  1. Hey thanks for the replies guys. its the hole near the fuse box that allows the piping to run down to the cooler 53XYN - Did they actually do anything to the hole to clear your defect? e.g strengthen it. Or did they just write you a letter saying that the hole is ok? and if they said it was ok, does that not clear you of the defect and therefore you dont to pay the fine and lose the point ? Thanks
  2. Hey guys Just finished getting my new spark plugs around 8pm tonight and took the car out for a drive for all of about 5 minutes. Pulled up at the lights and the car (unmarked commodore) next to me didnt pull right up to the line so immediately i was suss on him, then the fact that straight away he pulled into the lane behind me at first chance confirmed he was a cop for me. Anyways so after he follows me for a good five minutes on come the lights etc. Asks me to pop my hood and says "oh yeah nothing really under here ay, oh wait see that hole down there thats a defect" so in short i got defected for having a hole in a panel for my intercooler piping and i have to somehow get it fixed and then show queensland transport, which is going to be kind of hard. He also defected me for my number plate placing but forgot to write than one up so haha to him. Has anyone else had this problem or knows how to go about this? Thanks in advance
  3. Yeah it sucked too cause i live in a townhouse complex and the holesaw is well... bloody loud, so i made all that noise for no hole ahah
  4. Just did one of these for my car this weekend, if you don't have the tools, pay someone to do it. The hole saw i had wouldn't cut the damn hole in the engine bay and i ended up gettin a drill a hacksaw and hammer and i finally ended up with a hole, although you do get the satisfaction out of it at the end
  5. thanks for the quick reply, and thanks for the info in regards to the search, i tried a million different variations of "removing your stock bov" but the only bit it seems to search is "removing your", and it comes up with everything from removing your front mount to stereo removal, I even tried "removing your stock "bov"" and using the plus signs for exact matches and only searchin titles but it literally made no difference. I honestly tried my hardest lol!
  6. Hey guys i just received my Greddy RS STYLE bov and having never removed the stock bov from my car before im unsure what to do, the main bit i dont understand is my new bov is an atmospheric bov what do i do with the plumb back hose on the original bov. 13. Thanks for the replies guys! Pauly - i have disconnected the stock boost solinoid so i was under the impression that by d/cing that it will run a constant boost level? Benisdamenice - yeah i have a turbo timer to allow the engine to cool down I've been told that the ticking is just the manifold cooling down so no dramas there so im under the impression that i need to wind the boost back down until i get some new spark plugs and/or supporting mods. Is the fact that its running R&R dangerous toward the engine? thanks for all the input
  14. Hi guys i saw the introduction thread up the top but since i have a few questions to ask i thought i might make a new thread Hi guys my names Chris and i bought an R33GTST a couple of months ago Heres a pic of my car I bought it fairly stock it just had a catback exhaust and the exterior mods and have since added a apexi pod and a boost controller (pnuematic type) which brings me to my first question I have set the boost to run 10psi and since boosting particularly in 2nd gear when i hit about 4,500 rpm the car seems as if it looses a bit of power for a sec, and then goes ok until about 6,000 rpm and which point it does it again, i am fairly new to turbo'd cars but it doesn't seem like a fuel cut because it doesn't seem that severe but is there different severities of fuel cuts or has anyone had a similar problem? and my second question is when i turn my car off my motor makes a ticking sound and it seems to be coming from the turbo, does this mean its on the way out? i wasn't sure whether to put these questions in a new thread or not so please advise me for next time look forward to meeting you all and thanks for any help on the above questions Chris
