  1. Tomorrow i throw away my MAP sensor so I can buy one of these
  2. Chris Evans sounded like he was presenting a kids show not a car show. Can't stand the way he talks/narrates I know the old top gear wasn't as 'real' as they made out, but new top gear seems too far fake. Have watched 1 episode, I told myself I'd give it a chance, but I don't think I'll be watching anymore unless there is absoloutly nothing else on
  3. Dan was quicker for the majority of the dry phase of the race anyway until he seemed to give up a few laps from the end Given the apparent pace of the new spec Renault engine combined with the RBR chassis and aero, I think Dan would have passed him if not for Monaco being Monaco. I genuinely feel sorry for him, to lose a race like Monaco because of a stuff up outside his control, especially with how well he drove all weekend would be completely gutting
  4. I see anywhere from 20-30psi at idle running 10w40 and with a Nismo oil pump and restrictors fitted. I cant really see how a catch can would worry it but seen as its the last thing you have done wouldn't it make sense to vent the catch while its idling and see what happens to oil pressure? How is the catch can set up anyway? What state is the oil filter in? Trying to think of things that would cause an issue if all you have done is add a catch can. Do you have an oil cooler fitted?
  5. I would expect the stock BOV to open when boost in the cooler pipes, purely because of the softness of the spring An aftermarket BOV adjusted to a hard setting is more likely to stay closed The stock BOV's do have that little bypass hole as well, wether that makes a difference or not BOV's work off pressure differential. Imagine for arguments sake the spring is worth 2psi, so with the car boosting it has 10psi on the cooler pipe side and 10psi on the top of the valve, so with the spring 12psi on the top, obviously 12 beats 10 so BOV stays closed. Close throttle, vacuum occurs in the manifold so now you have 10psi on the cooler pipe side and -10 on the top of the valve + 2psi so therefore -8psi With the boost/vac line removed, you only ever have the 2psi of spring pressure holding it closed, so as soon as there is any more than 2psi in the system the valve will open These are just rough numbers, but remembering how soft the stock BOV was to open by pushing it in with my thumb, I would suspect it would stay open alot So really what you should have is a whoosh of air then possibly a small flutter at the end when the spring overcomes the valve. Although then you have to think about the effect the low pressure/vac that is present in the recirc pipe is having
  6. Yeah pretty much how i saw it. Split the strategies, they even said at the start that the 3 stop was supposedly quicker so on paper it probably was a good idea
  7. Thats an R32, I believe the check valve may be part of the connection to the booster in an R33 but may be mistaken
  8. My Cometic has been fine so far. 27psi of boost now, previously ran 23psi and engine has been on the go for nearly 3 years
  9. I am saying it sounds like you need a tuner to do it. I dont believe there will be a set ratio that works. It is mostly trial and error setting it up. Do a run, tune the boost controller, do another run, tune boost controller and so on and so forth. Noone here can go 'yep, 60 set and 27 gain and your good' It needs to be done to suit the setup
  10. I don't believe there is a 'correct' setting. It depends on the car and the setup its running
  11. dodgy bearing in the CAS is my guess Only because I've had the same thing happen. Took the cover off, everything was fine, put the cover on, sounded crap. thought it was the cover vibrating, one day pulled the CAS out and tried to spin it and it felt like the balls were cubes in the bearing Pull the cover off anyway, see if you can pinpoint anything first
  12. What? The ECU sensor read hotter than the other gauges? Why not believe the ECU sensor? Stock gauge is useless
  13. Thats odd. I emailed 6boost yesterday and got a reply this morning Im not excusing them for the above story, but you have to remember that its a business that started with one person and has grown slowly to what it is now. Again, im not defending them, but i think its great to see what Kyle has come from to what it is today.
  14. Ive run QFM pads for years with RDA rotors and they are silent. I have all the shims and dont think I even used any grease
  15. Anyone else with Foxtel - I dont know if I'm just being special, but I can't find in the guide where qualifying was broadcast live yesterday
  16. Hi All For Sale I have: Nismo 740cc side feed injectors out of an RB25. Nothing at all wrong with them, at a guess I'd say they have done 20,000 - 30,000km at the most. Comes with rail, Fuel pressure reg and harness. Have upgraded to EV14 top feeds and no longer needed any of it. Even painted pretty. Complete drop in package $500 Davies Craig Fan hub, as new condition. Managed to get my hands on a cheap GTR fan hub, wanted to use the Nissan hub rather then a Davies Craig. $100 USED Splitfire coilpacks (SF-DIS-001, Suit RB25DET series 1). At least one of the coils is no good, Never bothered spending too much time diagnosing, just bit the bullet and got a new set to save headaches later on Still, might be repairable or I'm sure at least 3 of the other coils are fine $60 ono All items are free to collect in Mackay, or can ship at buyers expense. Feel free to PM me with any questions etc Cheers
