  1. Is there nothing else that you may have tried that you would like to post
  2. hey he knew that Andy
  3. what error code comes up and how do you get it with your SR20! here's one for you.....the C34 has a shit load more in common with a R33, R34 yes?....or would you say the C34 has a lot more in common with a 350Z! and congrats on the diagnosis........your a rocket scientist aye!
  4. ahhhh correction....no R31!....lol could have said something about the DR30
  5. that was m.......nup.....forgot mines still a Hover Stag!!!
  6. yup......was about on par with the Haltech which was about 10-15% better than the standard ECU.......never got to do a tank on ECO before I took it off the road.
  7. depends what ECU you have
  8. lol.....I did write a couple of responses.....but there is no real come back. Your right....heaps of parts straight off the shelf to build a decent tractor motor....sorry RB.....hey after 20-30 years of the motor being on the market getting 270 AWKW's reliably out of one of them without cracking the motor open and with the same turbo housings should be easy aye! lol.....how did we get here from AFM
  9. really!....thanks for that!
  10. running a V35 manual radiator....bit wider and no tran's cooler tank.....I run an additional 2 transcoolers though.
  11. some of the C34 guys get a little confused.....I give you a heads up as they don't quite get it ......our car is 98% different to the C34! So when you hear the line "Well on my C34......" more than likely they are completely wrong with the assessment! Sorry in advance if I have offended any C34 owners
  12. Hi Matt, Only talking engine performance.....and a couple of points will probably give you a bit more longevity with your standard turbo as well. As mentioned above and I will take it to the grave the single best improvement I have done on mine and completely noticable straight away was a decent dump pipe with a good high flow cat(not that I have one....at all ) The next thing you should look at especially with the coming summer months is a decent FMIC. There are two out there...Blitz from Just jap and the HDI. Also look at putting a Nismo thermostat in....will save the top tank on your radiator. From what I have heard the suction pipe is also a very good upgrade (fitting on to my car atm while it's off the road) As far as ECU's go the best piggyback for our car's is probably the Greddy but you will need to find a good tuner. You will more than likely find that you standard ECU will still fight with it though. There is the F-con but finding a tuner to do it is a problem...BD4's don't do it anymore...spoke to the guy yesterday. As for a replacement ECU, the Mines ECU....if you can source it go for it.....I've tried but to no avail....even if you get it how do you tune it? If you can get a Nismo or Impul it is probably the best bolt on upgrade and again you notice the difference straight away. Oh and if SAS ever get the reader unit back that would without a doubt be the best option as you will be able to tune the standard ECU. As far as turbo's go Scott's is probably one of the best working upgrades. Not saying that I have given up on my turbo setup either....I just have a few more hoops to just through yet. Both of us have had our own headache's with our setups but I can tell you first hand Scott's goes like shit off a stick straight out of the whole basically no lag....oh and not saying mine doesn't go hard either......the Mexicans are just a bit ahead of us with development ATM BTW the standard turbo will probably only ever get you about 180KW's ATW's....tops.
  13. No Nismo for U!!!!
  14. more than likely it's the AFM....mine died two weeks ago for no reason as well. Get the codes.....pretty sure you can get an second hand x-trail one.....or you can go for the 1 year warranty approach and buy a new one....Hornsby Nissan had em in stock....get a price from them I'll see if I can beat it.
  15. thanks for the offer mate....we bring one race mechanic per car but if we get stuck I might be hunting you down for some local knowledge. cheers Craig
  16. let me get back from Lakeside and I will confirm a date. P.S. atm my cars off the road....I would really like to have it back on the road for the meet!
  17. sure have....I've actually heard about two N..........new cars and drivers......but it's all hearsay.....will see next year at PI aye! P.S. I sometimes wonder who you know Roy and were you get your info!
  18. Sorry wont be there at all unless his changed his mind from when I spoke to him on Sunday....the head Gasket was only the start of the damage....also detonation in 5 and 6.......the new owner does have a spare motor but his had a fair bit on his plate in the last month or so so I am pretty sure he wont make it back to Sydney - Motor out - Motor in - Dyno - and back to Brisbane by next weekend to race it....logistic's alone would have him pretty buggered.....I have offered to help him even though I am still working on the DR30's prep but I am pretty sure he wants a break before Muscle Car.
  19. Nismo ECU if you can find one....you will be happy you could also try going here http://www.upgarage.com/shop/upgarage.html
  20. heard about that effort.....was awesome to hear about that sort of backing from friends and other parties! LOL.....Bowe sure does.....I remember him coming up to Terry and me at Oran Park when I was in the Winfield car and saying I hated this car when I was racing racing against it....all in jest.....sort of....lol! P.S. I did mention that the R31 in more than likely not going to be at Lakeside now......got motor damage at Morgan Park.
  21. Pretty sure Terry would have been pretty appreciative of your effort's....I know he had mentioned how much help he was getting from people. I also know how pissed off he was with himself that evening at the error. It's easy to say we'll just bolt on some panels and keep racing and in most categories I totally agree with you.....hell I've even done it myself....but when your punting around motorsport history, $$$$$$$ worth of car, hoping the damage is only superficial and on a track you don't really know you need to way up the decision on wether it's worth it. Just remember we are like most of the rest of the Australian Historic Motorsport.....we don't get paid! As for keeping some time up our sleeve....shit yeh....I know I do......but I can also hold the times I am doing till the tyres go off(traffic depending).
  22. Yeh sorry about last year.....don't think Terry was planning on doing an exit into the walls. Was my fault on the R31......the cam cracked on a cool down lap which as you can expect pretty much stuffed the top part of the engine. What I can confirm at the moment is that there is definitely 2 R32's running, The R31 blew a head gasket at Morgan Park and more than likely wont be running and the DR30 is definitely running(might even have some HP for this event....going on the Dyno today). The rest of the Group A/C field looks pretty good as well.
  23. +1 on that. Oh and DR30's are just FAT!!!
  24. how about these? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Fuel-Rail-Delivery-...#ht_3136wt_1137
