My last bov was a hks ssq bov. Now i'm trying a tial 50mm, and i notice that it opens when ever i let the throttle go (close) it has a 1.1 Bar spring and the car is running 45 psi with gt42r turbo. Why is this, and is it good? Thanks mate cheers

i noticed that the oil return on the passenger side made my engine breath a little heavier What do you mean by breath a little heavier. do you mean make more power, or just rev faster???? but it looks like i will be placing it on the left with a weld in fitting, after i installed restrictor and drill out head and block oil return gallaries. to much oil in the head has plagued me for a long time and this build i will get on top of it Thanks Mate. cheers

2 spoolimports oil drain kits just arrived. Looking on line, and this site i saw people placing the return on the right and some on the left front side of the oil pan. Witch side should i place the return line, looking at the engine from the front.????? Thanks mates.

This is my 2 cents, You tube has a good vid of this, check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mzf_n9EM-p0&feature=related -
Has anyone used the spoolimport oil drain kit for the rb25det and 26 heads.???? Will this control my oil problem. When i push the car hard the oil would fill up the catch can, at about 26 psi, for long high rpms. What i have done is put the oil restrictor in the block only in the middle cause i still have the lash lifter set up, and the spool oil drain kit.

ok mate. in skylines 10-15 ohms is high 2-i would say to 8 ohms is low so a rule is anything over 10 is consided high. Good luck and let us know what happens we are willing to help. Cheers.

Haltech Platinum Pro For Rb26? Vs Sm4?
MJTru replied to BLITZ-26's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i dont like Haltech after finding out that the ecu doesn't deal with knock. And in my opinion knock is one major part of tuning. In my case i tune on my own. i dont like the idea that i have to buy a knock microphone now. So go with Power fc mate better and easier to tune. D-jetro or L-jetro hope i helped -
Mate last time i checked mine, that sound right but i do know that they are high. The gtr's use low and a resistor box to bring them up to a high range. I wired a gtr's r33 power fc into a gtst and all i did for the injectors was, (dont use the resistor box and use gtst injectors, and it worked.Tthe power fc liked it, and all was good after that) Remember, that was only with the injectors only, there is other mods to be done to make the gtr's pfc to work in the gtst. thats not your case hope i helped answer your question.

ok i contacted clutch master today, and they said that i can go ahead and install it with out a torque plate, with i dont agree with, they also said that they are in the process of making a torque plate for this application. I was wondering if the washer idea would work. 2-3 weeks for the torque to be made a mail to me. Well i have made up my mind to wait for it I will not install it with out a torque plate. If i didn't need it they wouldn't be making it. thats what i'm thinking.

no i'm not, we dont have those over here. I googled it and saw an ugly car that comes with a inline 6. Is that it.???????lol I was thinking, can i use some steel washers on the bolts insted of the whole ring.??? The washers should protect the aluminum flywheel when i start tightening it. I acn also test fit the flywheel to the crank before i start to build the motor to make shore that the bolts of just right, length and all. what do you guys think????

thats a good idea mate, but whats a vl???????

Hi Mate I just got a clutch master twin plate 850 series twin plate clutch for my rb build, but after reading the manual i noticed that i need a torque plate when using a aluminum flywheel, because the bolts can cut into the flywheel when i'm tighten them or worst come loose. Does anyone know why the kit doesnt come with this plate??? do i need it still???? Were can i get one from.??? thanks in avance

From what i have heard the N1 oil pump for rb25 is good for 7500rpms mate. But in my last motor i sometimes ran it to 9000 and it lived. After taking the motor apart the pump looked fine, but i know at those rpms for a long time would kill it. The skyline motor failed do to detination. I ran about 26 psi on pump gas. All the signs are there. But this time will be different. 110+ octain for shore mate. I also am adding the oil drain kit from spoolimport to both heads, on both cars. Does anyone know of some good 1000cc injector, with all info (ms accross different voltage points) Using Haltech ps2000. thanks

Ok mates So I'm building my rb25det motor, and I'm planning on pushing it to the limit. I'm building 2 motors one with a stock head and one with a built head. I'm using 87mm cp pistons and eagle rods in both motors. The comp is 8.5:1 for both motors, The one with the built head is a 240sx and the one with the stock head is an r33 skyline. Now the skyline has the following work done. 1. ACL main and rod bearings 2. N1 oil and water pump 3. ARP main and head studs 4. Crank collar and block to head restrictor ( one in the middle, lash lifters) 5. AMS GT950R turbo And 6boost manifold with 44mm tial waste gate. 6. Custom intake with top mount fuel rail and Sard 800cc injectors 7. Split fire coils, with HKS twin power. 8. MLS head gasket Cosmetic 1.2mm 9. Full exhaust with FMIC 10. External fuel pump and regulator 11. Power fc Ross crank pulley Clutch master twin plate aluminum fly wheel clutch kit. Now that's the skyline. From what I've learnt from SAU I have tried and applied to this build. Is there any other things I should do for this build, I'm planning on 500hp. For the 240sx all of the above is basically the same just the head is built and the turbo is a GT42R with 60mm Tial waste gate. Planning on 800hp. The oil pump in the 240sx is a greedy unit, I'm using a high volume sump, Haltech PS2000, Other than that the rest is the same. I have left the head detail's out, But it will have valves and angle job, guides, cams , port and polished. Please feel free to make a suggestion thanks in advance. the pics are of the old motor in the r33 skyline

i just got an rb26det water alt and ps pulley kit. I noticed that the water pump and ps pulley's are bigger than the rb25det ones. Can these pulleys work on my rb25det???? i ordered them by accident. Any help would be helpful.

I have the lash type head on my car, But planning on doing a rebuild on the head, Is it recommended only for the solid heads only or can i use then as well???? Before i had this problem of to much oil in the head, What can i do to reduce this much oil in the head????? on lash tpye heads????? The hose from the back of the head back to the oil pan, like what spoon is offering, i'm thinking. Thanks mate

Its hard for me to find an rb30 block, the thought has crossed my mind, but i like the rb25det block as well, where i'm located its easier ti find all kind of parts for rb25 and rb26, the the 30 would also be a new learning curve for me as i know nothing about them. I will pull the block apart and ask my machenist to see if he can rebore it as small as possible. The car was making 528hpatw on a stock head. Thats good for me., so as of right now i'm planning on a finishing hone and sonic test, then i will rebuild the block with the same rods, because the engine never knocked. The motor never stopped running i just, took it apart cause of a lifter noise, thats when i noticed that #6 piston had a small pease missing, this damaged the head, and lifters. So the rods are still good, some new bearings, pistons, main studs, oil pump, crank coller, and the block should be like new again.
