  4. this is a hard one....at this point in my life In fantasy world R35 GTR Wagon If money was no object the Volvo XC70 AT Nissan Pathfinder(apparently the wife needs a 7 seater even though we only have three kids).....would try not to tinker but guarantee it would end up with at least a supercharger
  5. I'll give you a hand.......bit rusty as I did mine 2 years ago but I am sure between the both of us we can work it out. If you interested PM me. cheers Craig
  6. Ash you missed a couple of my questions....feel free to answer with your infinite knowledge......I am sure myself and the rest of the forum would kill for this knowledge. I am sure I can get the exhaust manifolds made easier now but not necessarily alot cheaper.....I know for a fact that both the exhaust places that I use for other race cars would not go anywhere near them for under 6G and they have been in the game for a long time.......and this is with me suppling a set to copy from too. You missed a couple of my questions. 1. Or is one of your workshops willing to keep remaking them for me until they are right? For $3.5K? - Please name em. 2. If I was to build a car to try to win a Championship I might well spend the money for the best equipment I can get. Would you not? 3. If you were to make an exact replica what would your process be? metal's, bends ect? 4. Was from a ex-gibson dev/demo car. HR31, N/A build plated shell just like all the others. The car/shell you are taking about is in QLD is it not? and a couple more. 5. GMS probably had some of the best engineers....why would they have spent $9,000 if they really didn't need to.....do you think they had not tried other paths? 6. I have personally spoken to the guy who made them....as has Terry Ashwood, Rod Markland, Mark Hooker and others in NHM. Once you hear the process you might well change you mind on what we have been saying. Or have you already spoken to him? Ash I have re-read all of you answers and responses and if you are prepared to be such an arse on how you answer people maybe it would be a good idea for you to take a chill pill. Sure my first comment may have come across a bit harsh " $2,500? your shitting me are you not.....it was in jest and shock not calling you an idiot! I don't claim to know everything and am quite willing to learn from others but I am not about to sit down and be spoken to like a simpleton on subjects that I have quite a bit of knowledge with....especially when people are shooting from the hip with no substantiated facts(not talking specifically about you either). Anyway feel free to flame me mate....
  7. FYI.....exhaust manifolds.....photo's
  8. how long did it take?.....from ordering the pipe onwards? Taking it to get coated ect.....so all cost's added.....just trying to get a rough idea(I know it'[s V8 ect).....I am gathering the tubes are one piece with no welding other than on the flange and collector? That type of collector setup will not work for our R20 either. P.S. When you get to do the RB20 let me know....I'll try to get as many photo's as you need if you need.....pretty sure we have a set off the car ATM.
  9. Sorry I made a mistake $2,500....and I had the number 2 in my head as well....doh!. So who sold em again for $1,500 anyway? Also in the interest of my own further knowledge can you maybe explain to me how you would get them made to exactly the same specification.....I mean in the day GMS had quite a few problems with the exhaust manifolds cracking, sagging, welding falling apart ect......and I wouldn't want to burn $3.5K on a maybe it will work senario. Or is one of your workshops willing to keep remaking them for me until they are right? For $3.5K? I agree with the extortion comment.....however if you are gullible enough to pay the price without doing the research you deserve to get burnt........... mind you if I was to build a car to try to win a Championship I might well spend the money for the best equipment I can get......and the advances in technology ect are certainly making things cheaper...aye! Roy, nearly with you on the 8-9G!!!!.....I was in the region of 10K to 12K.....if we were to sell one of ours that is.
  10. We are talking about the same thing are we not.......sorry your not getting through to me....I got lost again at $200 oh by the way can you recommend the workshop that I can get em made for $1,500?
  11. really! Sorry my bad....your right and all counts!....was not trying to offend you! Oh and I didn't avoid the question on strip/down & maintenance I just though it was irrelevant at the time but now I know why you ask! .....If you really want to know, the last time we stripped down one of our motors for a freshen up it was only for ring's and bearing's...same as it was the last three times before that.....approx 2K On another topic we did have a cam problem for a little while there.....but thats because the cam grind was crooked from the cam grinder....damn it....was our last blank as well.....goes to show you that when taking short cuts to save a buck it can quite often cost you!
  12. Don't worry I read it as exhaust manifold not extractors. Mate if you can get those EM's remade for $2,500K thats great.....should start selling them......quite a few people out there worldwide would lap them up. I have talked to people about those EM's from ex Gibson's + the guy that did them in the first place saying quite a bit of cash back in the day. I'm sure that there have been advances in technology since then so you could be right......wonder wether they would be able to get the R&D info directly from GMS......lol! Who sold his for $1,500? Terry? Chris? Rod? or the other guy down in VIC? Is there another set available? And you right on paying premium prices....they could just go to somewhere like Midas and get em made instead.....drop it off at 9AM pick it up at 5PM scenario aye? As for the motor....the fact is you didn't answer my question on how many 2lt's......! Replacement parts....I don't get your question! Cars not running to the wire....probably not......If they get banged up now they can never be replaced.....back then they could drive at 10/10's and not have any regard for car as it was replaceable. I know you obviously don't care but its not really all about you! I was actually talking about motor rebuild costs and I was specifying an estimate on what it would cost to remake an RB20DET motor to the same spec....I don't see your issue! I also understand why you are talking about other motors.....I am sure there are many motors (The RB26 out of the Winfield car for e.g....probably not a good e.g as it would cost way more that 20K) that you can get done for $20......my question to you is how many can race in a 2lt turbo class for e.g? If there was such a class of racing like that of cause. As I said "In saying that, and as said before, this would only be of value to someone who new and wanted it".
  13. $2,500? your shitting me are you not......If you could get the extractors made for $2,500 you would see alot more around on street and track cars would you not?.....just remember how much the standard GTs-R ones sell for second hand!!!....ps theres a bit more to them than how they look! The difference between a GMS RB20 and 99% of the others is that you can develop above 300rwkw's and then thrash it non stop for about 2,500 km's or more. Not many 2lt motors out there from the 80's that can make claim to that. It would probably cost you somewhere in the region of $20K to $25K to remake one to the exact same spec's....minus the ECU. In saying that, and as said before, this would only be of value to someone who new and wanted it.
  14. Spotted.....a dark grey R35 on epping RD heading towards the city at about 7AM.......considering I have drive about 3 of them now on the track this is the first one I have seen on the road since there release....go figure
  15. Hey Glen, Looks good....I like the exhaust.....must be quite with 2 mufflers? Where did you put the cat? Is the guy that made up the suction pipe willing to make more? If so how much? Does he need the car to make em up?
  16. hmmmmm.....yeh R32....nice!!!!!.......got any pic's of your Stag? Don't want to be Captain Obvious here but...... P.S. Am I missing something......Is this thread linked to the rest of the site or something!
  17. I know that one......I had a car booked in for next Tuesday and rang to confirm....they have kicked me to next month......guess who's not getting any work from me.
  18. yeh he cannot see over the dash
  19. Really! So as not to confuse the sale for anyone else.....it seem like this exhaust is for a NM35 not a C34... would I be right is saying that this system will NOT fit a C34 as it is a completely different car other than the name, its 4WD and a wagon.
  20. OMFG.....ROFL....just realised....nah there not doing that are they... BTW....love the RS260.....there an awesome wagon once you get em going.....still wish I had gone that way instead of the M35!
  21. I think our sticker guy has something like it....did you want me to chase it up?
  22. Yeh pretty sure it's under the back on the RHS .....right behind the rear wheel. P.S. Any chance I can get on that scanner......I think I may have the same problem
