Service intervals are dependant on the quality of product imo e.g. cheap $40-$50 be prepared to do 5,000km services or risk your standard turbo dying......I know my oil is good for at least 20,000km's(the can say's 40,000km's not that I would do it).
With the oil and filters I use I am currently doing my service's at about 10,000 to 12,000km's and thats with the "occasional" spirited drive. But if I decide to do a track day, dyno run or drag's it get's a fresh load of oil.
Services are up to the owner but in my experience you get what you pay for with servicing......It saying that imo the best and cheapest way to do a service is to do it yourself that way what you save in service charges you get back in quality product's.
