  3. had a camry airborne a few times, and a brand new commodore with 2000k's on the clock in the NT, gave it good thrashing (good old auto dumping back 2 gears at 180km/h) and due to the roadworks and sideways action along the way, from the windows down was red mud, couldnt even see the paint, and when we dropped it off at the airport the guy just laughed - best rental car fun i've had.
  4. Only problem with weapons in your car is if a carload of guys stop you, they will eventually get the weapon off you and probably use it on you.
  5. Theres some dodgy pricks around now, yesterday morning around 9 i could hear some noises coming from downstairs, and being only person home i went to check it out. The back door was part open (he busted it open) and there were some bolt cutters reaching through trying to cut the door chain. I shoulda taken a moment to think (coulda made sure i got him) but... being so pissed off i ripped the door open, snapping the chain and the guy shit himself and ran, chased him for like 300m, in that time he ran into a block of units yelling out someone's name trying to get them to help him LOL couldn't catch him though. Damn people can run fast when they r scared. The whole SE Qld area is turning to shit now, so many wankers around.
  6. yeah i did, but, being so low and 255's checking from the side where i did they looked fine cos the outside 3/4 was good but it was the inside that was scrubbed out and to see that you either need to stick your head right under or look from the back. Theres always something you dont notice.
  7. the strange thing is my car never used to shock me, i mean i never got 1 shock from it........until i read this damn thread, no lies the very next day it started booting me when i get out but its ok with me as i work in a high static environment and i'm used to it.
  8. Sounds a lot like the place i got mine from. It was actually sold to me with 2 BALD tires, i mean steel was starting to stick out, not to mention other defects which through tons of BS i made them fix. Lots more to my story but yeah, better checking around a lot to find a reputable dealer if you want to buy a car from one.

  10. I need to disconnect the battery and i was wondering, would this wipe the settings from my s-afc II ? If not, how does it save its configuration.

  12. Looking at interior wear is the key, mine had 77000kms (pretty sure its genuine or at least very close) when i bought it and the interior is near perfect. Sure the handbrake boot is a bit buggered but the car shows other signs of sun damage form sitting in the sun too long, not from long km's like the rear window rubber has shrunk a bit etc. You need to know what to look for the km's it says is pretty irrelevant when buying a jap import
  13. how can ultimate clean the fuel filter? the only place the dirt and stuff can go is through the engine?
  14. like i said above, it idles smoothly and the noise IS coming from the turbo i know i stuck my head near it. And the boost guage is bouncing around rapidly below 0 and never above.
  15. umm no i'm not starting it or driving it anywhere, cos if its the compressor wheel? then it will smash and go through my engine, if it already hasn't. If a car is making a noise like this then the last thing you do is take it for a thrash. I'm 100% sure its something in the turbo its so obvious i don't need to be a mechanic to figure that out. I'm working on getting a package for a 500hp turbo, FMIC, fuel pump and Clutch and possibly powerfc so i can tune it to a safe level for the injectors/engine internals. In future if i get spare cash then i'll be able to do injectors and forged pistons/rods etc and take the turbo to what it's capable of. Is there anything i missed that i might need for reliability in my first stage of upgrades?
  16. I rang a mechanic up and asked him about it, he said it sounds like the exhaust wheel has come off and is rattling around. He said it was possible that something happened while it was cooling down in my garage the night before and stuffed up when it got running that day. I don't know too muh about internals of a turbo so i'll just take his word for it as i can't get the car anywhere to get checked out. I want a bigger turbo anyway so now's as good a time as any to get one. Hmm anyone know all the HP limits for my stock engine? the injectors (with good fuel pump), gearbox, how much boost before its dangerous to internals etc.
  17. well, for the short time i had my car running mainly it was idleing it wasnt any louder, but i can hear something rattling around inside the turbo, i just hope no chunks have gone through the engine
  18. yes it runs anmd apart from the sound its fine, and yes the sound is coming from the turbo.
  19. Well, the turbo on my 33 died today, warmed it up got 20m down the road barely changed to second gear and bam knock knock knock . Didnt even hit boost (i dont hit boost until its at full operating tremperature) Guess i'll be without a car for a few weeks as i can't afford another turbo right now. It was only on 10psi too, so really, there is no safe limit, it's touch and go 82000 kms on the odo. Does anyone have ANY spare turbo for sale that would bolt on?
  20. As a victim of car theft i hope whoever did that to your car gets what they deserve, i can't stand wankers who cant get their own good cars so they steal or damage everyone elses. I'm sure theres ton's of people here that would join your lynchmob if the need rises. Me included. I've always wanted to break someones hand for stealing/damaging my car or a friends car, that way they'd be reminded every time they go to touch someone elses stuff

  22. hmm nearing the end of my tankful of optimax it seems to have a fair bit more power now, like it gave it a good clean out or something. Driving slowly in first, if i plant it, it bags it up quite easily, it was never like that running on Ultimate.
  23. Well i have been comparing both in the last few weeks. With optimax, it feels like it pulls a bit harder when accelerating, but i only get around 300km's from a full tank of it. With ultimate i usually get around 400km's sometimes more per tank. I really don't care what anyone says about "they heard certain servos just use premium fuel and put additives in it" because its most likely BS and all servos probably add stuff to their fuel anyway, which is not always a bad thing though.
  24. chances are when they wear in they will stretch a bit and you will have to get them re adjusted.
  25. when i did mine the belts were $28,$26,$20 and labour was $65, havent done timing belt yet.
