Oh and you may find 24mm wont cut the mustard after being spoiled with 18mm. Sure the quality is better -- thought the 24-105 isn't one of canon's finest lenses. I got the 17-50mm Tamron which is noisy (Autofocus) but the sharpness is in the same league as the Canon 50mm f1.4 and the 70-200 f4L. And it's actually usable at f2.8, unlike the Canon 50mm f1.8.

If it's your first flash, save your money and get a Sigma EF-500 Super. They're a crap load cheaper and are great to learn on. No point spending $200-300 more than you have to. The Canon ones are great but really they're similarly specced and the only positives about getting the Canon is if you have more than 1 flash. I have a 30D, as does my friend and we both swear by these flashes. Especially because having two means you can set up some pretty awesome wireless master/slave stuff. In fact, if you have the money for the Canon, buy TWO Sigmas for about the same price!

Hi Kermit, Your inbox is full... About to buy a dump/front pipe and wondering if I pop into JSHOP some time, what would I be looking at to have this fitted. Also, while I'm there it would be awesome for you to give me your oppinions on what could be done about my center muffler which is mounted far too low and scrapes on everything.

R34 Turbotech Install, Wont Stay Under 1kg/cm

Make sure you dont have it in back-to-front. yes I've done it, boosted way too much with the screw out as far as possible. Flipped it over and all was good! -
Wont matter a bit. The GTT is a quick car and more than suited to a bit of track work.

You didn't loose any fuel. Your fuel gauge is an approximation on how much fuel you have. It is not accurate by any description. That drop is just the fuel reading settling. Think of it more that your fuel gauge was being overoptimistic when it was higher up, when it settled down a little lower it was giving you a more accurate reading of how much fuel you actually have.

If your intercooler is working, it should be hot. It's there to dissipate heat, so if the whole thing is warm, it's doing its job.

I got done by a hand-held doing 89 in a 70 zone when I was 100% sure I was doing under 65. I talked to the cop for a long time, begged and pleaded, he even said he'd write done the circumstances in the notes section of the fine so I could take it to court, but the simple thing is, there's no proof in my favour. He has a readout on his gun that says 89 and he beleived it was my car, there's nothing I could have done even though I know I'm in the right. These things happen and unfortunately you just have to move on and take it like a man. So, unless you have some outstanding evidence that you were not speeding, then you don't ahve a chance and it wont be worth your trouble.

Unless you re-wire it, another mod I was considering but haven't had the chance to look into. Probably a bit beyond my electronics skill, but I have a few mates who are into that sort of thing and should be able to help me out there.

It should be fine if you change all values to zero. At least, that's how I thought they worked. They're a piggyback, so I believe they only +/- values, not actually change them altogether.

I went over the pit just a few months ago, passed no problems but didnt give any permits for anything, though the only questionable thing i have is the pod and he just checked it was nice and secure and sent me on my way.

Because HID's are a lot brighter than standard lights and emit a different kind of light, and because of this the light is not controlled and adjusted correctly. So when somebody comes driving down the road in the oposite direction to you, they can see sweet f**k all because you've essentially got high-beams blaring into their eyes. That's why you need the washer, projector and auto leveling because these three things stop the HID light going astray and blinding the crap out of everybody else on the road. I'm quite interested in replacing my high beams with a cheap HID kit, becuase they're high beams so I dont really think it matters (from a moral stand point) if they are blinding and point up too hight (compared to standard beams). I know they'll still be illigal but I wont feel bad and they wont be blinding eveybody. Plus it makes my country driving that little bit more safe.

Sounds pretty cool if you ask me. SUre it's a commodore, but it'll still be an awesome project. Just throwing this out there though; why not start with a Legnum base and put a RB26DETT in there?

Enkei Lightweight Racing Rims
Levi_ replied to FAT_3L's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
They look like the Enkei RP01/RP02's. I have a white set on my car. They're probably similar sized to mine which are: 17x8JJ38 (Front) and 17x9JJ38 (Rear). Great set of rims, very light. My fronts weighed 19kg with 235's and 20kg with 245's on the rear. Don't see them go up for sale often, but the last set I saw went for $1,300. -
Increased boost isn't the only thing to factor into the equation when it comes to blown turbos. It's possible that it wasn't being cooled/lubricated appropriately. And the rev limiter is there as a fail safe, not a goal.

A few kits I've seen actually use a small tank of gas or something. Have to say a race spec'd car popping flames is a beautiful sight, but a kit with a switch is right up there with the lamest of the lames.

We had some club says down there just recently, and there's some talk of doing another possibly February, or maybe middle of next year when it's cooler (you'll thank them for that idea, i promise). Basically we did a set of mapped out cone courses which help teach braking and cornering, while having a crap-load of fun. First few laps we had instructors with some of us to help give us some pointers and then we could choose to do it ourselves or keep getting some more (very good) advice from the instructors. Make sure you get a big group together first, it can be pretty costly if you're booking in smaller numbers.

I've had a few dicks overtake me at 160km/h+ down the emergency lane! :| And I had some random old guy freak out on me in a parking lot, it was a one way road type thing, i went the right way, he went the wrong. He pulls up in front of me, looses his mind and points at the arrow... realizing it's pointing towards his car, he shuts up and roars down the side of my car. Kinda funny and kinda scary in a "why the hell is he allowed to drive" kind of way.

I'm thinking it's a SAUWA/Skylines only cruise. So if they meet either of those criteria, they're probably welcome.

I'll bring my camera and flash along, should make for some reasonable shots at the meet points.

So, if I were to loose my license, under 'normal' circumstances you only get a 3 month suspension?
