Easter Saturday I am running a track day where electronic timing will be provided, if anyone is interested in that I will be posting the details in the coming weeks.
  4. Wakefield licences are actually AASA Licences, they have the logo in the top right corner.
  5. Hi mate, The cost is $110, and you need to have either a CAMS or AASA licence. Cheers Adam
  6. Wakefield Park has re-opened after undergoing major works in the resurfacing of the circuit. This now gives Wakefield the satisfaction of having the freshest racing surface in the country. The initial feedback from competitors is that the new surface is smoother and faster than the previous one. Wakefield Park will be open for Speed of the Streets on the following days: Tuesday 5th Feb Thursday 7th Feb Monday 11th Feb Thursday 14th Feb Monday 18th Feb Tuesday 19th Feb Thursday 21st Feb Friday 22nd Feb (BIKES ONLY) Monday 25th Feb Thursday 28th Feb Cheers Adam
  7. The next Winton Fun Day is scheduled for Sunday January 27th 2008. The Fun Day is a "come and try" day and is designed to allow the average motorist access to a real race track under controlled conditions. Cost: Is $30 per driver and $30 per passenger Programme: GATES OPEN 8am Scrutineering, not long after that Drivers Briefing at around 9.00 - 9.30 Requirements: Bring your car, an Australian Standard Approved helmet, the helmet can be either open or closed face, fire proof clothes that cover you from neck to ankle to wrist (cotton or wool clothes are good). Runners are not the preferred footwear, Blundstones boots (or similar) or any leather type shoe is preferable Make sure your car has no oil/coolant leaks, fitted seat belts, battery is secure, wheels nuts are tights, no loose items in the car or boot. The Car does not have to be registered, but has to road/race worthy. Tyres need to be in good nick, tread depth is not normally a problem unless wire is poking out. There are normally no checks done of lights except for brake lights except if it is an overcast, rainy day, then there may be checks for lights as well as wipers. Tow bar tongues and bull bars must be removed. You do not need to have a race licence, club licence or indeed a car licence abut you must be over 16 to drive or be a passenger. And very importantly, bring a smart, alert attitude, because there is some very fast cars out there, whilst it is not a race meeting, some people bring race cars and we push them hard to behave appropriately around first timers. Food and drinks are available through a canteen Should be a great day, see you there....
  8. A V8 Supercar only registers 86 db
  9. I will need numbers as close to a week out as possible so that I can organise groups and schedules. Noise limit at Winton is 94 dBa at 30 metres and all cars must have an effective muffler. Cheers Adam
  10. The noise restrictions are measured at 30 metres at a registered point and must be under 95db The Fun Day is designed for those who have road cars that have never been on the track before to go out and see if they like it without spending big bucks and buying a licence. We have special permission to run the day without licences but that means that cars must only travel at 80% of their capabilities. Anyone wanting to go fast and get timed, there are 4 Tampered Motorsport Track Days next year, and 5 Round of the Winton Sprint Series which you can go too and have your car timed electronically. The Fun Day is the very very entry level into motorsport. Cheers Adam

  21. Hi all, I am glad you all had fun. We made the session 20 minutes to try and give everyone plenty of track time, too much by the sound of it! lol I am considering the next one maybe have in 15 minute sessions instead of 20 minutes. Which for someone around the 1:45 is about 7-8 laps. We got a few extra sessions in because there was not many break downs on the circuit, 2 tows for the day. I will let you all know when the next on is on!! Cheers Adam
  22. I have 4 spots to fill. I am 99% sure I will have an email out to everyone this afternoon.

  24. Not essential but recommended!
