  1. Some pop up on eBay, with express shipping you could manage to have it in before the end of the week.
  2. I'll send you a PM soon.
  3. Only had one. In my Mum's Mazda 6. Pouring with rain doing 80 down Marmion Ave at like 1am while having not been on my P's very long (definitely in need of more experience). Ended up aquaplaning and then over-correcting which led to me doing 360's down the road until a went into a kerb and a small street sign sideways. Wasn't going too fast by this stage, but the front quarter panel had a nice dent in it and I took a decent chunk out of the rear alloy rim. Fortunately insurance company said I could keep my no-claim-bonus and everything because there were 'outstanding weather conditions' and no other cars were involved. Sorry I don't have any pics, but there wasn't much to see.
  4. Had a bad one recently, first time being properly pulled over in the Skyline (had it for a bit over a year now -- only had RBT's on roadblocks so far) and I was heading West on Whitfords Ave. to Wanneroo. A truck flash his lights at me near Woodvale (or is it kingsley?) shopping centre, as soon as I saw this I knew where the cops would be, at the bottom of the hill, near the tree at the end of Whitfords Ave. So I did 60-65 (70 zone) behind a bus the whole way, while plenty of people were cruising past. As expected, get to the top of the hill and I can see the cops down there with handhelds at the bottom. So I continue doing 60-65 behind the bus. Just as we're getting up to where the cops are I change into the right hand lane because I didn't want to get stuck behind the bus on Wanneroo Rd. So I calmly and slowly change lanes knowing that the cops will probably be watching, and then out of nowhere, cop comes out onto the road and flags me down. I'm like WTF!? So I figured they just wanted to have a bit of a chat about the car or something, give me a little scare. Who knows? I wait there in my car for a minute, then one of the cops come up to my window and asks "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I say, "No". He then shows me the back of the radar where there is a "92Km/h" on the LCD. I'm just like WTF? I said, that can't be my speed, I was behind the bus doing 60-65. I told him that I saw a truck flash his lights and that I knew where they were going to be and everything. I didn't get angry or rude, I just kept trying to tell him that it couldn't have been my speed. He went through the "I can show you how the radar works etc." and I said I didn't need to know how it works because I know how they work and the speed it says is in no way related to the speed that I was doing in my car. In the end, he basically said, "I think you were speeding, this says you were speeding." and I said "Then I guess I'll have to contest the fine then, because there is just no way I could have been going that fast" and he said that I could do that but it would just be my word against his in the court and I know how that would end up. So I had had little choice but to accept the fine and go to work. He put it down as 89 in a 70 zone which I suppose is better than nothing. He wasn't rude or anything, but at the same time I just can't believe I got pulled over and fined for doing at least 25Km/h more than I was. I've had my speedo checked since, which is only 0.5Km/h out, so I guess he just pulled over the wrong car. *shrug* Either way that's the last time I got pulled over and it's left me with only a few points left until January next year (I lost a bunch in my old civic, mostly to accidental speeding on the Tuesday after a public holiday weekend - flashed and lost 6 points in one go).
  5. I had a B16A2 (1.6L VTEC) in my 94 EG Civic. And it's an awesome little car with an awesome little engine. But VTEC is nothing to get excited over, especially on a small engine. THe more agressive valve timings don't do much when your only running a 1.6 or 1.8. So, I gave my Civic to my girlfriend and bought my R33, which also has variable valve timing but with a turbo! VTEC never made me spin the wheels when it came on. Turbos are a different matter. I'm a designer and at work I run Vista on a Mac Pro, because OSX is too slow, buggy and in no way has any benefits over Windows for design. Please, tell me one way a Mac will help me get more done, or make me a better designer!
  6. kW x ~1.33 = hp is much closer, and back is 0.75
  7. His band shots look great, but he's definitely got a long way to go with the car stuff.
  8. Based on appearance: GTR: R34, R33, R32, R35. GTST: R33, R34, R32, V35/36. Which one would I have (all round things in consideration): R34 GTR, R33 GTR, R35 GTR...
  9. A better option than the Sigma 17-70 f/2.8 is the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, if you're willing to sacrifice the extra reach at the long end, the Tamron is hugely sharper. If you're looking for a good lens for cheap, buy the Canon 50mm f/1.8, being a prime it's a lot sharper than the kit 18-55 (I mean a lot sharper) and you can pick one up for about $100-$150 new. It's probably one of the best lenses you can get for your money. The 70-200 L series lens in all flavors is brilliant, if you need a good zoom, buy one of these (just pick the one that fits your budget). 10. Thanks for coming over and saying hello, otherwise I would have gone the whole day without uttering a word.
  11. Ok my friend has uploaded his photos, so be sure to check them out; http://www.esemte.com/zenphoto/cruise-sauwa-silvia-sep-08/
  12. My 'navigator' (aka other guy walking around with a camera) got a fair few more pics than me, and I'm pretty sure he got some nice out-the-window shots too, so once he's gone throught hem I'll get him to post them up.
  13. By the way if anybody wants a better edited, higher quality version of one of the photos, let me know.
  14. Yeah I was thinking there were at least 50+ cars at the beginning, though lots of them weren't coming on the cruise.
  15. Pretty sure it was blue and undercover, didn't notice any chevvy badges though.
  16. I asked politely why he was taking our licenses down, said somebody came through too fast so they found it just to take down everybody's name and license details. Which I have to say is a bit stupid, I'm pretty sure the speed of one car has no relation to any other car on the road just because they have the same stickers on the window. :S Got a bunch of photo's I'll have to upload tomorrow. But it was an awesome cruise, with a damn good turn-out for a wet day. Oh and GO ME for being the first photo in the thread! EDIT: Oh I almost forgot, with the cop car. He seemed nice and everything was fine, but just before he said I could go he was like "Do you have anything in the car I should know about? *pokes head right inside my window* Like any drugs, alcohol or firearms!?" - "No" - "Are you sure!?" - "Yes" - "Ok, you can go." --- What the feck? Seriously, where did that come from?
  17. I'm in regardless.
  18. As said above, you should be able to pass with a pod as long as it's well mounted and not flopping all over the place. I passed with mine when I bought my R33 over from the eastern states.
  19. If you want a hand to finish it, drop me a PM or email, I can probably do it tonight or tomorrow night.
  20. My R33 still had the flare in it when I got it. Set it off at a party one night, it's just a little red burning flare, it doesn't shoot or anything like that. Suppose it would be handy if you broke down somewhere dark/dangerous or if there had been an accident.

The U turn thing is hardly worth mentioning. Seriously, I think cops are ok to make a U-Turn wherever the hell they like. I'm not saying I don't agree with you about the bullcrap in the media, but if you're going to have a winge about cops, find something a bit more substantial than an illegal u turn.
  22. On my S2 R33 they hit the piping, I just hacked away at the back of them until it all managed to fit. I suggest the same applies for you.
  23. Well yes and no. I'm pretty sure it's only a 4 speed auto box in the R33. It may possibly have some sort of overdrive or something, in which case that could be mistaken for some sort of 5th gear. Searched the net, it always comes up with: "The RB25 turbo comes with either a 4-speed auto or a 5-speed manual". So if it is some sort of overdrive, then I'd expect to only come on at high speeds (~100km/h) and only once the car was warmed. I wouldn't think any more of it, either way you don't have a 5th gear so there is nothing wrong with your gearbox. Plus, anything under ~3000rpm at ~100km/h is fine. My manual R33 sits at ~2700rpm in 5th on the freeway.
