  1. anyone have pics of actual seats they recieved? would love to see the quality and hear first hand impressions...
  2. The above are good ideas, but i don't know anyone overseas to leave the car with. And its not just about a moded gtr on the autobahn and ring, its about MY moded gtr... But i do appreciate the suggestions.
  3. As above, fuel has a fairly high spontaneous combustion point(with source of ignition), and the heat of the turbo just isn't hot enough on the inlet side. The fuel actually helps to cool the inlet down by using the heat in the air to vaporise, in a way similar to water injection.
  4. I would be going to.Germany only on this particular trip. Had a quick look at one of the websites mentioned previously, and it looks like, depending which part of Germany I go to, would be ok with an Australian license. It would only be a 3-4 week holiday, so I don't think I'm going to over stay. In regards to earlier mentioned triangle and vests, it is also compolsery to carry a first aid kit in the boot. If I start saving now, I might be able to afford it by the time the Australian tectonic plate meets up with the one Germany sits on, then I can drive there. Thanks everyone for your input and knowledge, keep it coming, the more the better.
  5. ^ Love the double post But certainly more info, sounding better than I thought. Might give the nrma a call, and chat with them.
  6. What are you using now?
  7. Similar set up to older superchargers on v8s But now you use a turbo as the compressor. The fuel also helps cool the turbo, and at those levels, shouldn't really need an intercooler.
  8. RAW.... get it?
  9. why? oh no i di-nt, oh yes i did...
  10. thanks mate. yeah, i like my phone because the cameras not THAT bad, after all, it is a phone with a camera, not a camera with a phone. my bdays coming up, looking at getting my first decent camera, an EOS600D, dropping hints to the missus like crazy i think shes caught on, now i play the waiting game....
  11. good luck with the hunt. sure the end result will be worth the wait.
  12. some i took today with my phone(NOT i-phone) one in the morning, one in the afternoon
  13. maybe a thread dedicated to skyline wedding cars? this was mine.... could have joined you, but you already had a 32...
  14. i get what youre saying, but to compare apples with apples, id have to be able to hire my car from someone over there. not going to happen. i think the lambo was suggested from his personal experience, and it would have similar performance to my gtr when i complete it. an r32 golf, or evo, ....just NO comparison. the idea of importing to england, well maybe ill look and try and find the easiest country to import to. with regards to using my rego/plates, i wouldnt be adventuring outside germany on this particular trip. and i think proper paperwork from their own authority would be enough for most cops.... just not NSW ones , just kidding, or am i???
  15. thanks heaps ian. yeah, sort of confirmed my suspicions... at least now i know.
  16. 2000 euro/day x 7 days=AU$18627 hmmm, strating to think it might be not so bad to take my own car.... that could be the container there and back. plus possibly a new tune on the ecu.
  17. hi guys, reading through these threads has inspired me. quick question(probably a stupid one, dont ask=never find out), can you use lenses from old standard film slr's on dslr's? have a camera i got off my dad, shutter is now broken, and it has a couple of lenses with it. they have threaded sections on the end to replace mounting ring. eagerly awaiting your answers. thanks, luke.
  18. hmmm, not my car, but still good idea.roughly how much did it cost you last time, for flights/food/accomidation/car/fuel? dont know if it would apply to me, but i found on a german website that if there for less than 12 months, you can generally use your current rego and number plates. i would expect that you would still need to get their authorised stations to check the car out, and things like tyres and brake pads changed to complied parts. still doing research....
  19. ok, ill take one for the team and voluteer to help drive back. i once bought a car from adelaide due to price. flew down from sydney, train out to location suburb, test drive car, drive back. done this with my dad. 24hr round trip. awesome to drive all that way, get back, crash for a few hours, wake up and see your new pride and joy sitting in the driveway.... just give me some notice so i can out in for holidays at work either way you go, good luck finding a car.
  20. Congratulations on your new purchase. Hope you get many years of good motoring. Start saving now, and buy a gtr as a second car down the track...
  21. I always try to wave. Sometimes just don't see them in time.... And with the bikes, a lot don't give the nod, I do, its a you're interested in what I'm interested in thing. Most of the imports that don't wave back are generally people who arnt enthusiasts.
  22. Just saw this. Will be in for next group buy if prices are more or less the same. Want/need/gotta have gias 2...
  23. thers no speed limit if you dont get caught.... but seriously, maybe in his head?
