What do you think if you have a high flow turbo? Would it not be better to still have a single? I had an R32(about 650hp with high flows) years ago and we started with splits and switched back to singles...worked out better for us....is that because we had more room to do it properly. Also what do you think if you had no Cat(for off street use only)....would a single or split work better?

Yeh I know that one.....the turbo issues were a recall from memory as was ours.....would have liked to have kept the originals as nothing seemed wrong with them at the time. Something for the new buyers I guess..."If your aregoing to purchase as older V10 make sure that the turbos have been done.....or prepair to get bent over

Can you elaborate on this? I gather you are talking about the V10 TTDi? Just a question as we have now done over 145km's and nothing has gone wrong to date bar the tailshaft($2,500 ouch!!!). Might as well prepare myself.....parts as you said are not the cheapest.

everyday car as well..... a second hand V10 Touareg TTDI....about $60,000......can pull a plane you know In all seriousness ....well had an ML55 with at least 2.5 tonne trailer and used to get 29-31lt's per hundred at 90km's on the freeway.....the same trailer with the Tourareg is 14-15lt's per hundred at 110km's..... only problem is you forget the trailers there sometimes. Not to mention the air suspension so that you never have to hand jack the trailer up.....just drop the car to the deck, reverse up and the raise it...job done.

Thats what my standard was doing, in fact it was just all over the place. Andy will confirm this story....I was beaten from a set of light one day by a NA Forester....I am still hunting him for a re-run That does not make sense....mine is BB, I have no cat, good airfilter, an exhaust system and it does not make that sound(If it's the same sound). My pull from the turbo (although very laggy from standing start....need a transbrake) is in short awesome and violent from about 4,500rpm all the way to the rev limiter and does not drop in any way to the speed limiter(tested on a track ). Not trying to shit you either mate....If you were Ian I would be though!!!.... . PS. FTG Nissan was were I was broken down in March.....pity I didn't see your car parked around anywhere....would have saved some money in spare parts

lol....I know that ....this will not feel right in the way it delivers the power.....can tell you this though, mine no longer makes any strange indescribable sounds. Hey did you go BB or are you still the standard setup just highflowed....maybe you still have a problem with your turbo??....just kidding.......I'm not an expert at sounds I have never heard but his description fits mine exactly. I searched all over the car for the F#$KING sound....even got to the stage that I was going to pull the gearbox out and have it rebuilt.
