9Well so far guys I've done the chasis work and have all confidence its done right. After all i have another r32 chassis i took all the measurement from. For those of you that dont remember this car got in a very bad accident writing off a toyota camary as well. After yesterday the car is well on its way back. I have a few concerns. I had an rb20 in it originally wit a rom tune ecu running 550cc injectors and z32 afm it was pretty quick. To change the tune all ill have to do is call the guy that tuned it and he sends a new chip. Obviously i know this isnt the way to tune the car properly, but just a start towards a power fc. Now im planning on installing a rb26 running sigal turbo (halset hx35w). This is really a budget build using all my left over parts i have. As for the actual motor its all stock with refurbished head and everything will be stock other than new acl race bearing, mls gasket set (includes head gasket.) New oem oil, and water pump, block restrictor. Thats about it really. Do you guys think i can wire up my gts4 rb20 ecu to work on the rb26.???? Using the 550 injectors and singal z32 afm. Or should i just go for the power fc. ??? Here are some photos of the car repaired so far.

Shoota's R33 GT-R RB30/26
MJTru replied to Shoota_77's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Man thats mest up. I hate when life gets in the way. But doesnt seem to big of a deal. I know you will looking at those piston cant help yourself but to get it all sorted out. I was hoping you would have been boosting by now. -
I ran 10 psi with no hot egt's at all much less knock. imo 22psi for me is were i start cooling things down and controlling things. A tuner that have a limit of lets say 15psi would have a way more aggressive igniton setup that say a person thats running a higher booster setup. So maybe your getting higher egts at lower boost than i am. Im not sure unless i see an actual log. But as of now i can only guess
-
Intresting. I cant speak for no one else. But for me and our fuel type and tune leaving out the actual mechanics of the build motor. I start at 22 psi. My max boost is 30 psi on rb26. Its weird for me to hear all these opions of what or when to start using it. I hate the stuff realy. I rather drop the fuel (quality ) and just use NOS. but im new at using METH. ill see how it goes. Starting at 22 psi works for me.

Missing Rb26 Cam Caps, What Can I Replace Them With
MJTru replied to Dj laBBy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes i agree. We call it line boring over here. Wit an old rb in the pass i used some gapping tape to make sure it wasnt tight. And i took one from an old head. Still working to this day. But that was a old nissan laurel. Still running today. But if your going to be racing/ beating the motor it will need to be line bored. Same goes for main caps. If one was missing. Nissan is ok with there clearances from factory. Still good practice to do it the right way. -
I want to see what mine will do or feel like. I was a little worried that having my pump and tank in the trunk was to far. So i installed a solenoid valve close to the jet by the intake. Feel ill only use it over 22 psi progressively. Ill be using a bit of NOS as well. This was a nice read up.

