mine used to cut out at about 195 (reading from the stock speedo) on the standard ecu. but the 8500rpm thing is very strange indeed :s. i have no ideas there. -rb25

its been discussed before, so lets try to clear it up. can rb26 cams work in an rb25? what would need to be done? i think they would, it is just a matter of using the rb26 cam gears, solid lifters and disabling the vvt solenoid. would using gt-r cams help make significantly more power down low because you've eliminating the vvt (and the design of the gt-r cams themselves obviously)? would this setup also work with a powerfc and give a better tune without the vvt? how would you set the cam gears. retard 4 on ex. and adv. 2 on in? also, if using solid lifters does this allow a higher redline, say 7500 - 8000rpm. alot more oil may also be held in the head using solid lifters i am told aswell, is this true? what do you guys think? -rb25

ok, too much crap laying about in the garage and had a clean up today. found some things i don't need/want anymore. all for r33. 1. Standard airbox, comes with stand and feed. no bolts, sorry. (see boltfast) $75 2. Standard airbox without feed. $50 3. Standard double-din radio/cassette head unit. sold 4. Standard R33 GTS-T intercooler, complete with mounting brackets, bolts and hoseclamps. $90 5. R33 S1 right hand headlight, lense in poor condition, rear in good condition. works fine. had a quote to replace the lense and refurbish the whole thing at $180. so $50 for a good rear assembly i guess. 6. Standard boost solenoid. $10 7. Standard ex. cam gear. $20 8. Autometer 2-5/8" boost gauge complete with mounting brackets and hose. $80 9. Autometer 2-5/8" gauge cups x 3, complete with mounts. $50 the lot 10. Dodgy pod filter. junk item really. sold 11. Brand new EBC black rear brake pads, part no DP826 R33 GTS-T (i have these on my r33) sold If the price doesn't appeal to you i am of course open to offers. hey guys i know what your going to say 'search is your friend'. but i have read them and think i still need some help before blowing good money on aftermaket coil-packs i didnt need. after installing a powerfc and upping the boost, the car has developed a misfire in two places. the first only happens about half of the time, when coming on boost at wot and low rpm, say 2900. and the second happens all of the time, at 5000rpm+ on full load. the tuner tried to get around it but thinks its the coil packs and couldn't really do much about it. mods include: bkr7evx platinum plugs, hks fmic, cam gear at 3.5deg., powerfc, evc5 at 0.9bar, 3" full exhaust, shielded pod. te rest is stock turbo, inj, internals, manifolds etc... i'm thinking one of the following: collapsing pipe between tubo and afm fatigued coil packs (highly likely) air leak (unlikely - all new hoses and clamps etc.) afm (dirty - i will ask the tuner if the voltage was ok, im sure he would have checked tho, if it was bad this would also eliminate the collapsing pipe) plugs (fouled - i did the plugs myself at home, drove the car 20km to the dyno, not sure if they would foul up in this time) any input appreciated. -rb25

just getting back to the inlet manifold gasket: i have seen these get 'sucked' in twice on rb26's around cylinder 5 & 6. might be a common problem. -rb25
