  1. I think this is a job best performed by a qualified auto electrician. You will only end up frying your ECU if you get it slightly wrong. Is there any reason you cant run a GTT loom now? Surely there must be a wreck somewhere you can get one from
  2. What fuel reg are you running?
  3. Why say "I got normal numbers"? wouldnt it make more sense to give actual voltage readings? not trying to be rude but perhaps they are not normal numbers. It sounds like the altenator is not able to keep up with high load, so above statement is possibly correct. More info needed
  4. My Link is road tuned. I know the Vipecs used to have a feature called mixture map, would log actual AFR vs Target AFR so you could get alot more tuning done every time you stopped to play with maps ( relied in wideband wired in) Like I said, I never had an issue with Power FC, did everything I needed and was simple etc. But when you start looking at some of the alternatives, you can see what you have been missing. Im not trying to sell you on the idea, just putting it out there
  5. They are really horrible. The Dayco one I bought is way better
  6. Get the pipe, mark where you want the fitting to be, take it to a fabricator/performance shop and get them to drill and weld it for you
  7. PM'ed
  8. Also. If you are interested, I have a near new GTR hub for sale. Should work but measure your old one and let me know if you are interested if you would like
  9. Buying a PowerFc Pro for too much because you wanted one seems a bit silly to me sorry. I had a Power FC for years and it was a good ECU. However, since switching to Link i can see how out of date Power FC's are If you are buying ECU's just because you want one, maybe buy a link and see if it is something you might enjoy tuning etc as they are a far better ECU
  10. For what its worth, I've had a Davies Craig fan hub, and it was the worst thing in the world. It may as well have been a solid fan hub, it NEVER went any speed besides flat out. The genuine fan hub on the car originally was by far the best. I have a Dayco fan hub now designed for an RB30 in an R31 Skyline. This is only because it doesnt have as long a shaft and I had some clearance issues with my new radiator and fan shroud. I would say it is just about on par with a genuine one. Probably due to it being for a different model, the temps its designed to work at might be a touch different, but for the most part it is perfectly fine. FYI genuine ones are about $300-$400 usually
  11. I believe Ferrari said they were going back to the old days and were going to get rid of all the white Or maybe that was black they were getting rid of....... pretty sure white I actually like the new sauber. I think it just needs a major sponsor. Sidepod looks a bit bare
  12. Have you tried unplugging coilpacks and injectors one at a time to see if there is a problem there? Yes I know you have done the coils and injectors but perhaps there is a wiring harness issue. Do you know what AFR's the car is running when it hits the issue? Base timing OK?
  13. Pull it off and check?
  14. Just go over it with some 1000 grit sandpaper. Use some crc or wd40 to lube the sand paper and give it a polish. The old key hasn't mushroomed the groove or anything and made a high spot?
  15. Its really not that hard to install and remove......
  16. You will probably find the new crank gear just slips on. When i rebuilt my engine, i had to heat and pull the old gear off but the new one just slipped on. This makes it easy. Put woodruff key in and slide gear on. As for the crank pulley. Its tapered AFAIK so you will get it over the key before it starts going tight. Should be ok to pull it in with the bolt (do not use rattle gun)
  17. I Did tell you about this in your other thread. Does your steering feel heavy when driving around parking lots? The plug on the rack is for the power assist solenoid. It controls how much assistance the power steering gives, Lots at low speed and not much/none at higher speeds The switch on the pressure line is for idle. When you steer it bumps up the idle, especially important when the air con and alternator are working
  18. The steering pressure switch just tells the ECU when the car is steering to compensate the idle. I believe it is more important if the AC is on or if you are on full lock stalling the pump so you may not see any negative effects from it being unplugged Also might be nothing as you said. I can look at the 33 diagram to see whats nearby but it may be different
  19. Update: Have put in a new M60 unit in the car and seems perfect so far (as you would expect) Unsure if I am going to do anything about the old unit. The new unit was straight plug in so I have all the new wiring etc so could effectively get it repaired and sell it Anyway. Not much of a solution to my problem but obviously was an internal problem with the board
  20. Power steering rack solenoid or pressure switch? IAC valve? Just going off the colour of the plug, and location, those two spring to mind (well thats what I would guess on R33, assume R34 is similar)
  21. Seriously............ I mentioned this in the first reply
  22. Have you checked the oil level? Silly question but have to ask Being that it is oil pressure you should probably treat it as worst case scenario. Does your oil pressure gauge drop or anything like that? The 2 are from the same source so if the oil pressure gauge is doing something odd, possibility is its the sensor or actually momentary oil pressure loss If it were me, I'd get a gauge to plug in and check the oil pressure, if its O.K then look at either the dash or oil pressure sender
  23. Does the black residue out the exhaust only happen when its cold? Mine does this, think its just moisture in the exhaust coming out, bringing soot from the exhaust with it, so black spots on the garage floor Speedo sensor goes from the gearbox to the dash then to the ECU, so either something is unplugged (there are some plugs at the gearbox then I think they run through a plug next to the relay box in the engine bay). If everything is plugged in, maybe pull the speedo gear out and have a look. Its been converted so maybe the previous owner missed something or did something a bit dodgy
