dyno it will want to put torque to the front wheels as it thinks the back end is completely "slipping" out at over 150km/h, thats why my tuner will only put my car on without the front shaft to be sure.
  16. How good is it though when you find it - that sense of relief that it was nothing serious Although the bogans in falcons/commodores flying past while your bonnets open and they scream out piece of shit skyline is annoying
  17. Lol would be crazy hope you get there mate.
  18. oh i have a boost gauge and rpms on my pillar 1 above the other plus my ebc also says current boost psi, and I also know the difference in sound from when the diaphragm is just opening to full boost. I am happy to prove it and take someone for a spin if they dont believe me
  19. Unfortunately I don't have any answers to what you guys are saying. I know my tuner does not fudge figures and change ramp rates to make the dyno look more powerful to me happy. What I can say is that I know it hits full boost and 3k on the road as I can hear the external gate open up and watch the rpms. This was mearly to show that I believe it is possible and I hope Stao does it achieve it - heck if he gets the same response as I am getting now but with extra top end i'd consider it. George, the only thing I will say in regards to Stao's dyno compared to mine is that he is running abit more boost... my tuner believes mine with an extra 2psi (currently at 18.x psi) should hit 300 Adam
  20. lol... none of that either.. just good power... I achieve it with a .63 rear housing... goes good
  21. Nope - nothing special, no E85. tuner said not much difference between what he has seen with normal turbo motor and the slightly higher compression NA with my turbo. this was with an electronic boost controller this was with a bleed valve Decent power for the street, very useable... as soon as I touch the accelerator I get boost..
  22. Always watching Stao's progress, keep up the good work mate. full boost at 3k and 280rwkw+ may be possible as thats exactly what I have now... just with a Garrett stamp and a slightly higher price tag.
  23. Generally not air filter... but oil, filter, plugs every 3000 on the tick. and the oil isn't cheap... $75, about $15 for filter and $25ish for plugs but I am much happier to be paying that then fixing crap because I didn't service it regularly