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
MJTru replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well, im willing to do some stuff I've never tried before as well. I just finished up a head i did myself. I am now thinking of drilling out/open up the oil return hole out for better flow. And the ones at the rear of the head will be cleaned up. Any suggestions here. Nothing was wrong with this motor. Im doing a full stock rebuild. But will push the motor with single turbo, 550cc injectors power FC. the bottom end will be all stock but have ACL race bearings new rings restrictor stock new oil pump, n1 water pump. MLS head gasket. I have made up my mind to fix my gts4 chassis that i crash. I have attched a photos of the head and the chassis im fixing myself. Sorry if im of topic a bit here but this is an opportunity to see if all of us can collectively make some decisions to control the oil issues in a rb26. I have also repaired my damage Racefab oil pan. Photo attached as well. -
Is this method you mention building boost off the line. Or is it whiles the car is moving. Im just not to clear about this after reading. ??
-
I agree with getting a new pump and coils. What milage is on the motor???? I once did almost the same thing but i went with HKS 3071proS turbo kit. It was still side (low) mount and ran great. Thats where the new clutch came in handy as well. I wouldn't do another HKS turbo again due to price. But a gt30 is wonderful at that setup. Providing the engine is in good health. Good luck intrested to see how it goes:D
-
Thanks mate i will check it out
-
I think where im going wrong here is using NOS to bring in a bigger turbo whiles in motion. The lag spot vs. Using NOS to build boost off the line. In nutral free reving. = cant be done. Well at least in my head.
-
This is where im a little confused. Wouldn't the NOS damage the motor in nutral. Say i have the system set up. Now at at the line staging the car waiting for the light floor the car revs are maxed out lets say at 8k fuel cuts but now NOS is being dumped and like you say until boost is reached. Keeping in mind im not just dumping NOS but a mixture of NOS and fuel like the kit i have. Wouldn't this damage the engine.???? Or do you mean use it normally when the car is floored off the line.?? I can see a lean effects right away. Maybe theres somthing im missing here.
-
I have a power fc. I also have a PS2000 but never got around to using it. Ill have to ship the car miami to have it tuned. But im very intrested in getting some boost off the line. Big turbo or not. STATUS can you go through how the system would work. Throttle switch and rpm switch. i have two gtrs and would be intrested on how the system would work. Even if i was to do it on a honda civic. I just want to understand how it works and try it at some point. I understand shooting NOS will bring in a laggy turbo much faster like in the video, but using it to build boost on the line is my interest.
-
So let me ask this. What would be you guys recommendation for getting the car leaving the line with boost. What ALS would you guys pick.
-
Sadly i have a manual. But ive heard of guys having manual shift and still using nos to spool the turbo off the line. Using a boost switch to control the injection of nos. No thatd not the car im using in my profile photo. Its a r32 gtr
-
He is very aggressive and just keeps it at rev limiter at launch.
-
Looking to spool the turbo with trying to cause a fire. But i have heard of many ways that system works. Some guys bypass fresh air and duct it in the runners of the turbo manifold. But lots of guys in the states are doing this NOS METHOD to get boost off the line. From what i hear it works good. Nothing like the old bang bang methods. I just thought i would read up on it before i experience it first hand. I lile to understand how things work in my head before trying them. Check out this link of a supra using it.
-
I was reading around. Please look at the attached photo. But after reading it and looking a zex kit thats ment to do the same thing. The info i believe said on number 7 to place the fuel/NOS injector after the TB. I thought it would be before. Im drag racing a gtr. Rb26. With a gt42r. Would like to leave with 30psi. At around 9k. Its getting a bit clear in my head and may just buy this zex kit but the pressure switch look weak.
-
Hi guys have any one done a setup using NOS to spool a big turbo. I was reading on google that this is possible but cant seem to get my head around how the system would work. From what i gather you would need a fuel/NOS injector. But would it be before or after the TB.?? I also read that you would need a pressure switch to turn it on and off like a pressure switch. From what i gather it basically get rid of lag and can leave with full boost. Im look for a diagram of the lay out. Does anyone have any links to how it would be done. ?????
-
Lol. I did google it mate. But just thought i would ask. If not one thing i learn being on this site was to look before asking. I was intrested to see what was said because i wasn't sure of the actual size. Thanks a million guys. Thanks for the link as well. i did order fitting, but i didnt check and i ordered m16x1.25 -8an. Thanks again cause it all makes sense now. I need to buy a thread finder. A tool i always overlooked.
-
Hi guys about to start up this r32 gtr and found out i need this fitting and was wondering if anyone knows the size and thread pitch. Its a greddy fuel rail and its the center fitting. Attached is a photo of it. ??

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
MJTru replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
What I have figured out from the other side of the world is. Is this thread needs to be more foused. People on this topic should face couple of facts even though they may not like it. For circuit racing there is just nothing better than a dry sump setup and you can sit here and talk all ya want about taking long left hand turns or rights for that matter. At the end of the day if this thread was to advise people in prioritizing there results based on there investments and time spent on there motors as well as how they use it, it would help 90 % of the people that read this thread and stop at page 30, and under. Prioritize the info and save time and money. It reminds me of the 90 -10 rule in life 90 % of the people making 10% of the money and 10% of the people making 90% of the money. It relates to almost everything in life. It even goes for hp goals. Wow. Funny how people react to just opions here. Im one of them. -

MJTru if you keep complaining you may as well sell your skyline and buy a toyota corolla so we don't have to hear your opinions anymore. Sorry mate sorry. Ill stop complaining.
