Hey all,
Nova 100 (melbourne radio station) is having a competition where they have bought a 1981 Valliant Regal and the are doing it up like a pimp mobil and then giving it away in a competition.
I thought a few of you guys are really good at computer art and you might want to give it a go to pimp it up.

but at the end of the day a VL is only a 19-20 year old taxi. I think everyone in this forum will agree that a 12 second skyline is a more pleasurable car to own/drive than a 9 second VL..
In saying that I still think VL's are the best commodore that has ever come about

I would get a high pressure airline and pull all of your electrical connectors apart and blast all the moisture out then spray with WD40 or similar product. Pull the coil packs out and do the same to them. dry your fully sick pod filter and put that back on.... You cant have done much in the way of damage. If the car sounds like it is missing its most likely because there is water in the coil packs and its shorting out... Just be carefull next time you wash...
P.S unless you had the hose on the air filter the engine wouldnt suck in enough water to hydrolic lock the engine so dont worry about that dude.
dry her out and then take it for a good run to get everything hot and the remaining water will evaporate and you be sucking the doors of HSV's and WRX's before you know it..

Greetings all.
Im getting my front bar resprayed because it looked shit house. I need to get the paint code from my car. Where do I find it? can anyone give me an example of a paint code so i know what im looking at!

nah no way dude. I occasionaly get get 2 on start up... When the engine is cold i get read outs of up to 15( i drive slow when im warming up... ie. shift <3000rpm)
on hard open throttle on a cold night i get about 15-25 knock which is good... You arent too far off the mark in regards to wide open throttle but if you are getting 10-15 when starting you might want to get things checked out. Bear in mind knock sensors pick up mechanical noise aswell so it may be even the starter motor.
Take it to Benny at Race pace. i think many people will agree that BENNY IS THE KING OFF SKYLINE

Is there any place around the dandenong area that you can recommend to get some fibreglass repairs done.. The lower lip on my front bar is fairly damaged and I would like to get it repaired properly before I get it resprayed.

just got it back from race pace..... 247rwkw... had way to much ignition timing in the middle and not enough fuel... BEN IS THE KING... 2 hours on the dyno and $300 later and i think he is worth every bit of it.

hahaha denton... Im selling it because I have ordered a new XR8 ute. I love the skyline but I need something I can carry my motocross bike in the back of. Thats the main reason im selling it.... But yeah shes way fast.
Yeah that was my car at VW last week parked at the front of our driveway...

One other problem I have noticed with my car just last night is there is a strange knocking noise in the top end of the engine when it is half warm (eg 45-60degrees water temp) and at operating temp the noise goes away... Strange, Its due for an oil change in 500klms. Also peak hour traffic started again this morning and first and second gear felt really strange to me, felt like it was holding the gear when i went to change out of it...Strange

Im currently in the process of selling my beast. Just wondering if anyone knows any good roadworthy places to get a roadworthy certificate. I have been told alot of places will pick on little shit because its an import and alot of places say your car needs alot to get a RWC so they can get more money out of you to fix it. Im not meaning i wont a dodgey RWC because my car should pass it (it only had a RWC 3 months back). I just dont want some tool telling me he cant give me an RWC because I have too many mods on my car.
I live in Endeavour Hills (south east suburbs) and I work in Camberwell so somewhere close would be preferable.
Even if there is a mechanic from SAU forums that can help me out ill much prefere to give the business to a skyliner :headspin:

just spend that 2.5k on a manual... then u have no hassles.... Auto vs manual may only be about 1000-2000k difference when u buy the car..the beauty is that you get the manual and u get money to hot it up

ROY BOY.... Theres another speed shop in Oakleigh GMP racing which i used to get alot of race gear from for the Formula 3.... they have a bit more in the way of car products as opposed to racing apparel from Revolution Racegear....... hey also good news on that note, Im dragging the Formula 3 out of the factory to compete in the Australian Grand-Prix at albert park... Formula 3 is one of the support catagorys... Im not driving my new car however because im hopefully leasing that to another driver for that event and I am far to unfit and slow at the moment to race it to its full potential... Thats what 7-8 months off the track does to you.
LA Designs used to do custom paint jobs on my helmets... I have had about 4-5 helmets done by them. really high quality stuff.... Approx prices vary from what you want... allow somewhere around $1000 for a fairly good design

Didnt see you dude but I went to knox tonite with a friend of mine and guess who was out and had a 180SX pulled up with the bonnet open???.... Our good friend from the knox police station Officer Pettet in his shiney silver XR8... Too bad for him I was in my dads Lexus SC430 so i made off without him noticing!
