  1. Go karts - I'm a maybe, depending on what day and whether the planets are aligned or not. Had my first "team meeting" with our big boss from Sydney last night. Initial plan was to go out for a quick drink afterwards and be on our way. Woke up this morning covered in BBQ sauce, still feeling drunk and wearing shoes.
  2. ^ I have hektik cracked extractors. Who knows how to weld!?
  3. I liked the way the s15 (blue one) was simply point and steer, oversteer a bit through corners and it all looked controllable. Nsx just floated through lol. Back in the day when I was a wee lad, in fact it was the day I got my first deck of pokemon cards, was with my mum at Honda in kedron and there was a purple nsx in the showroom, first and last time I've ever seen one.
  4. Migraine. Buh. This cheered me up though. Would love to have a car set up like the Kei Office S15
  5. Driving sister to work on Saturday morning never gets any easier, freezing ma titties off
  6. Thanks for the feedback, certainly have put to rest the doubts I had with these types of cars. I will more than likely be bringing a fellow SAU member along when I go to inspect. Will be waiting for the right car to pop up though, may take some time.
  7. Hi guys I've been trolling these forums for a few years now, reading all the threads about "which car should I buy" etc etc etc. Now there's a lot of talk about the RB26 being a high maintenance engine, prone to oil failures, synchro's and turbos blowing. I want a real world answer to how much these cars cost to run, what the rate of part failures are and what the general experience of owning one was/is like. If I was to purchase one I'd be going for a Vspec 33 - midnight purple of course. I've always wanted one but I don't want to go in buying one not knowing how much it's going to cost to run. I work in the city and travel by train every day so I generally only drive 2 or 3 times a week so it wouldn't be a daily driver but I do want that ability to be able to walk outside and know it will start first time.
  8. That is possibly the worst dash I have ever seen. I take it you guys don't watch much Top Gear! The RS was a special edition focus, FPV club sent an email to me about them a while ago, there's reportedly 70 of them in Brisbane (maybe Australia?) with only 500 being made globally. There was an episode on Top Gear where they reviewed this car, a subaru and a prototype sports hatch. Now, if they made these AWD and they could tune the computers, I'd buy one! The problem a lot of guys are having (or were having back when the XR5T's were becoming popular) is noone could crack the software to tune the car. Have driven one of the new FPV GS, fantastic car. Never driven a stock car that wheelspins without wringing it's neck. Amazing. I always have and always will be a turbo man though. A while ago I heard the new XR8's would also receive a supercharged 5L, I heard that when the GT and GS were in production though so I'm not sure how accurate that is. If I worked for government I'd be taking up that voluntary renumeration package! They are smart though, all the payments from it will come as one big payment, meaning you'll get hit with a huge tax fee Has anyone else got a singular "s" down the bottom of the page, below the Fast Reply box and above the advertisement?
  9. Well you can pick an F6 up for around 50 these days. While yes, the value of them drops to shit after a few years the original 03/04 XR6T's can still be sold for around 18,19k provided they've been treated right. Typhoons are still around the 30 - 40s mark for a well treated one as well. The performance models seem to hold value a bit easier. FG XR6T is actually quicker than the F6 is anyway!
  10. Had plates 430 - FIR or something similar. Ever asked to borrow one to take down to the shops and back?
  11. Dan, Did a red 430 come and visit your work today? So.Much.Win I think the novated lease thing probably works out better for companies who offer employees a car as a package, then they can keep the maintenance costs etc all in the one price. Apart from the tax benefits I don't see any point in it for myself. I'd rather do the loan thing, although I generally try and save half the value of the car and get the other on a loan, sort of works out for me anyway. FG F6's are going pretty cheap these days
  12. It's very yellow. At least you'd spot it if it were ever stolen. John, I was looking at novated leases today (come permanent for us, we'll drop your pay rate by 10k but hey you can get a novated lease through us!) and they have fully maintained lambo's starting around the 18k per month mark.
  13. Saw your video on YouTube tonight, looking good. The fg xr6t you raced, was it stock with auto?
  14. Did you revert your 33.4 back to a 33 last year some time? I remember seeing a white 33 with the smiley face plates around stafford probably around this time last year.
  15. This could explain the stormtrooper walking down st pauls terrace with a suitcase this afternoon. You guys should drive thongslappin' fords and holdens, you only need a good tyre on one side at the rear to get traction in the wet!
  16. Mangs Day 1 of quitting smoking. Can already tell it's going to be hard. Does anyone know who owns the black 34 gtt around albany creekish area? Seen it a few times, has an SAU sticker on the rear quarter. Would like to know what kit is on it
  17. He farkin better be back. Made an epic purchase at Coles last night - Who remembers Dunkaroos! In other news, life sucks when the corporate noonga's decide 5k of your salary is now going into their bonus instead.
  18. Dubstep fiends - about a year ago when I played CSS alot, there was a song that would come on and it had a part of summer heights high in it - "how is it ok for you to bully ben?" any ideas on song name?
  19. Yep the latch has snapped off the fuse box, looks like the mounts are destroyed as well. A friend of mine took his to ford and got it replaced under warranty, they pulled the entire fuse box out and swapped it with one that had metal on the bonnet release instead of plastic like mine. Do you know if I would be able to get a bf fuse box and swap em over easily or is it a bitch of a job?
  20. Mangs Know anyone who's worked at Ford as a mechanic or spare parts person? Need to work out what to do about my fusebox and the bonnet release lever and how it's snapped and all. Housemates pants friends cats are staying with us at the moment, that makes 3 cats in the house. I think I'm going insane. One was bad enough! Come on 5pm tomorrow. Can tell next week is going to be good, everyone will have taken the 3 days off, go to work and do my certifications! EDIT: Can't believe I missed this: I can has 26?
