  1. lol and i thought i was the only person with the stupid aircon noise on starting the car. Mine also makes that noise occasionally when i have it turned on and set to windscreen demist.
  2. All i can say is...... Spoiled little rich kid
  3. I doubt it is an overboost cut, my 33gtst is set to .85bar for high setting and it stays there until about 6000rpm then it backs off a bit (stock turbo probably running out of puff,or cos of shitty stock cooler) i dont think he'd have any trouble with 10psi.
  4. its worth a try just to see how it goes, but if its a large group then people are more likely to want to follow so the smaller the better. besides, it doesnt look like too many people here are interested so i don't think there would be much of a tag along problem. i dont like the idea of a cb arial hanging off my '33
  5. i'll be the hero nismogirl /jk Seriously though if its kept fairly small and everyone meets in an uncommon place (maybe even an underground carpark?, being out of sight would stop most ppl from finding out) then i doubt too many people would tag along. And as to where to go, that could be decided at the meeting place?
  6. if a group of us meets up and drives off before all the other wankers come then it doesnt really matter where we drive to though? I think the main problem is all the people that follow when you leave the meeting place. Really though theres tons of places to go driving that don't have to be near surfers
  7. sounds like a good spot
  8. I'd be interested to come along too some friday nights so long as the meeting time is around 7:30-8
  9. Well my stock one isnt in the best shape, and if it is a straight swap no piping needing modification then i might as well get a gtt one. Any ideas where i could get one?
  10. Someone here posted that it is basically the same and uses the same piping but it's just thicker. If thats true then it would be a reasonable upgrade for someone like me who is only planning on running about 12psi max with the basic sort of mods to get around 200rwkw. So for the couple hundred? or so it is much cheaper than a fmic as i wont be running a bigger turbo so i wont need one. So it would provide that bit extra cooling without going overboard on a fmic. If someone could confirm that its a straight swap that would be great, also does anyone have a rough price for a second hand one?
  11. whats a r34 gtt ic worth?
  12. Am i the only person who thinks they look stupid? I mean, you either want a sports car or a family car, anything half half will be lesser of both halfs if you know what i mean. But, whatever floats your boat i spose
  13. Think about it people, how many of you have turbo timers? And if you don't then im sure you sit and let it idle to cool down for a few mins depending on how hard you've been driving it right? Then why exactly would it be in gear when you go to use your remote starter? Personally i don't have a starter, and really dont have any need for one.
  14. Im too lazydodgy to make my own partition, i'd rather just pay100 or so and buy a professionally made one that is out of proper heat resistant materials etc and doesnt leave gaps. I'd prefer to pay a bit to get the best performance gain than make my own that wont perform as well. Anyone have any links to one?
  15. This is an idea, probably gonna sound dumb but here goes. Everyone should have noticed by now say late at night on a cold night your car goes so much better due to the cold (more dense)air that is being sucked in and used right? What if you made a partition to block off excess heat from the engine/turbo etc blah blah. And just in front of or beside your pod put like an ice box that you can put ice in, so the air flows in cools down a bit due to the ice (condenses) and then gets used. This would also lower the temperature of your whole cold air partition by a few degrees too. You'd have to place it so that it doesnt interfere with air flow but lowers the cold partition's temperature. On any average cruising night ice would last for an hour or 2 maybe. Might sound dumb but dumb ideas can be improved to something useful. Or even reroute an AC vent to blow climate controlled 20degree air into your cold partition But i dunno if the power gained would outweigh the power lost due to having the aircon on.
  16. A partition type sounds pretty good, (to block the heat coming from the engine/turbo) but i don't see why some people are making closed boxes with a opening going down near the front bar area. Isnt the idea of a pod filter to be able to suck air from 360 degrees around it rather than through say a 3inch pipe? Also in rain isnt water going to be flying up into your custom pipe being so low to the ground. One more thing, who says the air down low is colder, have you tried walking bare feet on the road on a warm summer day? It gets farken hot and that makes the first few inches or so of air near there pretty warm too. Im not here to knock your ideas but there seems to be a few faults in the common beliefs. I am mainly researching so far so i can make up my own partition set up, as i have a unifilter trumpet style intake which is pretty damn big. Pick away at my thoughts here as i'm open to everyones theories.
  17. I have a manual 93 gts25t and so far ive done the basic stuff like good exhaust, air filter, EBC high boost set to .8bar, BOV (yes i noticed a difference boost kicks in faster on gearchanges) Good tein adjustable suspension. It has 17" 255's all round. If i go too hard on it and get wheelspin its just too much for the clutch and it slips and i get that burning clutch smell heh. So, i need a better clutch, keeping in mind that i wont be going for bigger turbo and all that stuff, i'll just be doing a few more minor mods so i wont be expecting any more than about 200rwkw by the time i'm finished. Firstly what type of clutch would you guys recommend as something that can handle lotsa abuse with around that power output. If you could include rough prices or links that would be really helpful. And while i'm at it i might as well put in a light flywheel so any prices etc on that would be great too.
