Make: Nissan Model: 1996 Skyline GTS25 Series 2 Milage: 96xxx Transmission: manual Colour: silver Location: box hill Complied? yes RWC supplied? on request Currently registered? til july 08 Price: $15,000 ono Contact: drop me a PM or call 0433 654 731 if i don't answer, send an sms, i don't check my voicemail very often Comments / Modifications: bought the car stock as a rock fresh off the boat from japan. hasn't even seen it's first full year in aus yet and has been serviced every 5-7000km with receipts and whatnot. this car is absolutely immaculate inside and out except for a small ding in the rear passenger side quarter panel, and a couple of scrapes and stone chips on the front bar have since spent around $3500 adding the following: 17x7 mags - brand new tyres on front, second hand 70-80% on rear - rims are immaculate and have been on for less than a month kenwood mp3/usb head unit clarion 3way 6x9 rear speakers short shifter 3" mild steel catback with bolt on x-force cannon and silencer darkest legal window tint (lifetime warranty against bubbles/fading/fogging) about 1000km ago oil, fuel and air filters were replaced, and standard spark plugs were replaced with NGK iridium plugs put a couple of stupid stickers on it, but they'll come off without a hassle if you don't want them also i have some absolutely kick ass batman seat covers on the front seats... HELL YEAH!! i can return the exhaust, wheels, and shifter to stock and try to sell them separately for anyone who's looking to really keep costs down just for those who didn't catch it, this car is NON TURBO so can be driven legally on P-plates. has plenty of power and will get around 400-450km to a tank of petrol. has been run on 98 octane fuel when i'm feeling cheap, but usually run on shell v-power Images: drop me a line if you want to take a test drive. i live in box hill, work in preston/coburg and spend a fair bit of time around croydon/lilydale/monbulk so i'm more than happy to come to you when i'm in the area

only chucking my 2c in here, but the fuel economy in a stagea is far better than that of a legnum. stagea will get slightly less than an r34 gtt, legnums get 50-100km less for the same amount of fuel... and they look/drive/sound/feel better. a bit of a no brainer if you ask me lol

now i'm not sure whether i'm looking for advice on a "how to" basis, or just someone to tell me that this is a dumb idea and to walk away, but here's the thing i own ONE car. 1996 r33 gts. rb25de etc. you all know the drill when i first bought it i had a bit of extra cash lying around and managed to score a big ass intercooler and 2 garrett turbos for a matter of a couple hundred bucks. basically, all this is leading to one question what kind of work/how much money will it take to make a functional and RELIABLE rb25dett?? i've been told everything from "bolt it all on and away you go" to "you're going to have to replace every mechanical part of your car" is there a simple way of doing this or have i dug myself a hole that i should just fill in and enjoy my naturally aspirated goodness? if anybody could shed some light on this for me i'd greatly appreciate it because i have this horrible feeling that i'm in waaaaay too deep it's not just a matter of going out and buying a gtr or gts-t any more. it's come down to wondering if it can be done without spending more money than just buying a new car. don't get me wrong, i'm not just trying for the ebay special, if something needs genuine good quality parts or professional work done i'll go there, but it's also my daily driver. i don't want it to be off the road for more than a weekend at a time. the things i figure i'll need to do so far are as follows: aquire remaining parts required ie. intake/exhaust manifolds, dump pipes, cooler piping, oil lines, etc. upgrade fuel pump upgrade injectors possibly upgrade diff, gearbox, clutch possible engine rebuild and have head worked/decompressed/whatever have i missed anyhing? anything there not required? can somebody giz a hand here?

lol yeah the fuel filter and the air filter are fitted properly, they have this lovely little stamp on them that says "in" and "out". i'm thinking it would be pretty hard to f**k that up. i got the car serviced over the weekend at sumo performance and they replaced my $130 iridium plugs with a set of basic NGK plugs worth about $50 stating "oh we've found that the shit plugs are better than the good ones". they were nice enough not to charge me for them because, surprise surprise, they didn't fix the problem AND THEY COULDN'T BE ARSED TAKING THEM OUT AGAIN, but still. anyway, the misfire is gone after a big ass service, but it still idles badly from starting up until i've driven for 5-10 mins. this doesn't really phase me as much but it's still a bit irritating. also, i have less power now. it's equal through the whole rev range (about 2k all the way to 8) could this be because of the shit plugs?

any recommendations on decent mechanics in eastern melb? i bought the car at kamikaze motors, and have been getting it serviced at their affiliate workshop down the road, sumo performance or something like that, but they seem a little cheap, and i've never noticed much of a difference between taking the car in and getting it back. beyond that, i'm beginning to think the problem is a little more serious. today, while sitting in traffic, it stalled for no reason. not in gear, not moving, just dropped revs a little when the climate control kicked in, then choked and died. it took a couple of tries to get it to start again, and now i have less power than before i replaced the plugs and fuel filter, it chokes unless i'm flooring it, and it's louder. i have this horrible feeling something has gone pop. please dear god tell me i haven't blown the head

the timing was the only other thing i could think of, but why would it suddenly start up on a car that has been properly maintained and serviced? beyond that, i run it on 98 octane fuel every time i fill up, 95 if i'm really in a pinch, but that should be easily enough to not be the cause of my problem it's due for a service in the next week or two anyway so it's getting one whether i like it or not and if it doesn't clear itself up within the next few days (new fuel filter and all) hopefully the guys at the shop will be able to fix her up for me. i hate to hear an RB sounding like that, especially my own
