Description is like the same sound as mind made.....did it for a while then stopped, thats when the rattling started......then there was nothing, not even boost....I could not describe it either at the time(I thought it was the gearbox)......I put the new turbo in, no more rattle and know more strange sound thats hard to explain. Tell me does you turbo seem as though it has multiple boost settings sometimes under full peddle? P.S. Danny I got 40,000K's out of my turbo from the start of that noise....you will know when you are close as that will be when the rattling sound starts to really irritate you.

Sounds like Turbo time!!!....sounds sort of like a slipping clutch or a rattling sound?.....only under load? Is it there all the time? Does it do it under full throttle?

LOL....I think you just threw petrol on the BBQ......but comparing it to a Hyundai .......you'll need more than a fire suit next time I see you....I have a special can of race fuel ready for you. In all seriousness the first of you 3 points is true....point 4. good room but its no Falcadore or Commalcon. Point 5: my whole setup cost me $520 and thats three screens DVD, Ipod and Digital TV. One thing you did miss is the turbo....the standard ones tends to let go by about 120,000km's depending on how they have been looked after in Japan. Anyway you have my number if you have more ?'s. Mine cost me about $1,400....problem is I don't think you can get them anymore....also the eibach springs I have are not for the AR-X. That being why my car is a lot lower than Andy's(not that I have a problem with that). If you are putting 20" wheels on your car with the eibach springs this may be an issue at the front as my 19"'s only just fit.

spotted a blue M35 coming onto Pennants Hill RD at Thornleigh at about 6.20 this arvo....nice car......loved the turbo sound!

Problem is how quickly the throttle opens.... unfortunately with drive by wire you don't always have complete control over this.....with the VQ25det if you step on it from a standing start the throttle opens very slowly....you are better with a slow squeeze of the peddle....while the car is in motion the power is fine and has hardly any lag, goes like shit off a stick....It's just getting it going from standstill thats the problem.

No boost controller.....running the standard 14-15psi......Mechanical is good....Yeh used to be able to do that with the standard turbo....new one wont let me.

my problem is takeoff.e.g. My mates EVO9.....standing start he puts 5-6 car lengths on me....rolling start from about 20-30km's I put 1 on him......just takes to long to get going.

might go to the truck stop tonight......... depending on how thirsty I get for Beer!.....mmmmmmm Beeeeeeerrrrr!!!!!

yeh mine does the surging thing as well.....did it with the standard turbo to. Don't know about the more power when cold thing....mine goes like a piece of shit when its cold.
