  1. Easy as! Actually I kinda had to think a bit. When I am behind the wheel, it comes automatically, but in the test you are more detached from the situation which makes the decision process more interesting.
  2. I had a bit more of a look and I can't see anything immediately obvious. My Engine bay is pretty well oil free bar in that little spot in the picture above. I felt under the oil filter and there is some oil there but nothing on top. I am just wondering if may the seal has gone on it. Although it hasn't been 5000k since I replaced it. I might have to take it back to mildren where I had it tested and say hey, my car has suddenly developed an oil leak since you tested it, what did you do to it?
  3. I found a leak under my car which I am not sure what it could be. It could be oil. It certainly feels oily and is black. I am just wondering if when I had my oil pressure test they forgot to do something up properly? any advice?
  4. SHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGG BABY! The third from left in the top and bottom row look awesome!
  5. yeah I copuld have bought and after market gauge but I have no idea on how to install it myself. oh well these things happen
  6. Well got my car back today from the oil pressure test and all is fine thank god. They reckon that it is just the sender on the gauge which maybe faulty. Charged me 88 bucks for doing the test. They tested the car when it was both hot and cold. Cold tested 100 psi and hot was 80 psi.

  8. Daisy Duke (Jessica Simpson) that is! Cos she P.H.A.T.
  9. I think I count myself extremely lucky from all accounts that I have read so far. In a moment of extreme impatience from the traffic that I had been experiencing all day and the traffic jams from accidents, I stupidly took a turn off on a country road too fast and got my car extremely side ways before doing a 270 deg spin. This happened in front of an unmarked police car. I am pretty sure the guy was off duty cos he had his kids in the car. I got off with a official caution. Now if that is not lucky I don't know what is. From now I am driving like I am 'Driving miss Daisy'
  10. Thanks for that Steve. Do you have the number for Brad Fox? I think that if they find anything with my car after the oil pressure check I might take it somewhere else to get it fixed if there is something wrong. I get the feeling that Mildren charge like wounded bulls.
  11. That is for a gts-t and that was nothing special. I am pretty sure he was referring to a single plate ceramic clutch as he described as a kind of normal driving around clutch that you could give it a bit of shit, which is the description I have heard from other people about single plate ceramic clutches.
  12. I have booked my car in for monday morning to get the oil pressure checked. They told me it would take about an hour to do so and they would charge me $80. They are going to keep the car for the day to test it when the engine is both warm and cold. We shall see what happens. I asked for a rough quote for a clutch for my car and they said I was looking at around $1400. Inside my head I went Holy crap.
  13. it is a r33 s2 gts-t and I am guessing no one has been there. next question is do I feel like a guinea pig?
  14. I was wondering if anyone has taken their car to Mildren at Thebarton? If so what were they like price wise and quality of work? I wanted to get a few things checked out on my car by a mechanic that knows something about skylines and wont tell me I need to replace my turbo with a sunbeam blender or tell me I need a new diff when all I need is to change the rear tyre. I only ask as it is the one closest to where I live. cheers
  15. Steve, Is this a cash only job or will they except payment via card? Cheers
  16. Thanks guys, I was getting kinda worried about what my gauge was reading. I will still have my car checked out to make sure for peace of mind, but these words have certainly put my mind at ease a little.
  17. Is the installation of a mechanical gauge easy or something that I would have to take to a mechanic to do?
  18. I don't normally give it any shit, but when I do I wait for it to reach normal operating temp. Not sure what you mean by detonation sorry, I'm a newbie in auto stuff.
  19. I think from memory that mine stayed relatively constant. I did notice however it is more exaggerated when the car is cold as opposed to when it gets up to temperature. any more thoughts? will be getting it checked out a.s.a.p. though. can't afford a new engine. thanks
  20. Hey Guys! This may be a slightly long story, but please read because it may provide some clues. I was on a cruise and basically I cornered too fast (Stupid I know) and lost control and spun out. I wasn't trying to be a smart arse, just trying to get somewhere in a hurry. I was extrememly lucky in more ways than one. I backed over one of those aluminium white reflector things that are on the side of country roads when I stopped spinning (only did 270deg). I feel like an absolute tool and an idiot for going too fast. I tore loose an Earth wire which in turn blew an ignition fuse. This lead to no dash instrumentation and no power windows and best of all stopped my alternator from charging my battery. Once the fuse was replaced, everything was working again. I have checked underneath the car and can't find any damage from the reflector post other than the obvious wire that was torn loose. This leads me to today................. When I was going to a mates place I noticed that the oil pressure gauge was getting really high when I was pulling high revs. even around 4g on the rev tacho, it was reaching the line between 4 ang 8 on the gauge. It was almost hitting 8 when I was pulling over 5.5-6 g on the revs. I don't think that this is normal, but I can't verify it as I don't know anyone who has a skyline presently. I can't see any oil leaks and the oil level looks good. I have a S2 R33 which is stock except for a pod filter. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I will probably have to take in to a mechanic (anyone know anyone around the woodville area?) maybe morepowa or some place like that but at least I will have a possible clue as to what I am looking at. cheers
  21. Thanks for the input guys. A wheel brace probably wouldn't be a bad thing. It would probably stop all those thefts from driveways.
  22. I know there have been hooning laws for a while now, I was just wondering if the wheel brace thing and reving your engine is something new. Maybe there is nothing in this or nothing new. I am all for having hooning laws, especially when there are a lot of idiot p-plate drivers out there that have just got there licence and think that they are Michael Schumacher. I am not worried about them killing themselves, I just don't want them to take innocent people out with them. If there are to be hooning laws then they should apply equally to everyone and not just import drivers. The number dungadoores I see hooning around with nothing but sticky tape holding the doors on. It makes my hair hurt.
  23. A friend of mine told me that there were new hooning laws that came into effect today. Apparently the police have the right to put a wheel brace on your car for up to 6 months for hooning. Apparently just taking off or reving your car loud is now considered hooning. Has anyone else heard something along those lines? When I was out tonight I just drove past the Netley police station (on the opposite side of the road to the station) normally and I had a cop car pull across all lines of traffic to follow me down a side street. I rounded the corner nice and easily and sat on 50 in the side street. basically didn't give him a reason to pull me up. He then floored it to go past me and went around a round about crazily, no lights flashing what-so-ever. If that is not hooning I don't what is. But then again, there's a rule for us and a rule for them. Are these hooning laws about public safety or revenue? I only ask cos a lot of cops don't have the public safety in mind when they are driving around, i.e. like tonight.
  24. Yeah that's dodgy as all hell. I would have said that you would have given him your address after he bought the car if there were any issues with it or explained to him with all the thefts lately that skyline owners don't give out there address to people they don't know. He did sound like he was pressing a little. There is no point in loosing sleep over it though.
  25. went to victor on Sunday to help my cousin with his fence. Spotted a lot of cops around. they had pulled a lot of people over, but I never got a look from them. Was just driving casually. spotted heaps of speed cameras but nothing. Even drove around town a bit.
