Is a height increase likely to be an issue? I never noticed much of a difference with mine. I think I even held them up back to back with stock and couldnt really see a difference. If they are harder there may be a little less 'squish' with the weight of the engine but nothing crazy I would imagine. The top of my engine is quite low because of the front facing plenum but if it helps:

Ok I need to clear something up for you here. The readout on the Power FC is showing you a timing output - that is what the ECU is putting out timing wise Adjusting it is to get the actual timing and the ECU timing (in simple terms) to match up. The reason you were probably getting a change in timing was because the engine was running differently and ECU was adjusting timing to suit. The above is correct in terms of which way is retard and advance however

If its speed dependant not rpm or engine load/boost dependant, i would say something is physically making the noise, like a panel gap or something hanging down/out Your post gives the impression it is only related to speed

Whhhyyyy not just use copper plugs and save yourself all that money?

What Grill fits R33 gtst S2? GTR grill? etc
89CAL replied to ausdrift's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Wont fit. Series 2 grille only AFAIK The headlights are different, I'm fairly sure gtr and series 1 are similar/same -
rb26 inlet valve stem discolouration/damage?
89CAL replied to shaund's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I suspect the flash/light may be making them look worse than they are? Obviously they are going to wear there as that's where they run in the guides, so I wouldnt be too concerned, but its hard to tell from that photo. You need to get a photo without a flash or a light that doesnt shine back so much -
R32 4th gear pop out
89CAL replied to Stixbnr32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I had mine do this once and it was just one of the rubber boots back to front or upside down. Bit of a silly one but it was pulling the stick just enough to pull it out of gear sometimes when there was no load on the box I worked this out by running the car with none of the gear surround/boots etc (except for the one that seals the box) on the car and it stopped doing it -

Its not real hard to pull out if you wanted to pull it all the way out and have a look at it

Rb30 25 neo cometic head gasket problem
89CAL replied to lcxu105's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
So are you saying you have loosened it all off and re-torqued it? If it's already leaked and you've taken all the pressure off the gasket and torqued it back down, I would be putting the order in for a new head gasket now. Once oil gets inbetween the surfaces, its not likely to seal properly, And I agree with above, after the first time the gasket is crushed, I wouldn't use it again. -
It's only because the head unit has two inputs for cameras, thought may as well use the other one, even with just a cheap camera (double DIN head unit). So not something I'm setting up as a 'dash cam' etc Just something to help with Parking etc I guess, not that It's real difficult, however might be useful to prevent scraping on kurbs/concrete things etc. I'm chasing something more like this, but just want to know what a half decent brand is without going overboard in price:

I've recently changed my head unit to a Kenwood system that has 2 camera inputs. I've already wired the reverse camera in and its working fine, however I was thinking of putting a camera on the front somewhere but trying to work out if there is a useful place to put it or if I should just throw it straight in the middle. Had even thought about running it facing out to the left at the front of the car (for blind intersections) Is anyone running a camera at the front etc that could give me some ideas? And also what camera would you suggest as well? Thanks

Car won't take timing with out knock
89CAL replied to MatthewT85's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Stao might be able to weigh in here, but I believe he was having issues with JJR Belmouth dump pupes at one stage. The flange doesnt quite match up to the gasket/turbo and you need to grind out the dump a bit to make it match. I never had this issue but I believe that it was a problem Do you know how much timing is actually in the MAP up were the problem area is? -
How about try and find where the leak is coming from? Could be a split hose etc which is a pretty simple fix.

Nissan water pumps are cheap enough, $150-$200 is nothing when it should last for 100,000km (ish) I'm fairly sure I've heard of bad reports of repco water pumps before, not that it helps you now but good lesson for others

I'm fairly sure it is a bosch style plug. See this LINK for connector types Or something like THIS perhaps? A friend of mine can get genuine plugs but I'm not sure where from or how long they take to arrive

Instrument Cluster not Working Properly ! (Tacho & Rev)
89CAL replied to Jonic's topic in General Maintenance
What did you do to make it do the above? Cluster needs to come out to have a look what is going on at minimum. May even just be a shorted wire etc -
Brake Light Question, AU R32's...
89CAL replied to LTSJayce's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I got defected for my HID's after having them in the car for over a year. It was department of transport on a 'random' vehicle inspection to so not even while night driving and actually using them So the LED's arent worth getting? Off topic here i know -
Got a multimeter?

Horn works all the time, So ground each wire individually with the car off. Horn should go off when the wire is grounded. If it doesn't, you may have a wiring issue (if you have already checked the fuse and the relay) I have a wiring diagram for it but cant upload images at the moment for some reason

Instrument Cluster not Working Properly ! (Tacho & Rev)
89CAL replied to Jonic's topic in General Maintenance
Read my post in the other thread. And for future reference a fuse will either be blown or not, so if it was a fuse the issue would stay. Read my other post. I cant be bothered typing it again lol -
Intermittent problems point to a dodgy connection or bad earth etc. I would check the plugs on the back of the cluster for a start seeing as both speed and revs are sent electronically to the cluster. Check the wiring etc while its out You dont have a power fc hc or something you can check to see if the ECU is getting reliable signals from both? That rules out a problem on the sensor end (although it would be rare to get both happening at exactly the same time)
