  1. if they are cracked or sqealing, then yeah, but squealing can also mean needs re tentioning
  2. Them telling me that it was getting too hot was their excuse for not being able to tune out some misfiring at around 4-5000rpm, saying that it was the intercooler's fault. I'll be getting my plugs/coils checked soon as i think these might be the problem. And yeah, i did get the impression that they just wanted to try to sell me a FMIC. Doubt i'll be going back there again. Hmm I probably could get some sort of a fin put in to deflect some air up the top half, a cold air partition and with a R34 IC things should be alright. Thx for your ideas
  3. If you want chirps, Flatchange , but it is hard on your car.
  4. After all of this "anti-hoon" stuff and all that happened at the BWCP, it would be good to find out exactly what is legal and what isn't as i've heard a lot of confusion about what we can and can't be defected for mods wise. Preferably people who have been defected for stuff can clear things up on most of the basic mods like pods/unifilters, EBC, FMIC, BOV's etc, because a lot of people think they know what is defectable but they are really just repeating what someone else who doesnt know said.
  5. I was there around 10 and saw it blocked off with people stuck inside. The paper said one guy got done for "illegal air filter" umm are pods & unifilters illegal? What about BOVs?. They went way over the top.
  6. whatever is sliding around in my car is IN the door, CBF taking it apart to see what it is
  7. yeah its in and tuned my result is in another thread that i posted recently
  8. When i got mine through takakaira, it cost something like around 43000 yen all up covering customs and everything. They write the price on the package as much lower (4200) so that the cost of getting through customs is cheaper. Greenline is cheaper but i dont know if they do the dodgy to clear customs for less. I dont know about warranty maybe one of the things in the box written in jap is the warranty card? hehe
  9. about 5 days
  10. heh i have something sliding around somewhere in my drivers door, mainly when i take off hard or brake a bit harder it slides forwards and back. might have to check it out
  11. http://www.greenline.jp/catalogue.php
  12. I got mine this week from takakaira and it cost me 550 delivered to my door. Greenline has them even cheaper.
  13. yeah how crap, it looked like they were inspecting the few cars as they were leaving it too. i dont think i've ever seen that many cops in one night. no wonder it takes them 3 hours to come round when you get robbed or something. They also had a small roadblock at the big BP or whatever it is (northbound side) near dreamworld. Only saw one cop car down mudgeerabah way though.
  14. i'll be going down the coast a little later than that around 10ish
  15. Well i got it fitted and tuned today, was 210hp (12psi) before and 231hp (10psi) after. So its on 2psi less boost now and they had to adjust the timing back a bit due to the stock intercooler being pretty well shagged and also not getting much airflow because of the different front bar thats on it. So next stop, FMIC so it can be retuned to its full potential. 20hp gain on less boost&timing sounds alright for now. On the seat of the pants meter i dont think it feels as good as it did before, but i can't be too sure. Doesnt feel like it pulls as hard as it used to.
  16. Here's mine, looks bad due to real bad photo quality.
  17. my problem is that im impatient , i can get it done tomorrow, or i can wait till late next week for another place and possibly save 50-100 on it. hmm
  18. $250 to fit AND tune it?, hmm anyone know any other places around gold coast - south bris that are good with fitting and tuning safc's?
  19. I am getting an apexi s-afc II fitted (to my 33 gtst) and tuned on a dyno and i was wondering roughly what price would you guys expect to pay for the installation and the tuning since i already have the unit. I was quoted at around 250 for the install and another 200-250 for the tuning. Does that sound about right? 250 for the install sounds a bit high..... but then, i have no idea what is involved in fitting one
  20. Umm, if you aren't sure on how to do it yourself just pay someone who knows what they are doing to do it. Is it really worth the risk of stuffing something just so you can say that you did it yourself?
  21. I bought my hybrid boost controller for 325 delivered, and basically it does the same thing as a 2 stage turbosmart bleed setup except for the extra $30 it is processor controlled so it doesnt spike. I don't have any problem with the slight boost guage movement (don't feel it) Its worth getting if you don't have the extra $ for a better brand name one, i'd never install some spikey POS bleed setup in my car. The in cabin controller fits well when stuck to your ashtray flip door thingy. Overall if you are thinking of getting a 2 stage bleed setup, just spend the few extra $ and get the hybrid EBC.
  22. heh my drivers side window has a scratch on it, i was quoted $600 for a genuine one, $400 for aftermarket and about $200 if i got one from the wreckers. (none of those prices included fitting) ..........they are only about $10 worth of glass bottom line, be very careful with your windows
  23. Heres a link that might help you get exactly the sort of properties in a tyre that you are after. I never noticed all this stuff on my tires till i saw this site and checked http://www.car-videos.com/info/tirespecs.asp
  24. just curious though, do you work for your dad's company?
  25. Ok what am i missing here, in your first post you said you earn roughly 1500 net a month, thats under 400 a week. at that rate theres stuffall chance of saving "near 30k" by the time you are 19, unless you dont go out and do nothing. (hence my comment, at that rate you couldnt really have done it by yourself) But, in your reply you say that you earn 750 after tax each week (3000 a month BIG difference from what you originally said) I'm not here to argue but your story seems to have totally changed from what you first said. Lastly, some ppl are just too damn serious, note the smiley face i put in, means i wasnt 100% serious about it. P.S And yes i would rate your parents paying 200k+ towards an apartment for you as being spoilt, but thats my opinion.
